    hmmn...

So this part here... When combined w/ some other parts to widen the shoulders will create an abdominal section for your Super Kreon.. with an Ab crunch.

Now my question to you, dear reader, is should I leave the faces plain and smooth like the original Kreon parts, or should I add some tech details to it like abdominal plating or spinal segments? Also should I add ports to the back to plug stuff in and build up onto? Keep in mind that this is intended as a lower torso part, however if you didn't need things like heads then it could be a replacement torso I suppose...

I'd vote for smooth, as that matches the traditional Kreon/Mini-fig aesthetic.

    But that's just me :)

keep in mind that the more material I carve out for designs, the cheaper it gets (if only pennies). Also, as this is going to be the abs section it's not going to be as noticed as the chest is, and I assume the people are going to be less inclined to paint or sticker up these add-on parts, but I could be mistaken. ^__^

What about for the back of the part, add ports to plug in things like wings or guns? sword hilts/scabbards?

I think I'm going to poke a hole in the top and include an extension part that plugs in to form a neck for those that wish to use this part as a torso alternative. It's 3/4 shorter that the standard torso so might be good for fembots or for shorter characters...

I like ports. Ports are always a good option :)

I love how creative you are with the design work here!

Thanks! I guess it's the web developer in me but I just love building tools (in this case parts) that can help stimulate creativity in others ^__^

I would be just ecstatic to see shots of things people did that I hadn't thought of, using the parts I designed.

    Torso Upgrade - model completed

I've finished modeling the torso upgrade. I've put a lot of thought into these parts and I'm pretty happy with how they've turned out. I've got some shoulder bells sketched out that will attach to these guys so that the arms don't looks so weird. But that's going to be part of the "Omega" set. ;)

I hope you guys like :D

While you've pretty much made a brand new figure using leftovers from normal Kreons, I could care less while looking at this masterpiece! When can we expect being able to order these?

looks great, though the stems for the ball joints on the shoulders seem a bit to long. feels like it should be a little shorter

I like what you're doing with the deluxe set, but since you mentioned an "omega" set I'll wait to get one of those, Then get started on a Thunderwing Kreon :D

    Very, very nice...
However, how sturdy are the balljoints in your prototype? The design on the torso upgrade make it look as the arms will slouch down due to the weight unless the sockets are tight enough.

I love where you're going with this man.

Thanks mate! I'm hoping to get the parts on a sprue and up to Shapeways tonight so I can order a prototype. Usually takes a week or two to get the parts in the mail. In the mean time I'll make the parts available at the untested price for those interested (zero mark up/ at cost)

Yeah I think you're right. I'll try shortening up the "turkey leg". The chest/torso ended up being much wider than I initially thought, but I had to make sure the pegs would be spaced properly to be bridged by Lego/Kre-o panels :/

Thanks a lot man :)  I hadn't thought about thunderwing, that'd be awesome. This set would make for a cool base to build Dreadwing/SkyQuake too. I'm retry excited about the Omega set, I got some cool ideas in mind for you guys :D

Thanks my friend, I really appreciate it. The joints on my prototype were very tight to get on, but they don't feel too tight to move around. These shoulders will actually work much better with the Omega set, but I wanted to make sure they could be used "stand alone" too. I'm trying to give folks options I haven't thought of (if that makes sense lol)

Wow, that'd be perfect for a FoC-style Grimlock and a (non-combiner) RotF Devastator! And probably a few others I can't think of right now...

if you make one specifically for Bruticus,
could you make Bruticus' proper helmet?

Hey, once you get the torso printed, could you give us a comparison with a normal Kreon?
