Whoops, sorry...I didn't mean to offend. The dread heads are the same size as the Vehicons and I was looking at the Vehicon Starscream photo so that proportion was kinda stuck in my head.

 

Awesome. Makes me wish I hadn't passed up on all the Vehicons I saw yesterday! I also loved the dreads and these are going to look great on my prime shelf. Something about you intending these to also be used to make custom dreads is really appealing to me.

Here's a question. Will the heads fit on the FE Vehicon figure? Because I'm thinking of adding the Hatchet head on one because it sort of gives him more of a beastal feel to Hatchet.

I just tried to head-swap my Vehicons. Unfortunately, FE's neck ball is a lost smaller than the RiD version's, so much so that the RiD version's head just falls right off. It doesn't even clip into place at all.

It would be really cool if you could offer a head variant that worked with the FE's neck dimensions. The bulkier FE body would make for a great "Vehicon Elite" set. It's too far off to reliably use superglue for that, I think.

 

I hope you got some vehicons in the end...even without upgrades, that is a really nice mold to have in your collection!

Interesting question and I tried the head swap as well. archon is right, the FE ball joint is 0.5mm smaller in diameter compared to the RID version, which is odd as the FE head is so much bigger. I can easily do a adapted head for FE Vehicons but the heads will look pretty small in proportion to the body.

One other thing about the FE mold which I think wouldn't work is the lack of 5mm ports on alt mode. There'll be no way to store their weapons nor is there a way to install the (as of yet unpublicised) dreadlock accessories.

Unfortunatey these are those two files are the only versions that I have. One for dA (the PNG with the transparency) that I used to publicize this thread and the FB album and the plain one (the JPEG), which I used to post to my own wall since it's Facebook-friendly.

I tend to resize my illustrations and shrink them down after I scan them because they tend to look too blurry with not-well-defined lines when the images are larger.

 

Pardon if this is going off topic further... but I am selling Warp... see my sig for sales thread. 35$, just trying to break even on it. Got it before I knew the AM weapons were released as stand-alone packs.
