The difficulty would be in the fact that right now Megatron is completely proportionate. Realistically, the entire figure would have to be scaled up about 10% to be the right height compared to FE Prime, and 5% compared to RID Prime. Since all of his proportions are right, you couldn't just add height to the upper legs between the balljoint and the swivel joint, and all the other joints on him are held together by pins, which is beyond the ability of most casual customizers and wouldn't be worth the time invested.

Looks like we are a bit early on the update:
Here are the images of the model we are about to put through the
prototype phase: (The fourth image is all the parts in the kit.)
Also, The cannon does light up when completed.

We are working on sourcing the kits.

It looks like we can offer it in a few different options.
    Option 1: Through Shapeways.
This would be a two stage order of opaque and transparent parts.
    Pros: Cheaper
Cons: texture and quality have been unpredictable at shapeways lately.
Other: if you send us a copy of the receipt email and your address we
will send you the parts and batteries for the light-up gimmick.

Option 2: Through us directly DT/PG
You can order it through us here at the 'Group' and we can get a much, much
better quality print. We do this by ordering the production through a different
company. To do this optimally we have produce them at least two at a time.
We also can install the electrical harness and prime and/or paint the kit for the
    purchaser.
Pros: Much higher quality product all around, LED gimmick installation, and
    we can offer finishing options.
Cons: More expensive. Also it may take a little longer to get in hand.

Some of our options are that you can order partial versions of the kit.
A: Main gun: The gun parts and the front peg only.
B: Gun and Altmode mount: As above plus the replacement vehicle mode mount.
    C: Bracer/sword: Just the bracer/sword assembly.

When we have final solid numbers on production costs I will post them here with
    ordering instructions.

Let me know the price and date of when you want to do it as the "Group".

I'm in as I'm loving all the mods for the PRID toys.

MB Tom has compiled some images that shows the electrical internals and
and the assembly in a "Blown Up" style:

A "ballpark" price for these are by the fabrication format:
((For full kits with the cannon and the bracer/sword))

    Shapeways:
A: $40+ (A mix of WSF and FUD)
B: $60+ (All FUD (WARNING: May be brittle))

    Through the "Group Workshop"
    $90+ ( I know, I know...)
These are made with a much higher grain and durable material. It has a 1/600th
inch resolution and is tougher than WSF from Shapeways. But unfortunately for that
kind of quality, it costs quite a bit more. That is why we are willing to do the
electrical install, and finishing if requested on the high end kits. I have no problem
with spending some time doing wiring and paint work to provide a better product.

To clarify. With the prices above we are not making bank on these kits.
Both versions are literally a "break even" cost model. These will cost me and Tom
as much for us to have, as it would you the buying public.

If we can find a more economic option. We will gladly do our best to use that
opportunity to present a better price to our customers.

Very impressive work! This is the type of accuracy that Hasbro should be striving for instead of that lackluster LED mechtech gimmick. That said, I'm not all that surprised at the prices given the exacting detail and electronics involved, this being a custom project. Quality ain't cheap. I'll have to think about getting this or not once my Voyager Megs comes in.

I'm very interested, I have two questions price and with the gun be solidly built like an original part out of sturdy solid plastic and the sword blades will those be hard plastic or a more flexible like the first edition prime sword. I'm not saying make it as bendable but having a certain degree of flex seems better to me then a hard plastic that could snap.

Personally the led part isnt a major factor for me I just want that show accurate feel.

The blade component will be available in both opaque and clear.
The opaque blades will be durable with some flex, but not floppy.
The transparent version will be straight as a board but somewhat
brittle due to the material's properties.

I saw the potential $90 price after doing some further reading that's allot to ask for just a gun. I can understand meeting costs but that's more than the city commander unit that was made for classics ultra magnus and that what an entire armor and weapon system.

I was wondering could it cut costs if you cut down the number of parts in the molding process like say making the gun body two main pieces as a basic gun aside from the blade and silver trim pieces that could cost less then a deluxe version with the LED system that would cost more??

I can see paying around $30 to max $40 before shipping costs but $90 is far to out of my league and I'm sure many others. Which is a shame cause the design is amazing and truly would complete the figure.

A: These are not molded parts, they are 3d printed via a rapid prototype service.
Having these made by injection molding would require at least $12k in seed
money for having the molding plates made.

B: For the budgetary window you are describing I recommend the
Shapeways manufacturing option: $40+ (A mix of WSF and FUD)

No worries. I know more about it now than I ever wanted to.
We are actively researching options that may produce the best mix
of cost and quality. If we find a better priced option rest assured we
    will share it.
