next objective is taking the industrial Sector near the Tagan heights; but the Cons booby-trap all buildings; after a bloody shootout, the Bots remain with nothing but ruins. So Prowl suggests an invasion of borderline decepticon controlled territory; trouble is, reaching fast that place forces any army to cross the Thunderhead pass, a natural maze-like canyon perfect for ambushes; to circle a Dangerous outcome, Wheeljack and Perceptor repair and reprogram a few sentinels left at Simfur temple, which alt modes are artillery posts and sub-orbital dropships; thanks to this clever move, a quite big assault force bypasses part of enemy lines, putting a block between the Decepticons while their comrades press against the first lines; the manouver succeedes partly, at huge cost of lives; the Autobots can go to offensive towards the South emisphere.

Meanwhile, Megatron struggles to defend himself from attempts to dethronize him; the inner circle is growing bold and several officers and warlords are ready to make their moves, often one against the others; to subdue them, megatron needs a huge victory, so he chooses to challenge directly Optimus Prime (without him knowing, of course); but the decepticon dictator arrives just when Prime is busy fighting another one; even if it seems impossible, Nova Prime came back from the Death...

together with Galvatron, Jhiaxus and several others, Nova wants to take his throne back, and eventually subdue and employ Optimus at his service as an apprentice; however, Optimus has no esitation to ally temporarily with Megatron, who knows he needs to put Nova out of commission for good as much as Optimus; stuck between a rock and a hard place, decepticons and autobots unite their forces and repel the ancestors; conquered, Nova laughs at two leaders, stating they traded the minor evil with something worst... and the sky is clouded by a colossal shadow projected by a planet, misteriously arrived with none wiser!

He's come, at the end; the Devourer of Worlds, the cybertronian boogey-bot, the Chaos Bringer... UNICRON! This giant planet size scourge wandered into the space for eons looking for Cybertron, and now he found it. Still frozen by fear, bots and cons initiate a rapid counterattack; orbit, space and ground see action and destruction as well; even the mighty gestalts have little effect on this monster, who change form into an anthropomorfic bot, as lethal as before.

Taken aback, cybertronians take the battle on Unicron's surface, struggling to enter under its "skin"; to worsen the situation, Unicron has his own robot defenders, sometimes twisted versions of known cybertronian warriors like Predaking, and his ultimate line of defense is Nemesis Prime, clone of several past Primes, able to change appearance and armed with a Matrix of Annihilation. Optimus Prime must confront him alone, then he discovers the only real weakness of Unicron: the Matrix of Leadership; under pressure of his comrades in amrs and allies, Prime (a rational and scientific mind) struggles to believe and find the faith; just when all seems lost, he overcomes his fear to fail and this unlocks the Matrix; the sheer power of Allspark stored within burns the cerebral core of Unicron, who loses control of all sistems and creatures; trying to salvage what he can, he morphs back in planet mode, but it's too late; all while cybertronian soldiers run desperately to leave the doomed planet-monster. At the end, Unicron esplodes and becomes a ring of asteroids orbiting around the wrecked Cybertron; after a short celebration, the alliance breaks and both parties gets to their HQs.

Now that Unicron is vanquished, the war starts back; 'bots and 'cons fight each other for the last phase of conflict; the total annihilation of enemy; the beginnings are alternating, one victory for Prime, one victory for Megatron; then, slowly, the scales shift to the Autobot side; this is determinated also by hundreds of returning civilian cybertronians, who occupy the ground and begin the restoration of society and services; meanwhile the news of Unicron's defeat spreads, and Blaster, Prowl and Jazz send a transmission on air: the recording of Optimus opening the Matrix in Unicron's belly. This video becomes an instrument of propaganda, growing their quotes to people optics; in time civilians living in decepticon grounds organize themselves to disturb or fight the Decepticons, while Autobot presence expands...

Megatron knows he's losing; soldiers start defecting, between the ranks several warlords attempt to rise, the inner circle is more and more pressing; after a brutal purge, Megatron admits the defeat only to Soundwave, and the trustful lieutenant suggests retreating; trouble is, the Decepticons are already retreating to the last secure spot, Darkmount. So, Megatron and Soundwave prepare a risky gamble.

Prime orders the total lockdown of Darkmount: ground, underground, air, nothing must flee from there; aware the cons are desperate and, thanks to this, angry and fiery as never before, Optimus wants to take them for hunger and fatigue; the fruits of this tactic are almost immediate; even more decepticons do defect or try to do; those who attempt to force the block are killed or arrested. When it seems the enemy is at his historical minimum, Optimus Prime gives Ironhide the order to advance; many hostiles don't even try resist, someone flees inside, but Megatron is not among them; after a long search, his body is found unrecognisable; but several details of his fusion cannon do not correspond to Nightbeat's optics, so Perceptor perform a rapid autopsy; he finds the corpse isn't Megatron!

the Protectobots investigate and found many discrepancies and gaps between the prisoners' versions; furthermore, a little part of prisoners is missing; they are some of key elements within decepticon military structure (Constructicons, Stunticons, Combacticons, Predacons and others), disguised to hide their real identities and wait the rescue; meanwhile, Megatron and the seekers escaped through a breach opened during the battles, covered by shootout noises; Megatron frees his best followers and flees towards the spaceport.

When Optimus Prime hears everything, he gets the picture immediately; Megatron is trying to withdraw all his best forces and retreat where Prime won't be able to find them: somewhere into deep space. Optimus orders to pursuit the escaped enemies at once, but it's too late; Megatron already took off with a large cargo starship.

The political and social structure of Cybertron is fractured and ungovernable, so Prime cannot move; his priority is rebuild the planet, and he dedicates himself and most of actual resources to the task; meanwhile, Bumblebee assembles a group of voluntary former autobots to keep Cybertron and the entire solar system under surveillance

the Decepticons searched sanctuary far from Cybertron system; they found on a lonely planet, Charr, empty of life but with some mining resources; here Megatron sets his operative base: the seekers look for anything usable, the Constructicons prepare all primary commodities for a long permanence, while the others build a real base underground; the mercyless leader knows he's gonna to wait for centuries, even millennias for a chance to exploit; but if there's something Megatron has plenty, that's patience, and time...

    The END??

    Finally I found a good choice for the Monsterbots; 3rd party factory Fans Hobby began designing and creating faithful homages to G1 Monsterbots;
the first I saw is Repugnus, who they call Megatooth.

I found the name of Doublecross: Fans Hobby MB-03 Feilong

The last one is Grotesque: Fans Hobby MB-05 Flypro; for him, you have to wait

Update: I found why Fans Hobby named him Feilong; I read something on a Street Fighter videogame thread; Fei Long (the chinese action movie actor modeled upon Bruce Lee) means "Flying Dragon"; you can see the link

now I'm gonna post the Seacons photos; unfortunately, only five toys of six are completed, but I feel it's useless wasting time; I'll add the last one when I take good images of him colored (I found only prototype stage photos)

to not overload the post, I'm showing only Snaptrap, Nautilator and Overbite.

update!! since the new look of the site is simpler to manage and adds some new features, I'll edit and update all the post to show the images in full mode instead of thumbnail mode; this should make you readers able to watch without nuisances as opening every file posted.

I forgot this thread; I was busy between work, a bereavement in my family and other; just this year I went to cinema several times (there was much to see: Spider-Man Homecoming, Wonder Woman, Thor Ragnarok, Justice League, Assassin on the Orient Express, Guardians of the Galaxy, Rogue One, and of course Transformers TLK)
now I'm back, so take some new images: let's begin with Piranacon
