I finished this project during the summer of last year. Originally, I was so tired of bashing everything into G1 characters. So I aimed on doing a Universe-like toyline that employed different gimmicks, characters, and colors. But as I started picking out characters, I realized that 99% of the toys I selected were Armada. At that point, I decided to try to just redo the entire Armada toyline without Prime and Megatron being the central characters, and replacing meaningless minicons with some actual known characters. The Story: Megatron has been missing in action for a few stellar cycles, but the war on Cybertron is ever alive. In the search for his nemesis, Optimus Prime and his elite group of Spychangers leave for the stars, believing that Megatron has taken asylum elsewhere. A few cycles pass, and a mysterious ship almost launches from Cybertron unnoticed. Thinking that it could be Megatron, the Wreckers, led by Impactor, decide to pursue the ship. Inevitably the two shuttles land on earth, and the Wreckers soon realize that the monster that they have been chasing is much more sadistic and destructive than Megatron (especially when he wears Broadside as a living, regenerating armor). After loosing numbers, Impactor reluctantly calls on Optimus Prime for help, but can the combined force of these two leaders be enough to stop Overlord? There is a sequel story planned using the Energon line (with a Machine Wars emphasis). I have all of the characters cast, but have only six made. In the sequel, Megatron returns and dies, Optimus Prime remains on Earth and dies, Optimus Primal takes lead of the Autobots and Maximals, and the true form of Overlord emerges, hailing an army of predacons led by the general Megatronnus. This may have to be my summer project for this year. There are a few puns and Easter eggs around, I gave one away with Macaw-bre. I did not intend on doing the Spychangers or Sunstorm originally, because I wanted to stay away from the commonly used G1 stuff, but I decided to do these figures as they were ones that I wanted when I was a kid, and did not see a more appropriate time to make them. Much thanks to seibertron and bwtf. Also, I borrowed Impactor's head from someone or a third party, but do not remember who If it is yours, I will be more than happy to give you credit.
This is some awesome bashing...l especially like Earthquake and Triton, l almost commissioned customs of those characters from those molds before l had to backburner the deal due to $$ issues...your Squadron X digibashes make me want to revisit the idea. And love that Tornado and Broadside...
This is all sorts of amazing. My favorite of the bunch is surprisingly Optimus Prime from the Laser Prime Mold. Why hasn't that happened yet?
Overlord wearing Broadside as armor? I like that, kind of a forced combination to torture the Autobot.
Yeah its from the Headmasters cartoon and comic. I've seen neither, but according to tfwiki, they started to form a type of bond. Sixshot would never bring himself to harm Daniel (even bandaged him up once), but would never succumb to calling him a friend either, despite Daniel being the last person he talked to before leaving Earth. The set is a homage to that.
I think it would be interesting if you used the leader class Prime mold for Pyro and found a use for Jetfire, then combine them with B'Boom to form Ruination or something.
Maybe Jetfire could be digibashed into Deftwing. Hey, if Ironfist could become a dark horse ensemble character, so can Deftwing.
Funny you guys say that. Ironfist is in the sequel series, having the capability to combine with Perceptor (I actually have them done). As for the Apex Prime repaint, I do not have anything planned between B'boom and Primal, but do have a Magnaboss as being a key character. Prowl will be prime, Ironhide as overload, and Silverbolt as jetfire.
