Small update to the forge. Some geometry is still proxy. It's always an interesting balance to model what can actually be physically produced.

The main challenge for me on this was to engineer it with the turbines spinning. That was interesting to think about.

 

Woot! Happy printer day! My Solidoodle 2 arrived today. I'm just getting it out of the box and installing necessary software. This should be fun!

So after no sleep and tweaking the printer settings, I finally printed the first successful piece of my Optimus trailer. This is one of the undercarriage parts.

Definitely needs some cleanup but overall not bad.

 

Badass.

Thanks guys! I got the first half of the trailer bed printed. I'm going to reduce some volume on the underside so it prints faster. It's really sturdy but I can't mass produce at this rate. Same thing for the back half of the bed printing right now.
