Click for "Episode" Synopses TF: Matrix is a fan-continuity which is brand new. Of course, it features some of the heroic Autobots and villainous Decepticons we have come to love [and hate], but it is set on Cybertron in a time of rebuilding. While the Autobots have successfully restored Cybertron under the leadership of Optimus Prime, Megatron and the Decepticons are still rampant, attempting to halt work on Autobot cities and outposts, claiming them for their own so that they may one day leave their base planet of Lucifer and reclaim Cybertron for their own evil cause. I thought I'd attempt my own continuity after working on numerous Transformers: Prime images [which can be viewed here: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-fan-art/908558-transformers-prime-vectors.html]. So far, there are five confirmed 'bots, and five confirmed 'cons: Autobots: Team Prime: Optimus Prime, the powerful but reasonable leader, current holder of the Matrix of Leadership and the Star Saber. Ideal Voice Actor: Peter Cullen Bumblebee, the scout and freedom fighter. Can actually speak. Ideal Voice Actor: Will Friedle [VA from Prime] Ironhide, the sturdy and strong warrior. Ideal Voice Actor: Dave Boat [Fall of Cybertron Vortex voice] Ratchet, the easily irritated medic. Ideal Voice Actor: Jeffrey Combs (Who else?) Smokescreen, although that's just a nickname. He's not a big fan of his given name. He's an overzealous, energetic rookie. [Hmm. Sounds like Prime Smokescreen :S] [/IMG] Prowl, he was a cop before the war, and he is now. Breaking the law isn't something he's a fan of. Ideal Voice Actor: James Horan (TF Prime Wheeljack) Team Magnus: Ultra Magnus's team of no-nonsense knights. Ultra Magnus - Ultra Magnus isn't just by-the-book, he's the guy who wrote it. Seriously. Look on the front cover. What's that name, there? U. Magnus? Yep, this is your guy. Ideal Voice Actor: Michael Ironside [VA from Prime] Decepticons: On board the Nemesis: Lord Megatron, the evil megalomaniac and ruler of the Decepticons. Ideal voice actor: Frank Welker Starscream, the whiny but capable second in command. Ideal voice actor: Steve Blum [VA from Prime] Soundwave, the quiet - but not mute - comms officer. Ideal voice actor: Isaac C. Singleton, Jr. [VA from Fall Of Cybertron] Shockwave, the lonesome scientist. Ideal voice actor: David Sobolov [VA from Prime] Blackout, the brutal medic. Ideal voice actor: ?? Slipstream, the hot-tempered interrogator. Lucifer and its Decepticon Army: Straxus, Megatron's off-site leader of the decepticon-infested planet Lucifer. Ideal voice actor: Corey Burton [TFA Megatron Voice]
...Please tell me this will be a comic or animation or something. I really dig the style, and the plot concept you've laid out seems intriguing. Looking forward to seeing more.
Long answer: No plans for a comic or anything, but someday I might try my hand at animating the transformations and stuff. I was thinking more along the lines of the community coming up with an approved storyline from which I could do illustrations of battles, character deaths, group shots etc. I wouldn't do a full-blown continuous comic - if I did, it'd probably only be sketches/lineart and stuff, these characters take far too much time to do a single pose XD However, I do know where I want to go with 'Smokescreen' and his true name. Short answer; Not right now, maybe in the future.
I like the art style so far. It's like a fusion of the Prime style mixed with elements of G1 and Animated. Looking forward to seeing more of your cast. Are you thinking of adding a femme to Team Prime somehow like either Arcee,Chromia,Elita, etc? Because I'd like to see your take on one of them. Funny thing is that your series title is the same as my series as well.
It's likely. Requests for femmes are coming from all directions so far. I'm just wondering which one would be the best choice; do I risk ending up too much like Prime and choosing Arcee, or do I try being a little unconventional and go with someone like Elita-1? Ahh, poop. If only I'd done a bit more snooping around to see if the title was in use. There's definitely a reason for the choice of name here, though.
It's up to you. Add which female character you feel works best for the cast and story If you want to go for someone obscore why not ones like Firestar or Airrazor? They aren't used often in the franchise. Don't worry about it it's fine.
Just gonna clarify that I'm not doing anything comic or series related at the moment, just character designs for now.
Blackout seems like a popular opinion. Let's say he's our first confirmed 'Popular Demand' 'con. To be honest I'm surprised no one's said Knockout yet, haha. Or maybe he's already defected?
Good news, everyone! "Public Demand" character, Blackout, is officially the Decepticon Medic! He turns into a Search and Rescue chopper. Here's a quick image of his head:
I was looking up Helicopters in general, then realised that his name could be related back to going unconscious/anaesthetics, y'know, "Oh, crap, I just blacked out."
Blackout's finished: Don't ask how he performs surgery with those cumbersome hands. It's very painful for all involved.
