Just a couple of really quick digibashes. Saw Gunshot's pic of Smokescreen without his arm kibble and noticed he has some similarities to Hot Rod, so I figured hey, why not make use of that?

Also noticed how RID Vehicon is really similar to Roche's way of drawing Rodimus (down to an easy flame motif chest) so I did one of that too.

Both work well in their own ways, though neither are quite right. Might look best if I gave the Vehicon chest to Smokescreen, might try that later.

Not entirely sold on the Smokescreen head - everything else is a winner! Feel BH Smokescreen works better than the Wheeljack mold!

I think Smokescreen works much better than the Vehicon.

I love the idea of Hot Rod/MTMTE Rodimus look out of the Vehicon, but Wheeljack is hard to argue with when you look at both version of his TFP figures. Especially with that awesome Shapeways head coming out...

It's actually quite easy to argue considering his proportions and transformation scheme don't even slightly resemble Rodimus in MTMTE.

You know, even thought the pose is weird, I think you may be onto something with the RID Vehicon. The proportions and styles aren't super far off. I wonder if someone could take a picture of a vehicon posed all heroic so you could shop it for a better example?

Yeah, I looked at my own spare Vehicon, and it can actually pull off a heroic pose well. Only problem is how low the head sits, so any mods would have to change that. But other then that? Pipes on the doors, new hands/head, new spoiler that can swivel and you're done. Ideally pipes on the legs and broader feet too, but no idea how the hell you can make that fit that in car mode.

Here's an old pic from when I was attempting to make Hot Rod out of Vehicon, the hands are a major issue, and I was working with the idea of using TFP Ratchet's head.

I guess a serious customizer could resculpt the legs to have pipes, but yeah overall I see the Vehicon body working very well with head and hand mods. It kind of makes me want to get it just so I can try. You could even put the arm pipes on swivels to face backward in vehicle mode.

EDIT: I wonder if Ratchet's hands would be able to be grafted onto a Vehicon, since they also swivel like that?

Heh heh, I tried that as well. Didn't have any luck getting the pin cleanly out of Ratchet's hands. But feel free to give it a shot, you'd be my hero if you can make it work! :)

^ I thought so to, at least for a head swap, but the connections on the heads don't work. As Ratchet's has a neck post and the Vehicon has a neck stump, it's sitting in place with a little silly putty there in that pic.
