    Here we are

The arm fit was dead on the money.

The electronics fit in the tray perfectly.

Light up works well, very well. Although the photo is exaggerating the illumination.

    Looks great!

I don't suppose a painted version will be in the offing?

Awesome, awesome, awesome. Was this printed in Shapeways or the "other place"?

There might be fit issues where the button piece sits in the hole in the shell, but I think that's only for SLS prints. But if you are offering only high detail prints it should be alright.

    Great job, guys :thumb

It was printed at Shapeways in FUD. One of the images is without the
core installed so the button is missing in that one. It all came together
as planned after all that waxy stuff was removed.

Glad you folks like what you see. We are tweaking the Alt-mode mount
a little and working on making it recast capable. Not much further folks.

    Looks VERY nice. :)

I finally caved and ordered a Voyager Megs from amazon last night (at about 4am my time :p ), so it should get here either this weekend or next week.

I'll definitely be ordering one of these beauts. How thick do the parts have to be for the prints to be physically stable? These look to be about 2mm thick at most. (I ask because i'm making some show-accurate arms, wings and weapons for my FE Arcee)

Also, does the sword clip together in any way? Or is it just held together by friction when extended?

The blades are just a bit over 2mm, If I remember 2.3mm. Also the blades currently don't clip together, the FUD material is frail and such a thing would probly break right off.

For now the marketing model is:

    Standard: $30-40 ish.
[[Printed at Shapeways and cleaned/inspected, painted, and assembled.]]

    Deluxe: $45-60 ish.
[[Printed by a higher grade outfit, and cleaned/inspected, painted, and assembled.]]

    Wallet Crusher!!!: $80-95 ish.
[[Printed in the highest quality resolution and materials, you know the rest.]]

As stated before we are exploring recasting as a possible method for production.
But it has to work correctly after casting which can be a bit daunting with a
    design like the EOD kit.

I have made notes of some of the folks interested in this, but to make sure
I do not miss anybody please PM me and let me know which verson you are
interested in. That way this thread doesn't choke on "Me too" posts.

Would a recast be possible for those who wouldn't be interested in any internal electronics? Just wondering if leaving all that out makes the recasting process any simpler (I don't know how the pieces are split for this thing so recasting might not even be viable depending on that).

Very awesome looking by the way.
