Interesting: the flare on his cowl seems much more pronounced at that angle. Is this the same model or did you tweak it? I love how distinctive it looks!

Pretty much identical models. It is pretty wild how angles can alter the look of a model. (The old G1 comics use a lot of seemingly impossible geometry, and are often quite vague about how the hood connects to the facemask. It's usually just a lot of black shadow in the reference shots I could find.)

The only tweaking I did before uploading it to Shapeways was to give him more of a widow's peak on the front, and hollow it out for the head port. Much of the bottom part of the head will be exposed, so you'll still get mileage out of a Straxus face sticker.

Thanks! The front tip of the visor isn't quite as narrow as I would have liked, but that helmet has some weird geometry to get one's head around.

    No pun intended.

I was asked to make a tighter, less blocky version of my Scourge/Sweep helmet, so this is what I did. What you can't see here are the exhaust ridges along the back of the head, but it does give a clear view of the smoother, curvier curves leading up to the gun barrel...

I thought your original attempt at Scourge looked great as it was -- the blockiness felt like a cool homage to the toy's head-shape. But, of course, this version looks terrific as well! I really appreciate that you've always been so generous in working on people's requests. :)

Thanks! Yeah, I was pretty happy with the first Scourge, too...but I'm always up for a challenge. And don't think I've forgotten what's left on your request list...they are just extra-challenging.

Speaking of revisions, here's a more rounded, higher-polygon count version of G1 Cyclonus...
