Wash could probably be Pipes, he's a little underused. Book,,, Well Rung's already a good listener, and Drift is a bit of a spiritualist. But I'm guessing you want someone else to combine the two into one role? Great, now I have to choose between "Bender Whirl" and "Jayne Whirl". (Actually I could still see Bender do ALL Adam Baldwin's lines.)
The only thing that fucks up the "Roberto as Whirl" idea in my head is that Whirl never talks like Roberto. Adam Baldin actually fits his loud, violent and obnoxious personality much better.
Yah. Roberto voice never jived with me much. I think people go to him (and bender) cuz "oh hey theyre crazy robots too" (not that id ever mind a john dimaggio whirl! Just probly not his bender voice) I think adam baldwin (and his jayne character) fit a bit better. Whirls not "outer" crazy like roberto. Hes an inner kinda crazy/looks out for himself/likes to blow stuff up/likes the killing/kind of a jerk (And the tone/premise of firefly and its characters really jive with roberts' mtmte)
Oh man. A complete comic book adaptation of Firefly, recast with MTMTE crew. That...might be too cool of a thing to exist. Space time continuum and all that.

There's an issue coming up with the Lost Light crew using holomatter avatars. So far,,, we haven't seen Whirl's,,,,, So Josh, if you could bend a few ears in the art department at IDW?
