I'm writing a short story detailing the intricacies of Soundwave's and Megatron's relationship, set in IDW. It's a work in progress, and any feedback would be suggested for these first few hundred words. POST-DARK CYBERTRON (IDW)Soundwave looked upon what Shockwave had wrought. Once, long ago, he was a vagrant. Aimless and pained and cursed, drifting between superseded avenues and homely gutters . . . moving, always moving, away from the notice of those who detested his kind, of rare individuals laden with gifts, and those who accordingly hunted them–and therefore, him. Then he was a broker, impoverished still yet no longer miserable. He had found consolation in the so-called "Beasts", who were kindred souls in rejection. In time, they showed him how to turn his burden over into a gift–and in return, he became their orator, their representative and their protector. In time, he became an emphasizer to a fierce demagogue, who possessed mind and strength enough to challenge society’s social stigma and the corpulent hierarchy that instituted it. He eventually became a supporter, then an ally, an advocate, a confidant, a lieutenant, a guerrilla, spy, soldier, commander, and fittingly a master of information all over again. He was now lifetimes older, and lifetimes different; he had known war and isolation and fury and power. Of his earliest self, nothing remained, but the inheritance which had borne him through life and, ironically, after fighting so long against inequality, defined his place in it too. Of his earliest self, his feeblest self, he could only recollect having been so, long ago. As for how it actually felt, to be filled with doubt and ruled by uncertainty, he could not remember. It was a state of mind too long dead and dormant to be any familiar. Perhaps that was the reason he now felt so uneasy.
Well I'm not familiar with the IDWverse I can say it has potential. I can certainly help if you need it.
