In 2005 I decided to come up with my own "Alernate Universe" continuation for Transformers. The basic rundown is that Cybertron ultimately is in such grave danger that it must scan a near by planet (like the Transformers do) inorder to survive. The planet scanned of course is Earth. I've been working on it off and on for the last several years. I think I'm finally in a place where I can start taking time out for it. Here you'll see some of the Decepticons from the series. First off the Reptilicons:

Dragonis - Dragon - Leader of the team. Holds the title of Decepticon Warlord, shared only by an elite few other. Powerful enough to command, but content to serve.

Spitfire - Iguana - Loyalty to Dragonis and Terratron is only outmatched by his bad temper and pyromaina.

Deathbite - Komono Dragon - Perpetual rage personified. Only finds a sense of peace in destruction

    Jawbreaker - Alligator - Fanatical, over-zealous, narrow-minded...and deadly

Shadowstrike - Chamelon - Calm and professional warrior who will use whatever methods necessary to win.

Tyranicron - Gestalt - "I have no equal." Considered by many the ultimate Decepticon weapon.

Tyranicron's final design was based heavily off of Epyon from the Gundam Wing sereis. Spitfire and Jawbreaker were designed off of two "Chango-formers" I got when I was small. I really liked them for non affliliated transforming toys. More to come in the comming weeks.

These guys are awesome, I never would have thought of basing an entire Gestalt team off reptiles but they work brilliantly, and I especially like the colours you've given them, almost like a reverse-constructicons scheme.

    I love them!

My one gripe is the cues taken from other designs. Hell, Jawbreaker is practically a recolored Snaptrap.

    I
The snaping turtle   I don't see it. Actually he was designed specifically after my old Chango Former Alligator. He was oline and brown. I'll try to find a picture. (But your point still stands. One of the Battlebots is a retooled Armada Smokescreen. Some of the designs were inspired by toys I own.) I've got a lot of originals comming though.

For what it's worth, I really LIKE that these guys use a lot of very traditional scramble-city-era design elements.

It makes them feel very toy-plausible. Moreover, from a fiction standpoint, it makes them feel as though they are related to canon characters, the shared-body-type concept has been around since day 1 of G1, and got explored very explicitly in Animated.

I appreciate anything that makes the TF universe feel cohessive and interwoven. These are very cool designs, and I think that's much more important than whether or not you managed to magically invent a brand new quadraped-to-biped transformation scheme.

Hi Neo Tallgeese, I really like your own take on these toys, they are fantastic toys but what is more impressive is the toy artwork for them, which is my absolute favourite thing about them and I too took the time and interest to create a project based on them called Robo-Synergy. More on my Deviantart if you would like to see let me know!
Overall love your bios and designs, hope to see the rest of the idea come to life!
