News Credits: 1 | Transtech Revived I started writing a TT fanfiction a while back but eventually dropped it to focus more on my Chronicles of Cybertron fanfic. Recently I decided to give it another go and this is how the re-write has been going (Note: Megatrons Escape from the Autobot shuttle uses elements from another fanfiction I read but can't remember where): Transformers: Transtech
By: C-Dub End of the Spark Wars:
"What... what are you doing?!" Megatron looked shocked at Optimus Primal as he blasted one of the technorganic vines that restricted his left arm. He was teetering over the edge of the skyscraper used for his own thrown, as Primal was using his back thrusters to give him the momentum to push Megatron over into the organic core of the planet below.
"Planting the seeds of the future. We must seek balance, Megatron! Not only the balance between the organic and the technological, but the balance between eternal enemies! Between you and I!! Arghhhh!!" Optimus was ready to turn his attention the final vine wrapped around Megatrons right arm. With that this whole war would finally be over, all the sparks Megatron had merged with his own would be free, and the planet would be reformatted into the perfect balance of the organic and technological. Megatron, as if sensing this action grabbed Primal with his free arm to prevent him from destroying the vine. This would not stop Optimus, however, as he used an energy blast which broke through Megatrons fingers and destroyed the final vine. Megatron fell over the edge holding Primal strongly in his grip, but it didn't matter. Primal gave no struggle. "The great transformation awaits, Megatron. Prepare to be reformatted." Megatron screamed, and with the core approaching quickly, Primal closed his eyes, and prepared for impact.
Within moments of their impact a bright light shot out from the planet, slowly consuming every bit of its terrain. The planet, fully covered with bright light, shined brighter than any star before finally diminishing. When it was over, Cybertron was forever changed. Primals comrads awoke to the surprise of success. Optimus Primal had not failed them. Over the horizon the rest of the captured Maximals began to run toward them, free at last. Cheetor, looked on. The successor to Primal finally understood that it would be up to him the guide the Maximals in this new life.
Days past, and many did not know what to make of the situation. Not only was the planet forever changed but so were they. Majority were trapped in their new found beast modes. Teaching them to transform was becoming difficult. But it didn't matter. Peace had finally consumed the planet. War was no longer a threat. That is until one night, when screams came from many of the young Maximals. Talk of a strange moon approaching. Cheetor and the others looked up in the sky and sure enough something, almost planet shaped was coming. All stood frozen. What was it? Where did it come from? How did it get to Cybertron? Suddenly Cheetor noticed a what resembled horns coming out of one side of the sphere. He may have never seen him in person but he knew whom it was from the old datatracks.
"It's Unicron!!" Cheetor yelled as every Maximal ran as fast as they could. They were caught off guard. Very few could transform and those that could were still not fast enough to out run the massive horns that planted themselves into Cybertrons surface. Unicron activated his anti-gravity beam, as bots and chunks of rubble rose up into the mouth of the deity as he consumed it all. Many looked back only to see their brethren being eaten alive. It was a massacre. The planets reformatting left them defenseless. Many continued to run, but it would only be a matter of time before Unicron would swallow the entire planet. Cheetor stopped running to accept the inevitable, watching as he saw Rattrap and Nightscream being sucked into the mouth. "Optimus... we were supposed to be free." Cheetor spoke to himself. When Cheetor himself finally started to rise toward Unicron, a blinding light ensued the entire solar system. A New Beginning (Two Stellar Cycles Earlier):
Megatron flew the Maximal ship he'd crashed into to an abandoned Predacon base on Cybertron. No one would ever think to come here. It was the perfect place to set up his plan. Soon he'd be free of the organics that corrupt his system. Within days he had the old base up and running. The captive Maximals were stuck in stasis lock, and he was now ready to remove their sparks. He would need to if he were to create the first of his drone army. He'd already set up a diagnostic drone to ensure everything went according to plan.
Using the Maximals alternate modes as a template, he'd set up a few modifications to ensure maximum fire power. Once that was done he had the diagnostic drone oversee the rest until it was powered up. He now turned his attention to virus he had planned to unleash upon Cybertron. Simulating many failures it was proving not an easy task. The further his frustrations it would seem his drone could not find a proper power source for his drones. "What do you mean impossible?!" Megatron was not pleased with his creation.
"Please, sir, it's not impossible just improbable with the technology we have available. And even if we were to fully power it we'd need a more advanced A.I. chip. Mine would be illogical to use as a template." Drone hovered fearful near Megatron.
"So, then have you any suggestions or are you just a blasted, useless, scrap of junk?!"
"I do have one suggestion, sir?" The drone brought up a skimatic on the computer screen.
"Ahhh, yesss... brilliant! With this, nothing can stop my ultimate conquest of Cybertron, and eventually, the universe!" Megatron laughed maniacally, but it was halted by a metal clanging sound on the floor, slowly moving toward him. In the darkness a red eye glowed as the clanging footsteps stopped.
"Not that it would make a difference!" The snarling voice was one Megatron could never forget and would haunt him for eternity, in the pit.
"Noooooo!" Change:
"Cheetor! Where are you going?! They went this way!"
Cheetor recognized that voice, but how was it possible? "Bigbot?" Cheetor turned expecting to see his old leader standing before him but instead something almost resembling a big rig truck you'd find on Earth. But that wasn't all. Looking around, something had changed. One minute Unicron is consuming the planet Cybertron, but now, he was gone, and Cybertron was back to normal. There was no technorganic in site. What happened?
"Cheetor, you gonna sit there doing nothing or are we gonna capture that criminal?!" The truck spoke to him.
"Optimus, is that really you?" Cheetor was a bit confused.
"Of course it is, Cheetor. What's gotten into you?"
A unknown voice came on in their communicators. "Cheetor, Prime, where are you two?! Undermine is getting away!"
"Call for reinforcements, something's up with Cheetor. I'll report back soon." Optimus transformed. Cheetor looked stunned. The voice was that of Optimus Primal but the face resembled that of the old Prime, the body similar in design, but more advanced, colored in his old black, red, and grey color scheme. "Cheetor, are you alright? You've never acted this way before. With you we could have caught Undermine already."
"That voice called you Prime, and you look like him, but you sound like Bigbot." Cheetor head started to pound trying to understand what was happening.
"What are you talking about, Cheetor? You know as soon as we got back the elders advised we recieve new alternate modes. Unlike you and the others, I didn't need to use my old name. But what does that matter? You should already be aware of this. Did you just suddenly get amnesia, or something?"
"No, the elders were gone when we got back. Only Megatrons drones. We followed you and you eventually defeated Megatron, reformatting the planet and returning all the captures sparks to their bodies." Cheetor looked around and saw no trees, no grass, or flowers. Just the vast cityscapes of Cybertron.
"What has gotten into you Cheetor?! Megatron disappeared without a trace after he escaped off our shuttle. He's probably lost in the void of time and space. There are no captured sparks and the elders are just fine."
"No! It was real! It had to have happened! I don't understand this!" Cheetor paniced.
It'd been three days since the incident. Cheetor was taken in for psychological evauation. Prime awaited the doctors results with much worry. Cheetor was like a son to him, only to go mad. "Optimus Prime." The doctor called him over.
"Well, how is he?" Prime knew it probably wasn't good.
"None of this makes any sense. No damage to his processors or datatracks. No tampering. Spark pulse is strong. I have no answers as to why his memory is so scrambled. This is beyond my expertise. My only suggestion is that he be restrained until I can further diagnose his condition."
"No! I won't have any of my bots commited. This has got to be temporary. This must be a virus or something!" Optimus was losing his hope.
"I can assure you no such harm came to him. And he'll be fine here. Our facilities are the best of Cybertron and my staff can give him the best treatment..." He was interrupted by the sound of loud thudding footsteps. Prime looked over and saw Rhinox running toward him.
"Rhinox! What are you doing here?! Why aren't you onboard your vessel with your crew? I thought you had an important mission from the elders."
Rhinox had slowed down and stopped in front of them. "We had to return. Somethings wrong with Rattrap."
"What happened to him?!" Sounded to Optimus that things were getting worse.
"He's been acting strange. He remembers nothing and keeps talking about some reformatting and how I should be dead."
"Cheetor spoke of the same thing!"
"How is he?!" Rhinox asked.
"Not good. The doctor keeps telling me that he hasn't been tampered with but I can't believe it!"
"It's the truth. We can find no evidence of foulplay. Whatever these memories are, they weren't planted." The doctor assured them.
"He's telling the truth Optimus. Rattrap received the same analysis and I've gotten word that Blackarachnia and Silverbolt are experiencing the samething. There have only been four other cases of this illness but I have no names. It doesn't make any sense. All of them talk of this 'reformatting'. It all seems to have began when we'd recieved this strange transmission moments after we'd left Cybertrons atmosphere.
"'Strange transmission'." Optimus looked confused.
"Yeah, a message. It read 'They do not lie'. We have no idea where it came from but somehow must be linked to what's happening to our friends."
Optimus looked nervous. "Rhinox, delay your mission if you can, and set up a meeting with the elders. I'd like every bot affected to be present so that they may explain to us what's happened."
"I'll see what I can do, Optimus." Answers:
The great hall of the Citadel just as Cheetor remembered, only devoid of Megatrons ego. The elders were all seated, all looking concerned. It was then the entrance opened as a series of bots entered, some restrained. Those restrained looked paniced and frightened. Cheetor could relate.
"Have a seat, all of you." Leo Prime spoke as the restrained bots as well as their escorts sat near him. "You said their were 8. Why do I only count 7?"
"My apologies, sir." One of the escorts spoke. "One of the cases is with an exploration crew on a distant flora planet. Their commander has fallen ill with the same symtoms. They believed at first it was something with the organic life on the planet, but that seems unlikely now that these 7 are experiencing the same symtoms. We've set up holo-communication with them." The bot pressed a button as a holo-screen displayed in front of them all. There were 4 holograms of bots, one restrained sitting quietly.
Leo Prime spoke again. "Well, now that we have everyone here... sort of... let us determine what happened." All the restained bots were looking at one another, but it seemed only a few knew each other. Cheetor reconized none of them.
"Sir, myself and Cheetor had..." Prime pointed towards Cheetor when one of the bots interrupted.
"Spots?! Is that you?!" When the bot spoke, Cheetor recognized the voice.
"Rattrap! So you remember!" Cheetor smiled exstatically as he said this.
"Cheetor, Rattrap! You're both ok!" And their sat Silverbolt happy as ever to see his old comrads. A fembot was seated next to them, and from her expression Cheetor could guess it was Blackarachnia.
"All of you stop this instant!" Leo Prime was not happy. "I demand order!"
"Chill a nanoklik!" Cheetor interrupted. "I'm guess among us are Rattrap, Blackarachnia, Silverbolt, Nightscream and myself. I'm guess you other two are Vehicon generals, probably Obsidian and Strika, seeing as Waspinator is still on Earth, and our distant friend is Bontanica.
"Indeed." Botanicas hologram smiled.
"Sprouts! I'm glad to see you're OK!" Rattrap could hardly contain his excitement.
"As I am glad to see you. I thought I was going mad!" Botanica sighed with relief.
"If you ask me, I still think I'm going mad." Came Blackarachnia's voice from the bot seated next to Silverbolt, confirming Cheetors suspicion.
"We're not mad! It was real! I know it. I feel it! Bigbot sacrificed himself and Megatron to recreate this planet... and then Unicron came." Cheetor looked down as he reflected on what had occured.
"Unicron?" Optimus looked puzzled.
"Enough! From this moment foward this meeting will have order. Anymore outbursts from any of you, I'll have you removed." Leo Prime wasn't amused by any of this.
"We don't take orders from you. I don't care if you're the high elder or not. Only the boss monkey commands us... or Spots when the big ape is getting all fanatical." Rattrap chuckled to himself.
"Enough Rattrap. Listen to Leo Prime." Optimus said softly.
While he looked different, Rattrap knew it was Optimus. "...Yes, sir."
"Thank you, Optimus. Now would you, as well as Rhinox please explain what happened to them in detail." Leo Prime sat back awaiting their response.
"I wouldn't trust the rhino as far as I could throw him." Rattrap muttered.
"Rattrap!" Optimus was shocked.
"It's OK, Optimus. He's been displaying hostility since this mess started." Rhinox responded calmly.
"He's not the only one, traitor!" Silverbolt added.
"Traitor? Leo Prime, we'll answer your questions soon, but, now I have to know just what these memories are." Prime turned and looked at Cheetor. "Cheetor, why don't you start?"
Over the next few megacycles, all of them explained their sides of the story, and, with only a few mild inconsistencies, it all seemed to match. Megatrons uprising, the abduction of the sparks, the Oracle... all of it. The elders, Optimus, Rhinox, and Botanica's crew were all puzzled. "None of this makes sense. You all have vivid and very similar memories of these events, but, as you can all tell, none of it happened. An undetectable virus is the only answer I can come up with." Leo Prime scratched his head trying to figure it all out.
"I have to agree with him. Cheetor, I know you're my freind, regardless of what you may think of me now, but, it's the only answer that can explain any of this. What about you Optimus?" Rhinox looked to his former commander.
Optimus sat silent for a few moments, deep in thought, before he responded. "I believe them."
"What?!" Leo Prime and Rhinox shouted at the same time as everyone elses jaws dropped, including those restrained.
"While, I know, that none of this occured, I believe they all had an experience." Optimus smiled at Cheetor.
"How can you believe that?!" Leo Prime asked, bewildered.
"Not long before Cheetor started acting this way, he was still youthful. While the Beast Wars robbed him of his childhood, and forced him to grow faster, there was still some youth... and immaturity, I guess you could say, left. That youth is gone now. He's serious, calm, and wise beyond his years. Whatever it was they experienced, it is responsible for all their changes. They are not the same crew I once served with. They are warriors, exhausted mentally, from all the conflict. For that reason, I believe them. All of them." Optimus faced Leo Prime again, sure of himself.
"While I respect your faith in them, I think it is merely your loyalty to them, instilled from the Beast Wars. I am not so easily convinced." Leo Prime sat back again. "I require some proof of these, so called, Spark Wars."
Cheetor and the rest looked down, minus Obsidian and Strika, clearly not as affected by all of this. The Vehicon generals know they were right, in everything, and didn't need to prove that to anyone. Cheetor thought for a moment and then looked up again. "Hang on! Everything on Cybertron is just as it was before the Beast Wars began. The Beast Wars started over Megatrons insane idea of changing history. He failed, but, with transwarp technology, the time streams can still be altered. After Megatron escaped off of our escape shuttle he claimed he moved through the wormhole back to Cybertron and took over. Obsidian, Strika, you were his most loyal generals. Did he ever reveal to you any location where he started his research on his uprising?"
"Like we would ever bother to tell you, filthy Maximal!" Strika responded with disdain.
"Strika, there is no need for that. History is not the same as we remember. While I know our quest was the right one, it never happened. And I would like to know what became of that timeline, like the rest of them. Giving up his secrets can't change any of this now. Tell them." Obsidian was calm and stared forward at the elders without so much glancing away.
"Are you mad?! They are our enemies. They..." Strike sighed and spoke again softly. "...fine. After he broke free of the shuttle, he crashed into another Maximal exploration shuttled, similar to the Axalon. The crew consisted of three, all of which, after their destruction by our masters hands, were used as templates for the first wave of Vehicon drones. Cycle, tank, and jet. He flew the damaged shuttle quietly back into Cybertrons atmosphere, and set up a base of operations in an abandoned Predacon factory in Cybertropolis. It is there he began developing the virus used to trap you in your beast modes, while designing his army."
"How could you know of any of that?! That is classified information!" Leo Prime spoke before he realized what he was saying, giving away that he knew of Megatrons fate.
"What?! It's true! Where is Megatron now?!" Optimus had to know what had become of his nemisis.
Leo Prime sighed. "He's dead. We found his body in a Predacon factory within Cybertropolis just as Strika said. That does not mean I believe them. Obsidian and Strika could have hacked our mainframe to obtain that information. I require something more solid."
"I got it!" Rattrap shouted. "If you've checked our datatracks, you'd know Obsidian, Strika, Nightscream, and Botanica, had never met us before this day. So there is no way we could have conspired with them on any hacking attempt. May I have the power bonds from my arms removed and holo-touch-pad opened?"
Leo Prime faced another elder and nodded. "Humor us. Are you going to paint a masterpiece for us?" The other elders chuckled at his remark.
"Not a masterpiece in my eyes." The bonds disappeared and a holo-touch-screen opened. "However, as much as I hate it, I'm gonna show you what Megatron was up to." Rattrap moved his finger along the screen as slowly a strange symbol, many of which did not recognize, appeared. Leo Prime sat up, eyes widening. "Your face says it all. You've seen this symbol before."
"What is it?" Optimus asked.
"Perhaps they can tell us, Optimus Prime. That is the one puzzle we couldn't understand, when we found Megatron." Leo Prime was starting to think, that maybe there is more to this then any of them understand.
"This is the Vehicon faction symbol. Obsidian and Strika can confirm that." Everyone stared at the Vehicon generals as they nodded in agreement. "Every drone and general alike was branded with this symbol." Cheetor grinned. Surely, now, everyone must believe them.
"Interesting. It would seem, while true, that none of this could be conspiracy, that you seem to know more than even your datatracks are letting on. However, that does not mean we 'believe you'. More proof must be shown." Leo Prime was a stubborn one.
"What about the Oracle chamber?" Everyone turned to Rattrap. "It's no longer buried under technorganic plant life. Clearly, it must be in the same location, and from what I can guess, the elders have never been there."
"Yes, bring us to this 'Oracle chamber'. Leo Prime said softly, however, it was clearly a demand. My Transtech Revived Fanfic - Updated 4-27-09 - The Canine Twins

I don't think that Ratrap and the others would have so much distaste towards Rhinox, sure he became Tankor but Jetstorm did just as bad things.

The tunnels that led to the Oracle chamber were just as Cheetor had remembered. It was a long journey travelling deeper and deeper into the depths of Cybertron, and just as Cheetor had described, there lie the ancient civiliazations of Cybertron in ruin. Slowly, Leo Prime was starting to believe them. How could they, so vividly, know the underground of Cybertron when no one had been there in centuries? Eventually, they came to the dead end Cheetor and the others had mentioned.
"That's one long drop." Optimus exclaimed.
"Well, it's a good thing you recommended we bring a hover craft. Everyone aboard" Black Convoy ordered. Everyone got on, as slowly it descended into the endless darkness. It was not long before they had to activate the hover crafts search lights as it was too dark to see where they were going, but Cheetor and the others were not worried. They all knew where this blackness would end. Eventually, they reached the bottom and stepped off. Even with the lights it seemed as if they were surrounded by nothingness.
"We're here." Cheetor could see nothing, but, knew they'd arrived.
"But, where's the Oracle? There's nothing here. At least, not that we can see. This darkness seems endless." Nightscream looked around, but, only saw lights consumed into the black.
"It would seem this Oracle chamber doesn't exist after all." Leo Prime now saw all this as a waste of time.
Cheetor approached a rock on the ground, one he remembered from when, moments before, they were reformatted, and picked it up. "That's what you think! Argh!" Cheetor chucked the rock just as Optimus had done, and it wasn't long before the rock shattered the illusion of darkness that had surrounded them, but, to the horror of many of them, they were soon surrounded by a wall of flames. Cheetor, Blackarachnia, and Rattrap, however, remained calm. "Don't worry, it's not real." Cheetor put his hand into this new illusion and once again it dispersed, only this time, it revealed all that was really there. The Oracle chamber lie in front of them.
"This is... incredible. All these years, something so amazing lie beneath us!" Black Convoy continually ran diagnostics on his optics, as it was so unreal.
"If they knew this was here, then perhaps, they really did experience it." Rhinox felt much excitement consume his frame. This chamber was something the scientist had never imagined he would see in his existance.
Optimus Prime smiled and closed his eyes. He didn't need to say a thing. He didn't know why, but, he knew Cheetor was telling the truth. Obsidian and Strika, however, were not so impressed. This was the mythical computer that guided the Maximals? It couldn't compare to anything Megatron had created in his time as the ruler of Cybertron.
"At long last..." The Oracle spoke, it's voice echoed into the mammoth chamber, that seemed to go on forever. "...the receptive spark..." As it spoke again a bright light connected with Optimus Prime causing body to be surrounded by light.
"Somebody get him away from that! I will not lose any bots on my watch!" Black Convoy was about to interfere, only to have Cheetor halt him in his tracks.
"Leave him be. This must happen." Cheetor looked on, unphased.
"Initiating download sequence..." Optimus and the Oracle spoke at the sametime, however, Optimus was speaking monotone, indicating the Oracle was speaking through him. Within Optimus' mind came a breathtaking sight. The universe itself filled with sparks.
"You are now interfacing with the Matrix. The Allspark that links everyone, and everything, that ever lived... and ever will live." The Oracle spoke as Optimus watched the sparks disappear as Cybertron appeared and was soon engulfed in green plasma. "The great transformation awaits Optimus Primal. Prepare to be... reformatted..." Just as the Oracle said this, he felt something trying to connect with his spark. However, soon, the entire vision disappeared, and he was once again in the Oracle chamber with the others. "Error. No beast mode detected. Download aborted." The blinding light of the Oracle disappeared, as the original image of the universe, once shown before, returned. Afterwards there was only silence.
"What?! This doesn't make sense! You should have been reformatted!" Cheetor could not believe this. Why was it aborted? What was done wrong? "Somethings missing. Something wasn't done right." The elders, and Rhinox did not understand what happened, and Optimus, too, was trying to figure out what was going on.
"In case you haven't guessed Spots, the boss monkey, ain't a monkey anymore. None of us have any organic. Seems that what's required to make this work." Rattrap had a point. Everything was in place for this work, everything, except, an organic alternate form.
"Optimus, are you alright?!" Rhinox ran to his friends side placing his hand on his shoulder.
"I'm... I'm fine. It was trying to interface with my... spark, but, just as soon as it began, ...it ended. I saw things. The Matrix, the universe, ...Cybertron consumed with ...light. It was like it was giving me a mission, but, ...left me without the tools to complete ...it." Optimus was trying to regain his composure.
"I thought it was going to work. I thought we could reformat the planet without a war. Only to find out we were missing one half of the equation." Cheetor closed his eyes and tilted his head down.
"To be honest, Cheetor, that's one quarter. Remember, Optimus, Megatron, machine, and organics are required to reformat the planet. Megatron's dead, and we no longer have our beast modes." Blackarachnia was disappointed it failed, but, understood why.
"There was something more. While it interfaced with Optimus I felt... an anomoly from within. Something... foreign." Obsidain noted.
"I detected it too. My scanners picked up on a strange signal." Strika confirmed.
"What kind of signal?" Silverbolt approached.
"Unknown. It did not last long enough for me to scan, or trace it. However, if I can enter the Oracle and attempt to interface myself, I might be able to locate the anomoly. My question is, will you allow me." Obsidian was curious as to what he detected.
"We will do no such thing! We don't know what that is or how dangerous it is!" Leo Convoy would have none of it.
"I wasn't asking you. You have no place in this environment Leo Prime. You were not involved in the Spark Wars. I'm asking the feline. While Optimus is the receptive spark, Cheetor is the highest in rank to remember."
"Why are you asking permission? You owe me nothing. We are enemies afterall." Cheetor was confused by his request.
Obsidian sighed. "Don't you get it, Cheetor? The war never happened. Megatron never rose to power, nor was Prime reformatted. What is there to fight for? A cause that does not exist? We are on the same side now. Not friends, but two forces trying to understand a recollection of a history that never occured." Obsidian was making sense.
"Alright, you can enter, but, you had better share everything you have learned from within." Cheetor said, still reluctant.
"Very well. Take this." Obsidian removed a small device from within a storage compartment on his arm. "This device will transmit any knowledge to our respective datatracks from this moment forward. Whatever I see, you see. Whatever I find, you know of." He threw the device to Cheetor, as Cheetor caught it, and nodded. Obsidian began approaching the Oracle and soon disappeared into the image of the universe. My Transtech Revived Fanfic - Updated 4-27-09 - The Canine Twins

There are a few grammatical errors here and there, and I always find those distracting, but the story itself is sound. I've found myself drawn into the mystery of what happened to the timeline we're all familiar with from Beast Machines.
I have to admit, when Unicron appeared I wasn't too thrilled. I think Unicron's been done to death at this point. Thankfully that part of the story was over with quickly, but I have to wonder what part it's playing in the current situation.
I appreciate the references to my own BMac story, with appearances by Leo Prime and Black Convoy, and Obsidian's entry into the Oracle. I thought Obsidian and Strika were well characterized by the way, both calm and rational, and exploring the situation just like the Maximals.
Nice job. Shane's Comics - Four years and 500,000+ page views... I'll quit one of these days.

Story of my life. LOL! I wanna take writing courses but at the moment money is a pressing issue. Unicrons death in G1, never set well with me. How could something so powerful be destroyed by something so simple. This next portion will answer some of your questions but only leaves that many more. But, much like in Vehitopia, Obsidian and Cheetor are two very big pieces to the puzzle. Advanced A.I.:
From within the Oracle, Obsidian searched for the source of the anomoly he detected. The imagery was so vivid and real looking. It was as if slowly traversing the universe itself. Stars, planets, solar systems, everywhere. It almost seemed that he could reach out and grasp any one. But, this was an illusion. A fancy light show meant to distract the user from his true purpose. To interface with this, so called, Oracle. No wonder the Maximals were so easily manipulated. Here, they had a legendary supercomputer at their fingertips, only to let it direct them. Computers are meant to serve, not order.
Yet, Obsidian, couldn't shake the feeling that this was something else, not the Oracle, something... sinister. Just as it seemed his journey would go on forever, he entered a small portal hidden by the illusion. It was then he saw something he'd never expected. Megatrons salvation. The core of Vector Sigma. "Vector Sigma! Incredible! But why is it hidden within the Oracle?!"
"I am Vector Sigma. Before Cybertron was, I was."
Here he was, searching for the anomoly he detected within the Oracle, only to find the almighty Vector Sigma. Could this have been the anomoly? "Vector Sigma, why is it your core is hidden within the Oracle?"
"Correction. This is not the Oracle. The Oracle super-computer lies not on Cybertron, but another world."
"If this is not the Oracle, then what is it? Why is trying to guide the Maximals?"
"Long ago, the Quintessons migrated to this world and found my core where they attempted to interface with it. Without the key, they were unable."
"But I lack the key, yet, now I am interfacing with you."
"While true, you do not possess the embodiment of the key, you do, however, possess the download of the key program."
"That's impossible! Megatrons download to his drones and generals never happened! The Spark Wars never happened!" Obsidians head was throbbing trying to understand all this.
"You are correct that the timelines have altered drastically, yet, you, myself, and select others remember. The datatracks of the Spark Wars have disappeared altogether. However, the key program does not download to ones datatracks, but ones spark. Just as the memories of the Spark Wars are ingrained within your sparks, so is the key."
Interesting. The key could prove useful later. "I understand now. Continue with origins of this computer."
"The Quintessons searched for a way to access my core, yet, every attempt failed. Eventually, they sought guidance from their creator, Unicron. With no answer to their desire he had them construct a strange computer around my core. The computers skematic was downloaded to the Quintessons and constructed accordingly. It's original purpose was to hack the core to gain access. My system is far too advanced to be hacked by any computer, past, present, or future. When that failed, they left the computer intact and had long forgotten it's location. However, the computer was regularly updated advancing it's A.I. at a rapid rate. After the Autobot revolt against the Quintessons, Cybertrons systems were shutdown temporarly. The computer went offline. Even after Cybertron went online again, the computer remained inactive. It had to be manually restarted, however, updates were still sent and recieved. While inactive it would create a hologram of nothingness. An attempt to draw any from determining it's true purpose. During the Spark Wars, Primal activated it again, and now, Cheetor has. Coming back online it has followed through with it's masters will. It would appear that Unicrons desire is for the planet to be reformatted."
"Somethings aren't adding up. Unicron went offline long before the Great War ended. He would send the updates and information would have to be sent back to him. If he's dead, how can send and recieve such information."
"Unicron is a diety beyond the comprehension of any mortals. Simple technology, like the Matrix of Leadership, hold no mortal threat to him. However, it can weaken him severely, making him dormant in the process. Logistically, he'd slowly regain his power before striking again. There is only one way to completely destroy him. His spark must be cancelled out. For that reason a weapon was constructed. It's location I cannot determine."
"If he is attempting to rise again, then I must ensure he fails. My primary purpose is the protection of Cybertron. Have you any idea where I can obtain the knowledge to destroy him?"
"Consil with the Oracle is required. It was the Oracle that created the weapon."
"Where is the location of real Oracle?!"
"I'm afraid you do not have access to that information. Your keys priority is lower than that required Only one other, with the a download can access that information."
"How many more have a key download?"
"Four. Strika, Thrust, and yourself. The identity of the other you do not have access to."
"Interesting. I must return. Perhaps the elders will know." Obsidian turned to leave.
"Obsidian." Obsidian faced Vector Sigma again. "Contrary to your rivalry, you cannot allow Cheetor to go offline. The rise of Unicron is inevitable. Any attempt to protect Cybertron will fail without him."
"But, why?! What makes him so important?!" There was no response. The connection with Obsidian was dropped. "So, our salvation lies within my former enemy." My Transtech Revived Fanfic - Updated 4-27-09 - The Canine Twins

While I'm not saying it will remain this way, without the threat of a Megatron what reason do those whom experienced the Spark Wars have for hostility? Other than trust, I cannot think of anything else: New Allies:
The Maximals and Strika waited patiently for Obsidians return. However, soon hope was fading he would return. He'd been gone for several megacycles. Leo Prime was ready to call it quits and return to the surface. "I'm afraid we might have lost Obsidian. He's been gone too long. Clearly, entering the Oracle is deadly and I guess makes you go offline."
"No! We will not leave here until he emerges! Obsidian would not so easily be destroyed. He still exists. I know it." Strika was not ready to leave her comrad anytime soon.
"I'm afraid I must agree with Leo Prime. Obsidian should not have taken this long. I fear there is no hope for him." Black Convoy turned to head for the hover craft and the elders followed behind.
"Wait..." Optimus did not attempt to leave. "I don't know why, but, I can feel it. His spark is still online. He is returning as we speak."
"While I wanna believe that, I don't see how. I haven't recieved one bit of data from his device. As soon as he entered the device shut down." Cheetor looked down hopelessly.
"Don't be so sure, pussy cat." All of them turned to look at the Oracle again as Obsidian emerged, finally, after his long departure.
"I knew it! I knew you would not have shut down so easily. These Maximals clearly have no comprehension of the strengths of a Vehicon general." Strika smiled, her ego ascending knowing she was correct.
"While true, they do not know are strength, I feel the time for rivalry is over. The war never happened Strika. There is no need for hostility at this time. We are Maximals again. Only, now, we have the knowledge of a greater threat at hand." Obsidian confidently stared at his comrade, and at first she looked as if she would debate him, but, eventually nodded in agreement.
Rattrap rolled his eyes. "Perhaps, now, you could get to the point of what you've discovered. That device of yours didn't work. As soon as you entered it shut down, and you've been gone for quite a while."
"I could not have been gone that long. It was but a few moments." Obsidian was confused.
"Hate to break it to you, but, it's been 5.6 megacycles. Not one transmission either." Blackarachnia crossed her arms.
"Interesting. Very well, then. While I was gone it was not the Oracle I interfaced, it was Vector Sigma. It would appear this computer was built around the shell to mask what lie underneath."
"Vector Sigma?! Can't wait to find out what devastating weapon you might have obtained from the ancient computer. Perhaps another key download?!" Nightscream did not hide his disdain for the former general.
Obsidian sighed. "You're young, thus naive. When you're older, you'll learn to trust more often. As I said, we have no need for hostility. Especially, not now. While the key was not a concern I have learned that Strika, Thrust, and myself still have our key downloads from Megatron. It would seem it is stored within the spark, not the datatracks, but, the weapon is of no use for now. There is no threat of the technorganic, and we all have the same purpose. Besides, I do not feel the weapon linked to my systems anymore. Anyway, now is the time to understand why the Spark Wars were cancelled out. Our next objective is to find one other with a key download. Vector Sigma has confirmed another has the download, and his or her download is of high enough priority to access all of Vector Sigmas information. But, I digress. My discovery first."
Obsidian went on to explain the tale of the Quintessons and the computer they built that posed as the Oracle, and it's origin to Unicron. He went on to explain Unicrons inevitable rise and of how only one weapon could truely destroy him. He urged that finding the location of the mystery key holder, would reveal the location of the real Oracle, which, in turn, would lead to the location of the weapon. He only left out Vector Sigmas warning to protect Cheetor. None argued the urgency. The elders could not afford to question the rise of Unicron. It must be investigated immediately.
They all turned to leave when Obsidian approached Cheetor. "Pussy cat... I mean, Cheetor." Cheetor faced Obsidian again. "From this moment forward, for reasons I cannot explain at this time, I will not let you out of my sight. But, with good reason. I promise, no matter the dangers, we face, you will not go offline. Not on my watch."
Cheetor looked confused and rattled by the statement. "What are you talking about?! What makes you think I'm gonna entrust you with my life! And why would you want to look after me?! After all, just because the Spark Wars never happened, doesn't mean I'm gonna suddenly trust you!"
"I don't expect you to. That is why I will ensure, you learn to trust me. Now let us leave." Obsidian passed Cheetor, who soon followed, to the hover craft to return to the surface. My Transtech Revived Fanfic - Updated 4-27-09 - The Canine Twins
