At "Distant Thunder" we have not been idle while waiting for prototypes
and business details to finalize for the TSD-Alpha project.

In the mean-time some of us have been working on giving TF: Prime
    Voyager Megatron his armament dues.

Here is some basic concept line-art of what we have been working on:
(Please keep in mind that these are preliminary concept art and are not
by any means technically accurate drawings of the final product.)

    Cannon:

Cannon with replacement alt-mode mounting block:

Cannon with arm mount/sword assembly (Blade Retracted):

Cannon with arm mount/sword assembly (Blade Extended):

The current design we are working on will have a light-up feature
for the main-gun. The arm-mount/sword assembly will likely come
with the sword parts in both tansparent and opaque.

We are also working on some other items to include in the kit to give
the figure more combat options as depicted in the show.

When it is finished and test printed it will be available from Shapeways as a kit.
Or through DT/PG as a painted and completed version.

The completed version will come with the light-up mechanism
    completed and installed.

As it will on mine as well.
    >>Grin

I like the base mold very, very much. But the "clockwork horror" he comes
with is positively terrible. So after looking at a lot of sample art and screen-
caps. Me and one of the team decided to rectify Hasbro's mistake.

With a little luck it will be ready for order from Shapeways by the end of
March. Keep in mind we may have to wait a little while for Shapeways to
get our proof models in hand. After it passes an "in hand" inspection it
    will be made available.

Do you think it's possible to adjust his height so he'll be at least tall as the FE Voyager Optimus figure?

We haven't really put any time in on his superstructure.

Maybe some replacement feet with ball jointed ankles could help?
What is the height difference between them?

Oh and after clearing it with him, I can share who is helping with the TFP Megatron upgrade kit.
I am pleased and honored to have...

MoonBaseTom on board as the 3D technician on this project. I figure when
making a cannon find the best cannon maker around.

We should have some progress to share in the not too distant future.

We are currently doing the technical side of this project.
When we get it all tinkered out we will have some pricing information.

    Suggestions!

Yes!!! Thank you so much for making something like this; I thought I was going to have to forge up one myself, but this looks like it will be perfect!

Since you're taking the time with this mold, might I suggest that you consider improving on a few of his other aesthetic flaws?

For example, his shoulder armor parts are much too round, whereas compared to the show, they reach out more and aren't so tall. On the toy, they come over his head and make him look like he's shrugging all the time. Could you form some new shoulder pads as well, possibly as a separate kit?

Lastly, this figure's head is rather dirpy. The face is inaccurate to the show model and has awkward kitty lips with wide, blank eyes, and the chin spikes don't clear his chin and meet quite like they're supposed to. Along with the gun and these shoulders, could you guys make a new head with a slightly longer stalk on the ball to free up the articulation as well?

All these fixes would totally redeem this figure and make it the best Megatron ever, especially after customization.

Thanks so much for listening to my ideas, and I do hope you have the time, patience, and willingness to carry this out. Seeing your first designs shows great promise, and I eagerly look forward to prototypes. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.

I do not have much issue with the actual figure, at least none that involve massive
part replacement short of it's armaments of course.

The biggest obstacles to new shoulder armor and a new head is that the intensely
curved shapes both areas would require.

A new longer neck could help with his ability to turn his head more. As for the actual
sculpt of the head, I think it is okay, the face having a darker metallic paint would help.
That and painting his eyes red.

The shoulder armor... It needs two things. Better struts with an added joint in the middle.
And more open balljoints so the armor can rest a bit lower.

Both a new neck joint and new armor struts might be doable. I will add them to the
    "Idea List".

How about an accurate back that plugs into the hole on his back?

Is it possible to make new taller legs for the RID Voyager Megatron so that he'll be as tall as the FE Voyager Optimus?
