"Like Some Vast, Terrible, No-good Fan-fic" -Megatronski's Art Thread

Well, what is this? the Third time i've tried to create some sort of fan-comic? The second drawn one? I need to get my ideas straight. Anyway, This is inspired by many of the other drawn-comics here on TFW (especially TF:Nexus). The comic itself is still in the idea stage, but I wanted to post some of my concept art in a fan-art thread for feedback/criticism.

Transformers: Hurricane

30 years ago in 1984, the warring race of Transformers made contact with earth. Luckily, the peaceful Autobots made contact first, and were able to set up protection against the Decepticons. The thing is, the human race didn't really need that help. For centuries, the humans have been protected by the DWMA, a sort of world-wide police force that trains teenagers with anomalous features to fight against evil. The DWMA has been extremely sufficient in their mission, helped majorly by their leader being Death himself- The Grim Reaper.
Ever since the Transformer's first contact, the DWMA and Autobots have formed a strong bond, DWMA students fending off Decepticons, Autobots fending off Earth's own evils.

Maka Albarn is one of the more usual students of DWMA, a Weapons Meister, paired with Demon-Scythe Soul Evans. The two wouldn't seem like a goood pair, Soul being a feisty hothead and Maka being a soft-spoken and a bit of a major bookworm. Maka's father is the Death-scythe to Death himself, but she hates him for leaving her mother. Maka's been a pretty successful student at DWMA, and has almost turned Soul into a Death Scythe. That all may change when DWMA introduces the special team system, with Maka and Soul being paired with the fiery Ryuko Matoi.....

Overlord used to be one of the 4 Decepticon Demon Generals. That is, until he planned a coup against Megatron, which ended in Overlord being cast from the Decepticons, barely escaping with his life. Ever since then, he travelled across the galaxy, raising hell for both the Bots and Cons. Now, he has bigger plans. A secret contract with one of the Decepticon Demon Generals, Lord Straxus. A mission to disable Earth's shielding, and scorch the planet into a husk. The mission is perfect for the sadistic Overlord, and he's got a team full of vicious mercenaries and Bounty hunters to back him up...

 

I'm LIKING this so far. It's got a good plot, and the designs are cool as well. Can't wait to see more!

Thanks for all the feedback! Today (Well at least this morning) I have no Transformers finished, but the next one i'm doing is Lockdown. The question I keep asking myself is, should I give him a more traditional TFA design, or should I try and create some hybrid between TFA and TF4 designs?

Anyway, onto the update:

(Eh, I'm not too big a fan of this, I mean I really like what I did from the uniform-up, but the legs look too cartoonish and big IMO)
Ryuko Matoi is in a really, really bad mood. She's been a student at DWMA for most of her life, after her father dumped her off there with a seemingly living school uniform. It wasn't until her teenage years that the uniform awakened, giving Ryuko a sword-proof, bulletproof combat armor. with that and with the Scissor blade that Death had been keeping for her ever since her father gave it to him, she's ready to take on anything.... anything but the bossy, snotty Maka Albarn and the "2kewl4u" Soul Evans. She wanted to be part of her best friend's team, the "Hotshot" crew, consisting of the over-the-top Kamina, Simon and Yoko, but Death himself stopped her from joining, for some reason.
Little does Ryuko know, she's being trained extensively to take on one of DWMA's greatest threats: Honnouji Academy and it's malevolent teenage ruler- Satsuki Kiryuuin (who likely won't get a bio for a while)

I obviously went for a more subdued,version of her Kamui, but she still looks weird and short to me. huh, maybe I'll just have her be short in the series itself, and have Maka be tall.)

NEXT TIME: ROCKING LOCKING LOCKDOWN. (and maybe DoubleDealer if I work really hard)

Agreed. Oh, and since I didn't mention it before, this thread's title=WIN. And I'd LOVE to see doubledealer as well!

 

Will Lockdown have gunface or hook hand? I think he should have both, but that's just me.

 

He's likely going to have a gun-face, Hook-hand and Chainsaw-hand.

The next 2 additions to the cast:


Minerva is the Autobot Science team's head medic. She's the quiet, reserved type, the kind of person who people want to try and make friends with, but they never open up. This might be because Minerva really doesn't know where she wants to be, and is running from responsibilities of her own. As a protoform, she was taken in by Ratchet, the head doctor of the entire Autobot army. He taught her everything he knows, and was grooming her to be his successor. When Ratchet learned that he had contracted the deadly Cybercrosis, He told her about her new responsibility. Minerva ran, scared of the responsibilities that followed.. Now, she's here on Earth, and knows that Ratchet doesn't have very long. Will she face her fears?

Lockdown is no Decepticon. He's a hired Bounty Hunter, you want someone found? He's your man. You want someone tortured? The guy has a chainsaw hand. You want someone sleeping with the Sharkticons? The bot has a face that can transform into a gun. When you ask Lockdown why he does all of this, He'll tell you it's for the trophies. His ship is full of 'em. Everything from Alpha Trion's Armor to Zeta Prime's Ion Rifle. His ship itself is even a trophy, named after the bounty hunter he killed to get it: "The Death's Head". It's serving as the "Decepticon" base for now. Lockdown's not a social bot, but when Chief Medical Officer Ratchet finally finds Minerva on Earth, Lockdown and Ratchet will find a muddy past being found as well.

So in my series, the Autobots on earth are mere scientists and doctors, very weak. In fact, a squad of DWMA students have a better chance against Decepticons than my Autobots.

I've finally planned out the first story arc completely, so expect the actual Comic thread to show up in the funnies section VERY soon. More cast member bios are gonna be posted here, but main characters might show up in the series before they get an actual Bio. The Next characters on my list for bios are Human protagonists who won't actually join the main cast for a while (I've got my priorities straight, don't I?) and while I won't reveal their names, they're Wizards, specifically one that specializes in Fire and one that is a master of Celestial Spirits.

 

I love Minerva's character and design.

 

Minerva is based off of IDW bee? Cool. That works, considering Nightbeat was made out of that same mold. And death's head is dead? Hmmmmm.

WELL INSTEAD OF DOING THE SIDE CHARACTERS I PLANNED ON DOING, HAVE SOME ACTUAL MAIN CHARACTERS


Glyph is the commander of the Autobot Research Team, and even though she's the smallest, she's likely the most frightening. like, if she sees an Autobot slacking off, she'll get Jetfire to hang you off of the Comm satellite for a week. She's like this because unlike her teammates, she's utterly devoted to her research into the various portals scattered throughout the galaxy, all of which are marked with scrawlings of an orange, horned monster devouring the universe. She's petitioning for the portals to be destroyed with her research.

If Glyph is the small Autobot with the fierce attitude, Jetfire is the big Autobot with the cuddly attitude. Like Glyph, he's deep into the research of the nicknamed "Chaos" Portals. He himself is responsible for finding the three "Herald" symbols on the Earth portal, showing three beings similar to the Orange "Chaos Bringer" beast shown on all portals. Jetfire's really kindhearted, if a bit skittish around other people. He's carrying some extra baggage on Earth with him because of this kind heart: His old teacher Pharma was exposed to some Insanity inducing crystals while on an exploration mission, and Jetfire mentally linked himself to him in order to stabilize his mind. Pharma is somewhat eccentric and is always messing with the research, but Jetifre won't let anyone kick him out of the outpost.

 

Glyph is important in this universe!!!! YAY!!!!
