Ransack and Cosmos ------- Pathfinder and "Turncoat" -------- So for whatever reason (Back in 2013) I got the itch to draw my own take on some rather "cartoony" styled transformers. Optimus and Bumblebee Megatron and Starscream Guzzle and Cindersaur Roadbuster and Hooligan ----------- Tracks vs Knockout. I'm particularly happy with how Tracks came out, myself. -------- RoadRage and Sideways.
Ooh, I'm likin' your take on the Autobot mainstays. Seems like a slightly more detailed and layered version of Animated aesthetic. Not sure what to make of Optimus' vehicle mode (the extra windows on top look like a bad attempt at hiding a faux-kibble chest, like Legends Movie Jazz), but I like BB. Can't wait to see more of your stuff. I'm always a sucker for re-interpretations of classic characters, just wish I had the motivation to make my own (outside of headshots, that is).
Guess you've never seen a real semi with the windows up top like that, just look at G1 Motormaster, he has them. Anyways, great style. I really like the look of Optimus here.
Both look great; especially in the faces. Prime seems a bit more down to earth than shining leader in this revision (like he actually used to be a dock worker) so if you planned that, kudos. My only complaint is that my transformers style is a tad cartoony too; and I think I actually like your art better.
Okay, I love this style! Which is a little odd...It reminds me of the Animated style, and I didn't like that, yet I like this. Weird.
Thanks guys. I'll try not to procrastinate too much with the follow ups. Thanks. Yeah, like Overhaulimus pointed out, the uper cab windows are a real thing on some trucks. I just thought it'd be a neat approach to doing Prime's window chest. Transfomration wise, the idea is that they fold down over the front windsheld. Me too. Not everyone seems to like that, but I've always enjoyed it. And motivation can be a hard thing for me too. Sometimes I want to draw something but at the same time the motivation isn't always there. lol Thanks. I appreciate that. I donno if I consciously planned that, but I have always liked that idea about Optimus: a noble Leader who comes from humble beginings. Yeah, I donno. I guess I did want him to sort of convey that feeling of a hands on kind of leader. That is kind of interesting. I'd assume it must have more to do with the overall style then the general thing of it being "cartoony".
That's a pretty awesome style you have going there dude! It's like the TFA style but with strong aspects of TFP in terms of detail thrown in too! Can't wait to see more designs. Are you thinking of doing your own comic with thiese designs?
I have thought about the idea of doing a TF fan comic for a long time, but I just don't know if I have the time or artistic stamina to take on such a project. Even with these pics that I do for fun, they still take me a good few hours from start to finish.
Yeah, Paxtin, I'm gonna' need you to contact Hasbro immediately. These designs are too good to be merely on this site alone. They need a television show now. Also, I eagerly await any more that you come up with.
Nice work............................................WHO AM I KIDDING THIS IS AMAZING THIS......THIS MY FRIENDS DESERVES A SHOW!!!!
Ah, that makes sense. I did think of Motormaster, but I never knew that semis like that actually existed. I've never seen one Down Under at least. Not the first time cultural nonsense has tripped me up before (like my only experience with GM vehicles is Holden and dumbasses who slap Chevy labels to their Holdens).
