    Update: April 26, 2012
At last, my friends! Almost all of the designs have been tested and released! In this new wave, you will have the burst rifle, ion blaster, mortar launcher, rocket launcher, mini rocket launcher, healing gun, and that 3 barreled monstrosity that defies all the laws of physics!

Unfortunately, the only model that was unsuccessful was the fusion cannon. That will be adjusted and tested again.

You must be mentally prepared, because some of the accessories in the second wave is size accurate, which means to say they are huge! I'll be putting up photos soon on the photo gallery thread so that you can see them in 3D printed glory!

As I mentioned before, most of the designs are pretty snazzy...Nearly everyone has 2 different ways of holding, one for game accuracy, and the second for compatibility. They also come with plentiful 3mm clip mounts and some extra add-ons to give that extra level of customization.

The aesthetics, too, are as accurate as I could make them. Much effort has been put into adding details and such to make them look as if they just popped out of the game into reality.

A final caveat: Don't get too excited yet. Because of the unpredictable tolerances of Strong Flexible material, you might experience some fit problems with the accessories. Do read the notes below on tips to fix any potential problems that may arise. The general rule is: If too tight, clear loose powder. If too loose, use superglue.

    The Arsenal

    Neutronic Annihilator

    [IMG] [IMG]
    Order the Annihilator.

"The Neutronic Annihilator! A simple but brutal weapon, manufactured in the millions
to arm robotic armies with. Not the most accurate of designs, the laser pinpoint sight is
almost superfluous in aiding performance. Nevertheless, annihilators can be found in
armories on almost every planet, and are especially popular in seedy black markets."

The Annihilator uses a detachable 5mm peg handle that mounts in 2 different positions,
and comes with 2 3mm clip mounts on the top. Includes a compatible 3mm clip laser sight.
It is 5.75 cm in length.

Version 1.0 is tested in White Strong Flexible. Version 2.0 has a longer, detachable handle
    but has not been tested.

Note: You might have difficulty pushing the handle peg into the body of the gun.
Make sure to clear as much loose powder as possible from the body cavity and if that
does not work, use a blade to whittle away material from the sides of the peg hole,
as well as the sides of the peg.

The laser sight might be too loose to hold onto the 3mm rail. Use superglue to thicken
the necessary areas, or you can choose to glue the sight permanently on.

    Pulsar Proliferator

    [IMG] [IMG]
    Order the Proliferator.

"The Pulsar Proliferator fires a burst of 'mini-pulses' at every trigger pull, and each pulse
disintegrates on impact to discharge a potent energy packet on the target. Unfortunately,
field tests have not proven promising as the pulses dissipate over a short distance, which
basically allows longer ranged opponents to dominate the battle field. In closer ranged
combat however, the total pulsatory impact is devastating."

The Proliferator is held using a removable 5mm peg handle which can be installed in the
stock on under the main chassis for maximum adaptibility with different figures. There is a
3mm clip rail behind the pump handle for additional accessories.
The Profilerator is 7.0 cm in length.

Version 1.0 is tested in White Strong Flexible. Version 2.0 is untested, and comes with a
    longer handle.

    Shrapnel Caster

    [IMG] [IMG]
    Order the Shrapnel Caster.

"Sometimes, a single projectile is not enough. The Shrapnel Caster is specially designed
to fire hundreds of energenetic shards per shot, each shard being able to penetrate 3 inches
of dura-armour before losing structural integrity and exploding. The chassis of the caster is
able to fire on full automatic, and trigger happy owners are known to fill the sky with
thousands and thousands of deadly shards."

The rear half of the caster can be rotated to adapt to different figures' hands. The pump
handle rail can also serve as a 3mm clip mount.
The Shrapnel Caster is 6.7 cm in length.

Version 1.0 is tested in White Strong Detail. Version 2.0 has an improved longer handle and
    adjusted for game accuracy.

    Positronic Piecemaker

    [IMG] [IMG]
    Order the Piecemaker.

“For millions of solar cycles, the Piecemaker pistol has served loyally in its armies, acting
as the go-to sidearm for the lowest in the ranks to field commanders. Its round drum-like
fuel cell contains a dose of pure, frenetic energy, which is inelegantly channelled through its
simple ion barrel assembly. Even though newer technological advancements led to the
development of better weaponry like the Zerodivisate Beamer rifle, many a scout still swear
by the Piecemaker’s simple, robust design and its still impressive capability of removing heads.”

The pistol's rear handle assembly can be rotated for different holding positions, and it has
2 3mm clip rails for mounting accessories. The Piecemaker is 6.8cm in length.

Because of the shape of the ammo drum, there will be a lot of loose powder or uncured
material within the pistol shell. Use a toothpick, wire or old toothbrush to clear the loose
    material.

Version 1.0 is tested in White Strong and Flexible. Version 2.0 has a redesigned, improved
    handle assembly.

    Gyrocentrix Asunderizer

    Order the Asunderizer.

“A recent addition to the galactic arsenal, the Gyrocentrix Asunderizer is designed for
scouts and light troopers by virtue of its high ratio between physical size and energy output.
A mini cyclotron reactor within charges up over a period of 15.6 microcycles, gathering
enough energy to tear apart even the largest soldiers in 1 shot. Unfortunately, mini-cyclotron
technology is still new and unstable, and many have reported less than feasible results during
field tests. Some candidates even have their appendages torn apart from exploding reactors,
necessitating emergency amputations and replacements. Nevertheless, the most suicidal of our
hunters took to this new weapon with great glee.”

The Asunderizer comes in 2 parts; the rear handle segment, and the front rotating barrel.
The rear half provides 2 3mm clip rails and the barrel tube has 3 3mm peg holes, all for
    maximising customizability.

    The Asunderizer is 4.4cm long.

Version 1.0 is tested in White, Strong and Flexible. Version 2.0 has a longer handle for increased adaptibility.

    Hyperfire Fragmentator

    [IMG] [IMG]
    Order the Fragmentator.

“As the war dragged on for centuries, energy and ammunition supplies have dwindled and commanders are
issued emphatic instructions to conserve the use of ammo. The Hyperfire Fragmentator was created in response
to that need. It discharges tight photon packets in controlled bursts, which are supplementarily accelerated
through the use of Lorentztatic rails along the barrel. This process allows the wielder of the weapon to engage
middle to long distance targets accurately, reducing the possibility of missed shots and wasted ammo. A smart,
smooth operating weapon for chaotic times.”

The Fragmentator possesses a ball-jointed handle assembly that allows the handle to be located within the
weapon’s chassis for show-accuracy, or under it for maximum adaptability. The bar at the top is actually a 3 mm
clip rail that can be used to mount compatible accessories.

The Fragmentator is 7.85 cm in length.

This model has been successfully tested in White Strong Flexible.

Note: In mode 'A', where the hand is supposed to be 'sheathed' over by the gun body, the handle is
supposed to point up, and the end of the handle will clip onto a slot at the top of the cavity. If it is too tight
to be clipped in, use a blade to slowly remove material from the handle 'nubs' until the handle assembly clips in properly.

    Zerodivisate Beamer

    Order the Beamer.

“As part of the main arsenal of the venerable Seeker squadrons, the Beamer has gained somewhat
of a notoriety among enemies and subjugated populations. Many a tale has been told of commanders
being instantly vaporised and entire armies thrown into disarray, all from a single shot of a lone Seeker agent.
And where is this Seeker? A hundred miles away. Many worlds and their native species have been
conquered this way, using the most expedient of strategies.”

The Beamer measures an impressive 10cm length, and comes with a unique sniper scope which can be
mounted on the 3mm clip rail on the top rear. It can be held normally with its 5mm peg,
or it can be held with the figure’s fist sheath within the Beamer chassis.

This model is tested in White Strong Flexible. Version 2.0 has a round handle end for tighter grips.

    Ionomatrix Judicator

    [IMG] [IMG]
    Order the Judicator.

“A huge, hefty weapon. The Judicator is the go-to weapon for field commanders and heavy soldiers, for very
good reasons. Not including those massive personal artillery platforms, the damage output of the Judicator is one
of the highest among our infantry weapons. It is very accurate and reliable. Alas, it is also notoriously rare.
The Judicators are manufactured in a different epoch, where the strength of our civilisation is the strongest.
The performance of this weapon is a testament to the artistry, engineering and wisdom of that past.
Unfortunately, thousands are lost through the centuries no thanks to war, attrition and the misappropriations of
    the under market.”

Due to the nature of its rotating handle, the Judicator will require some assembly. It comes in a kit of 5 pieces.
The handle can be positioned to the side or the bottom of the chassis, and the barrel is rotatable as well.

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

The Judicator is 9.75 cm in length.

This model has been successfully tested in White Strong Flexible.

Note: During assembly, you might find it difficult to insert the pegs into the corresponding holes.
Try doing a 'dry-fit' by pushing in the peg without attempting to assemble, and rotate the pieces until the material
grinds down and rotation snugness is at a comfortable level. Only then should you try mounting the handle
    sub-assembly onto the main body.

    Atomic Obliterator

    Get Obliterated here.

“The Obliterator cannon is huge. Not just in terms of its physical size, but its focused fusion core warheads
can penetrate the most hardened of bunker walls through sheer overwhelming levels of energy.
Even though most commanders are competent enough to wield this monster of a weapon, only the
most power hungry, egomaniacal generals choose the Obliterator as their signature weapon.
It is as if no other weapon can provide them the rush of pure power that the Obliterator does.

It is even rumoured that some legendary warriors harness the dark matter from dying stars to
boost their cannons to unimaginable levels of power, enabling them to destroy planetoids with a single hit.
As with most rumours, claims of these capabilities are unsubstantiated.”[/I]

The Atomic Obliterator requires some assembly, and more adventurous customizers will find out that
the space in the cannon allows for installation of an LED and a switch. Two handle pieces have been
provided per set, and they can be mounted on sockets located front and rear of the cannon.
An additional ‘fusion pistol’ is also included to round up the entire set.

The Obliterator is 10.8 cm long.

This model has been tested in White Strong and Flexible and Alumide.

    HEAT Artillerator

    Order the Artillerator.

“Scorched earth - This phrase brings up many images, but none are stronger than those of companies of troops
armed to the teeth with Artillerators on the move to kill a city. These soldiers advance slowly, launching an
unceasing hail of magmatic shells to soften up the very tectonic underbase of the city itself. There is usually
nothing left of a once thriving place, except a lake of molten metal and the hollow screams of the lifesparks within it.”

The HEAT Artillerator comes in a set of 4 pieces: The chassis, the handle, the mini-mortar launcher and the
connecting mortar clip. With the mortar clip attached to the mini-mortar launcher, you can mount the latter on the
main chassis or on any compatible 3mm rail. The handle segment is on a rotating joint to allow many different
    holding configurations.

The Artillerator is 7.2 cm long.

This model has been successfully tested in White Strong Flexible.

Note: This model is very hollow. If you don't use a toothpick or wire to clear the powder from all the barrels,
you will find the Artillerator leaking powder for the next few weeks.

    Quadricore Explodator

    [IMG] [IMG]
    Order the Explodator.

“As the flight technologies of the enemy grew more advanced, so has our missile guidance systems.
The Quadricore Explodator employs high speed, thermoexplodite concussion warheads with intelligent energy
seeking sensors that can take down all but the most skilled of fliers. The ominous shadow of a nightmarish threat
has been reduced to something more manageable.”

The Explodator can be separated into 2 pieces: A ‘fist missile’ launcher and a quad barrel heavy blaster!
Both elements have a 3mm rail on the side for customization.

The assembled Explodator is 5.4 cm in length.

This model has been successfully tested in White Strong Flexible.

    Quad Implodators

    Order the Implodators here.

This is a pair of compact sized rocket launchers based on the appearance of the Explodators above. They are much
smaller and are suited for use on vehicular forms and smaller figures. They use 5mm peg handles and each has a
3mm side mounted rail. You will get a mirrored pair with each set.

Each Implodator is 3 cm in length.

This model has been successfully tested in White Strong Flexible.

    Ameliorator Foci

    Order the Ameliorator.

"First Aid ain't what it used to be."

The Ameliorator comes in a 3 piece kit which requires some assembly. The front focusing barrel is rotatable.

The Ameliorator Foci is 6.3 cm in length.

This model has been successfully tested in White Strong Flexible.

Note: It will be difficult to remove the centre rod once you plug it into the main body. Do all your painting and
    detailing first before final assembly.

    Cosmic Defenestrator

    [IMG] [IMG]
    Order the Defenestrator.

“None but the mightiest soldiers are able to wield the Cosmic Defenestrator. Originally designed for anti-flier
defenses on orbital space stations, the Defenestrator has seen action in all theatres of war. This is very much due
to the massive firepower it can bring to bear on its enemies. Its special recoil-absorbing tri-barrel system ensures
a insanely high rate of fire of high-calibre shells while preventing the arms of the gunner from being sheared off
    by the massive forces involved.

Particular flier squadrons made it their modus operandi to load up on magazines of oxidizate shells, achieve
altitude and let loose with a relentless cloud of metal eating projectiles. Even with the horrific consequences we
have witnessed, no soldier was ever caught and tried for war crimes.”

The Cosmic Defenestrator comes with a main handle that can be mounted in 2 positions, as well as an auxiliary
handle on a balljoint. This second handle can be clipped onto any 3mm rail, and can be used to offer additional
support for the Defenestrator’s weight. Also, this set comes with a laser sight accessory.

The Defenestrator is 10.9 cm in length.

This model has been successfully tested in White Strong Flexible.

    Conclusion
After working with Shapeways for countless months, I've learnt enough to be able to make models that contains sharp, beautiful detailing even on their fuzziest materials. These accessories are made to showcase just that, and I'm pretty pleased with the results!

Comments, critique, suggestions are all appreciated!

Hehe, an artists work is never done, right?

As for cutting corners, I could live without the Repair Ray and the Thermo Rocket Launcher but I do want the Fusion Cannon. My eventual Brawl repaint won't be complete without it. :)  And yeah, the turret weapons I would be surprised if you did. While cool they are a bit superfluous. I could also live without the Frag Launcher but suspect others would want it more than I do. Same for the Plasma Cannon, but I believe you already mentioned working on that.

These look good FB, as you are well aware. There's only so many times I can continue to say, "OMG U R TEH BESTST EVAR!". Your retirement seems to be rather productive so my wallet hates you.

What do you recommend? Should I sit and wait for the potential weapons pack or just go ahead and order a number of these now?

These look great! I dig there's two different holding options.

As for other weapons, I don't see why you would need to do a fusion cannon, considering we already got one with the WFC Megatron toy. :p

You know...there are always moments when you are designing something so iconic, you put in the extra effort to make sure it's as good as possible...
    Presenting the ATOMIC OBLITERATOR!

And yes, I'm going down the LED circuit route instead of the simpler, 'model kit' route. The whole cannon can be disassembled to install a LED circuit inside! Comes with working button. Hope you guys like it!

I have an idea. What about making a new hand plug connector for each WFC figures? You plug out the hand of Optimus figure, unscrew at the elbow, or plug out the section below the shoulder. Then create a connector plug to connect Optimus's hand, or rather his shoulder or elbow at one end. At another of the connector plug, it connects to the weapon. That way, you can have the weapons to have standard points/plugs/pegs. That way, FOC and WFC figures that haves detachable arm section, we can just take off their hand, put a figure specific connector, and attach any weapon of your set. I know WFC Optimus and WFC Bumblebee have detachable hand section at the shoulder. WFC Megatron don't (unless you pull out the metal pin). Anyhow it is just suggestion.
Main Point: Remove the figure's hand section at various point. Attach a specific figure connector. Attach any weapon. The weapons have universal peg/plug. The figure specific connector has two plugs/pegs/tabs, one for the figure arm, unique, another is to the weapon, universal.

    Pro:
We can have the weapon integrate to the hand like in the game.
All weapons can be used as the plug/peg/tab at the weapon is universal
We can attach weapon to both hand (2 times figure specific connector)
Some figure's arm aren't detachable, but they might be modded into having detachable arm.
Figure from other line that have detachable arms can take on the WFC arm/weapon integrated style as well.
Universal 5mm or 3mm port? I don't know much about this.

    Con:
Some figure's arm aren't detachable, they just to hold it the normal human way.
The need to design specific connector for each figure, (I know this is the most tedious part)
The need to modify some figure to have detachable hand section.
No integration in alternate mode, except maybe for some lucky figure.
Dual hand weapon might have some problem, as some weapons aren't symmetrical. There might need to be left and right version of the weapon, for example the heavy weapon that are bulky to the side. Or some workaround of the weapon's mechanic itself.

    Hi zemega,

Thanks for typing in such an indepth suggestion! It shows that you are passionate about it and are serious enough to push it on to reality and I really respect that. Since you've typed such a long response, I felt compelled to deliver a similar body of text.

Someone else on the boards have suggested this idea to me before, and I fully understand where you two are going with it. I told him 'no', that the goal of this collection is a line of cool looking weapon accessories to fit as many different figures as possible, and with that I add a few caveats: With as little to no modding as possible, and as simple a solution (and design line up) as possible. What this means is I want the accessories to be zero fuss, a buyer can order a bunch of weapons, put them on his figures and not worry about the different types of extra connectors to order.

Currently as I see it, your suggestion looks like this, simply:

    PRO:
    More game-accuracy.

    CON:
Parts-forming in alt mode - The connector+weapon has to be switched with the forearm during transformation, and in both modes you are going to have spare pieces lying around.

Specific design connectors for each character - I've checked; indeed all the WFC figures use a different swivel joint on their upper arms, so I'll need to design one for each character (Soundwave, Bumblebee, Optimus). This is going to cost me in design time and cost the buyers money in extra components. Still, it is a good idea for game accuracy, and I may do it someday. Just not now.

The left and right issue is not a biggie to me as I can easily released a mirror flipped version as situation demands it. But I'll like to avoid doing a specific connector for every figure because of time, money, and the fact I dislike having too many complicated entries on my shapeways page. Ultimately the costs+prices will be passed down to the buyers and I don't want that to happen.

I hope you understand my concerns...

    Ariel
