Looks fantastic man. I can't wait to order them.

Though a suggestion. While making it not game accurate you might want to make it able to be held like a normal gatling gun, ie two handed and heavy. I'm sure people would love this for that as well as being game accurate.

Do you mean like, to have a second perpendicular handle on the top of the main body?

Yeah, exactly. My words were rebelling against me so I couldn't articulate that.

Actually you might be able to pull it off all on one side. If you could some how make it into that style by simply having it upside down.

Just got in my latest order that included the assault riffle and the shotgun (and 20 more scrapplets!).

I like them FB. The only figure I have at hand to test them out with is my repainted Wheeljack (see sig for details). The handle for the shotgun seems a little too short in under slung mode. Wheeljacks hands had difficulty with them.

He also had problems holding the riffle. Again the handle seems a little too short. It takes some finagling to get Wheeljack/Burnout to hold it. I think the removable scope is nifty but just makes for a piece that will likely get lost. I think it would be okay to just make it a part of the gun.

Over all, damn fine work man. This riffle is so detailed it's just beautiful to look at. The shotgun too. I doubt I'll be buying more of these specific ones (because I don't need any more) but I can't WAIT to get my hands on the others. I had ordered 3 assault riffles because who doesn't need a good gun?

    Damn fine work.

That's very good feedback, and thank you very much!

    For the shotgun:
The shotgun handle is already 7mm long, which is very long compared to most other weapon handles. Can I assume it's too short because there is some difficulty reaching the thumb grip in underslung mode? Have you tried mounting the handle 'conventionally'? There are positions under the shotgun to mount the handles.

    Rifle:
Roger on the short length of the handle. I've started work on version 2 which will resolve that.
I'm still debating on permanently attaching the scope piece though. Almost all the models in this series have compatible 'add-ons' and it was intended that they can be switched around.

You can still glue it on if you're afraid of losing it :thumb

Thanks for the feedback man. I should be getting my shipment in a few days as well so I can implement all the changes.

Now, to round up the rest of the immediate family! Here's the heavy artillery...

    Introducing the HEAT Artillerator!

A semi-huge mortar launcher that comes with a rotatable handle section and a c-clip compatible mini-mortar launcher on the side. The latter can be mounted to other accessories as a slap on grenade launcher similar to the M203. How about that?

    And the Quadricore Explodator!

    [IMG] [IMG]

Not just a simple 5mm compatible missile launcher, the Explodator can be separated into 2 distinct components. The first piece goes over and sheaths a figure's fist to form a 'fist launcher', to be semi accurate to the game. The second portion can be used as a massive quad barrel cannon!

    * * * * *

So, at this point you may ask: What now, fb? You have been showing us all these screenshots and we can only make orders for 2 of the smallest ones! Also, what about the weapons not mentioned before? The turret guns? The healing ray?

Well, to answer that, I'll be getting my shipment hopefully by end of this week, so I'll be able to release wave 1 soon. In this wave you will have:

    Neutronic Annihilator (assault rifle)
    Pulsar Profilerator (shotgun)
    Shrapnel Caster (auto shotgun)
    Positronic Piecemaker (pistol)
    Gyrocentrix Asunderizer (plasma gun)
    Hyperfire Fragmentator (burst rifle)

And once the rest have been tested, I'll be able to release wave 2, which consists of:

    Zerodivisate Beamer (sniper rifle)
    HEAT Artillerator (mortar launcher)
    Quadricore Explodator (rocket launcher)
    Ionomatrix Judicator (heavy assault rifle)
    Atomic Obliterator (heavy cannon)
    Cosmic Defenestrator (OMG idunnowhatisthat)

At this point, I'll be able to make better decisions on how to release them in packs. All of them will be released individually, but as Shapeways has a 'bulk discount' for larger volume models, compiling them in assorted packs can save you some dough.

Now, my question to you is, do you guys want the healing ray? And too, if I estimate the nucleon shock cannon and ion displacer are going to set you back about $40 - $50 each for WSF, would you be willing to go for it? This estimated price came from my initial quote of the largest model so far, the Defenestrator (X12) which costs $30.

I am seriously pumped up now seeing all the weapons completed and put together. I can't wait to get my models in! And if they all work out dandy I'm gonna be on cloud 9 sky high...
And oh, the pictures should be all roughly in scale, so you can get a rough gauge on their sizes.

    Comments welcome!

    Ariel

Correct on the shotgun. The handle is just too short to reach in underslung mode. I didn't try conventionally but it will probably be fine.

I could also live without the healing ray. I plan on ordering at least one of every weapon so a set would be welcome if it reduces the cost. It is unnerving to hear they're in that price range but I will be ordering a set regardless.

if you could do a pack of the Null Ray, EMP Shotgun and Ion Blaster that'd be perfect, as awesome as all the other designs are i dont think i will be going past those models. At least until more FOC figures are announced. With the healing ray and Nucleon canon neither interest me, i think the Nucleon canon would be better suited to ABS molding instead of printing due to its size.

On another note, hurry up and release the null ray! :lol

    Thanks Nick! :thumb

    Alright, let's do this.

After futzing around with my sketches and looking at audience reactions, I have decided not to do the Ion Displacer nor the Shock cannon. I estimate it's going to cost $70-ish for either one, and while I know some fans will make their orders regardless of the price, it's too little to be justified.

    Sorry Onslaught!

I will be doing the repair gun though, if only for the sake of completing the set. Besides, it looks pretty nifty (and scary) for what is to be a 'friendly' cannon, and you always need something for those dang robo-zombies.

    Nullray, EMP, Ion, got it.

What dkr7 said give me an idea. Now there is a possibility that once the accessories are all up, people will be making 'special requests' for custom sets like what dkr7 did. As much as I like to, I will not be able to entertain all these requests in the future and it's also going to make my Shapeways library a mess.

What I am proposing now is until next wednesday April 18th, all of you will get to recommend your set lineup, and I will pick the top 4 - 5 most practical or attractive suggestions to put on my Shapeways library. Each set can have from 3 up to 8 weapons from the assortments I've already shown (including the repair ray), and a little writeup or justification on why your set lineup make sense and is awesome.

I'm bulletproof, fire away, fire away.
