Just to get started: Some Q&A for my fan-fic

Hello, Spinner here to give you some insight into my version of the Transformer world. In my upcoming fan-fic there are many terms that are explained with the use of footnotes. However, I can’t explain ALL my ideas in footnotes. So I will give you a list of concepts that will help you better understand the world my story takes place in

But first you should know the story(s) I‘m working on were created based off of the ORIGANEL AMARICEN TF cartoon, a few ideas introduced in the AMERICAN Beast Wars series, and of course my own imagination. I do not use any of the several Japanese amines for story concepts and I have not read the old US or UK comics or the new comics and therefore do not use them for info on the origin of any of the G1 characters or story.

Ask me any Qs you might have. I love having to explain how my fan-fic world works. It helps me in my writing.

THE ANSEWRS

Were did Cybertron come from?
The true origin of Cybertron is still sometimes questioned, and is therefore unknown.

Were did the Autobots and Decepticons come from?
Both the fist Autobots and Decepticon were created by the Quintessons: the Autobots as consumer goods and the Decepticons as military goods.

Why do the Quintessons hate the Cybertronions?
The Quintessons were forced off of Cybertron shortly after both the Autobots and Deciptocons rebelled.

How did the Great War start?
Some time after the expulsion of the Quintessons the Decepticons, still closely bound to their basic programming, turn against the Autobots and thus started the Great War.

How can a Cybertronion have a descendent?
Any Cybertronion can build a new robot, but if that Cybertronion uses a small part of it’s own Spark (the very information and energy that is its existence) as the base of the Spark for the new Cybertionion that new robot can be considered its offspring.

How are there Female Cybertronions?
The way we designate something as female is that it is the half of a species that bears the offspring. In that case, there are no real female Cybertronions. However if two Cybbertronions wish to both add their information to the Spark of a new robot their Spark energy must be on nearly opposite ends of the spectrum. It just so happens that one end of the energy spectrum tends to result with the Cybertronion has having “male body types” (heavy frame, deep audio sounds, stronger joints) while the other has more “female body types” (lighter frame, higher pitch audio sounds, greater agility). In any case they are all considered Cybertronions and the idea of male and female only came into discussion after the Cybertronions came in contact with organics.

How are there Cybertronion children?
When created all Cybertronions carry with them the knowledge of their past; who they are, what they are. However, how they except and understand this information can very from robot to robot. Based on their programming a new Cybertronion may exhibit a “childish” or “adult” behavior. In any case the new Cybertronion’s body frame will often reflect on its programming. But let it be noted that its body frame and behavior programming can change in time.

Since I started with the same cartoon sources, it would be difficult to say anything that wasn't colored by my own ideas.

I would say that explaining everything may be a bad idea because it may reveal too much upon which your stories are based up front. But even that too may be subjective to preference, since I'm not (as a matter of style) often in a hurry to reach the end.

That said, your idea about spark segmentation bears some resemblance to budding as described in the G1 Marvel comic. It could explain the Dinobots or the Technobots though ... or even Kreemzeek. [/can o'worms]

A question: do you use a Mac or can your PC read text back to you? I've found that this is an invaluable (and quick) editing tactic since it is often much easier to hear a wrong word than or cumbersome text than it is to read (even reading out loud ... though I still recommend this without reservations).

I rather like the ideas in the notes. Especially the explanation of fembots. I'm still working on that, as well as child bots in my own fanfic. However, when it comes to descendents I have a different approach. Within the Allspark are endless numbers of unique fragments. Each fragment makes up a spark. Each spark has it's own frequency. That's not to say that two or more sparks can't have the same frequency. If one spark has one frequency and another spark has the exact same frequency, they are considered "related". To be created at the same time, signifies brothers or sisters. To be created at seperate times, they are considered descendants or ancestors, respectively.

There are no true forms of parents, however, child bots don't have the capability to care for themselves, so guardians are summoned to raise children. A guardian is a job class, and cares for multiple children at one time (About 10 on average). It's not uncommon for a child bot to refer to their guardian as a "father" or "mother".

Ever since the movie came out people are loving the Allspark. I like your idea for "related" robots, I think it works well.
