Amazing work on the rooms of your spacebridge. I have been mesmerized by this project with how you infused the g1 comics & cartoon into its many rooms.

Hey! It's the STARS base! So the STARS base looks like this:

    http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/attachments/transformers-toy-discussion/27156393d1271141404-s-t-r-s-help-001-11.jpg

Here's a few notes about my version:

You'll notice I turned one of the smaller wall panels into a complete door/closet for Grimlock. There's also the weapons storage section, and another little storage section with two little cabinets. (where I shoved Grimlock's accessories).

Finally there's the tech spec reader -- mine doesn't read tech specs. It explodes. Because dammit, Autobot command centres are ALWAYS exploding.

Okay! Here's some pictures of some structural updates for my space bridge! Woo! So what's here?

Well I've built up the crossbeam -- and added a hollow to it. The hollow allows the space bridge to have a nice little hidden panel inside that can be used for another play space.

I've also added the top crossbeam -- getting there on the build!

I added a light to replicate the teleportation arch of the space bridge.

Here's my Spotlight: Kup room! It's based on Kup. You know Kup. That Kreon... I don't own.

    Dammit.

Anyway -- the room is actually a disguised room, meant to hide an external feature -- a set of stairs that fold up and hide and a little platform. The Kup room doesn't have a play space inside the little hovel (which I assume Outback is hanging out in), instead that hovel hides the stairs.

I don't have a Kup -- but when I get one I'll put up a picture with him inside the room.

This is all such brilliant work. I don't mind telling you I am going to shamelessly steal some of these ideas for my own building. Planning on converting my Lego Death Star into something of a Cybertron with rooms representing bits of Transformer set pieces. I doubt it will hold much of a candle to your great work here. Keep it up.

Steal anything you like. I shamelessly steal from official LEGO builds, myself.

Been a little while, hmmm. I've got a ridiculous amount to show off. What should I do first... hmmm...

How about the Smelting pool? We'll do this in two posts, first... the door (which is a mini playset in and of itself).

The door is actually openable in two parts. you can use the top as a trap door... or you can open the bottom part and have the trap door dump a Kreon directly into a jail! The jail uses a part from this Kreon set:

    http://www.tfw2005.com/resources/attach/4/0/5/9/7/KRE-O-TRANSFORMERS-CELL-BLOCK-BREAKOUT-A6951_1393277823.jpg

The good ole Kre-O Cell Block Breakout. The door to the cell can be exploded off with some serious force. by a lever in the back, allowing a figure (say, Custom Cliffjumper) to get captured and then escape!

Okay, let's get on with the main show -- the smelting pool itself.

Go here if you've never heard of the Smelting Pool:
    Smelting pool - Transformers Wiki

Or here for the comic where it first appeared:
The Smelting Pool! - Transformers Wiki

The Smelting Pool is one of myy all-time favourite Transformers set pieces. I don't think anyone's ever equalled the cold, pragmatic horror of Decepticons hunting and melting down 'lesser' transformers to make raw materials for other Transformers.

    Anyway...

The pool is a two-storey room -- the first one in the bridge. I don't have another one planned just yet -- but we'll see. The pool is also a ground floor room because it extends right down into the base of the bridge to give it some depth.

The bridge includes pipes, based on the comics, a light up refinery area, a Decepticon watch tower (you can see it in this image from the comics: File:TheSmeltingPoolUS17.jpg - Transformers Wiki -- it's the big green thing), and of course a trap door and a light-up smelter.

There's even the ledge Blaster hangs out on when he's trying to save Scrounge from the bridge in the story.

I shoved in some melting generics too -- and used the melted Kre-O brick I got randomly in one of my Kre-O sets (It was a spare piece) as one of their chest plates.

Okay... so the next bit is looking at some stuff I've rebuilt. Let's start with the Matrix Flame room. I've added a bunch of stuff here -- I've updated the design almost completely, and added a door at last! The door even has some weapon storage on it! Woo!

I also took another closer look at the images of the Matrix Flame chamber -- and honestly there's not many. It literally only appeared in 3 panels of the UK comics ever. So all I had to go by was... well... the colours. So I tried to incorporate some of the pinks and yellows from the comic into the design of the chamber.

(You can see the panels on the TF wiki here: Matrix Flame - Transformers Wiki )

More you say? Shit yeah! Let's got going, brother... we got rebuilds to look at!

There's the rebuild of the teleportation arch. It now uses a Lite Brix LED block, that is replacing the LEGO light brick that was previously there. The Lite Brix block is much brighter and alternates colours randomly, for more of a transportation portal effect.

There's also a rebuild of the platform on the side of the Kup build. This little fold-out platform has been made bigger -- it now has two levels -- and this has allowed the inclusion of a lever to activate and control the missile launcher -- and gives the missile launcher more clearance, letting it be used easier.

I also added a little white bar above the stairs build -- why? Well, I'll get to that a little later, I promise. It's something kinda special (at least something *I* really like).

So in Robots in Disguise there was this thing called the "Global Space Bridge". Basically the Autobots had these roads that would open up and they'd drive through the centre of the planet and crap like that.

So I built one for my Space Bridge! It's based on a piece of design on the comic Space Bridge -- check out the reference image I included to give you an idea of what I'm working on here.

But look here for refrence for what I built:

File:Landfill Autobots in space bridge.jpg - Transformers Wiki

There's some character storage in it, and it hooks up to the side of the Space Bridge -- but it can be a completely separate piece if you like, removing from the larger space bridge to become a little playset.

you can see how I built the lava flow out of LEGO flame pieces.

There's also a Lite Brix LED brick used to create the space bridge effect. for some reason none of the photos have captured the green colour that the LED can also change to -- it alternates randomly between red, blue and green. I've hooked it up to an electric outlet using a 6 volt plug and it seems to work well. Saves on batteries.

Fantastic. The Smelting pool is excellent.

Are you doing a rebuild of your earlier Bludgeon and Straxus rooms?

Probably a no on the Bludgeon thing... the Straxus room, maybe. But I need a specific part -- I wasn't happy with the green bubble piece in the previous one, it was the wrong shape. I need one that's more spherical -- but I don't own one yet. I might trawl current LEGO sets and see if I can see something.

    --Andrew S.
(I'm working on something complex right now... and it's kicking my butt, so it might be a while before there's new stuff to show... but I think I still have some other stuff I've already built to show off.)

So in Transformers Animated there is a scientist named... you know what? I think you guys can get this one yourselves.

I have a few design notes -- I really like the way the hoses inside the room become an exterior feature. that relates directly to the space bridge -- the space bridge has those sorts of hoses all over it in the comics (one of them is even a plot point!) I hope to do some more of this kind of building.

And Megatron's head? Megatron's head took FOREVER to build. It's a delicate, difficult build. Phew.
