This is a neat idea and is looking really good so far! I hope once you get comfortable creating the custom parts that you consider some possible animal-ish heads, these guys look like they'd be right at home in a Battle Beasts display :)

Thanks man! I really hope it prints well enough at this scale. I'm a bit worried that the ball joints or tabs won't work right (hence the lack of public testing)

Thanks! I've already started on the first one :)

Wow! I can certainly say that I wouldn't have thought of that :D
It's definitely something to keep in mind, thanks :)

So...should I start upscaling all of my helmets and vests now?

    totally different measurements man lol

Though once I get this in hand and tested, I might be willing to do some Colab armor sets

So I just measured the set w/ the Nail armor on, and with the armor the chest is 11mm wide and 9mm deep by about 10mm tall. So your Kreon vests are actually TOO BIG! haha

Because of the way the neck is designed, we can't do a vest or cape style thing and still be able to attach the head :/ So the armor is designed to have a front half and a back half and they plug into the upper torso.

Of course this is all theory until I get a set in hand, mind you.

I'm debating making the generic set available for download once tested so that other folks can make their own armor sets fostering customization and community...

Nothing a scale tool stretch and some tweaking couldn't fix. And the amazing power of cut-and-paste makes it simple--though tedious--to slap my chest plates on different mechanisms (or even as standalone plates to be glued on a surface).

That's cool, we'll just need the rest of the armor set then. the upper and fore arms, thighs, shins and feet... :)

while that's true, given the frequency I can afford to place orders; it behoves me to get it as close to right as possible out the gate ;)

Thanks man. These things are so tiny though, so I worry lol

Dont worry, I've made some crazy tiny parts for my figures, and they almost always work.

    Sketchfab view of the protoskeleton

for those interested I'm playing around with Sketchfab to give you a 3D view of the protoskeleton that you can spin around and get a better look at. If this works out well then I'll probably do the same for the armor sets as they become available as well.

the 'NOT FOR SALE' on Shapeways is killing me man! but with one THIS complex it's best to just wait for final measurements.

Thanks man, now that this guy is done I'll be placing my test orders :)

haha thanks mate! Yeah best to let me test it first to make sure it all works. At this scale there's a lot that can go wrong and I'd feel terrible if one of you guys got stuck with a crap design :(
