All of the sudden, I want to see Beast Wars updated with these being used. They're just that awesome. As for the next character, uh.......I'm gonna vote for Rampage or Rattrap.
Thank you, thank you all who have replied or visited the thread. Getting feedback like this only reinforces the energy I want to continue to give this project. I'm also happy that people want to see these used in the BW episodes since this is the idea I had when starting this off, who knows if I can quit my job and give this my 100% attention then that can materialize much much sooner. Nevertheless I am committed to taking this as far as I can. Thankyou all, and please keep checking in for more developments on this, or drop into my site blog where I also post updates on this and other projects : Damaged Design Click to Enter
Just to add to what Ryoku said, if Bayformers even looked half as good as these maybe the movies and toy line wouldn't suck so bad. The plot would still be crap but at least the designs wouldn't be walking piles of scrap metal. This is more like in the style of fan art of what the movie designs should have been. I've seen lots of fan art of the movie characters done in that realistic style but in a way that actually homages the characters they're suppose to be instead of being unrecognizable. Anyway, I always thought Buzzsaw was named wrong because he's a Maximal, he's a bee... sort of... and his head is very similar to Goldbug. Basically all it's missing is the mouth plate but that helmet is dead on and even... I believe... the same color.
Bay isn't innocent. Anyway lets get back to the Beast Wars updates and not let Micheal Bay ruin this like he does everything else.
Maybe not, but the letters sure are. Like you said, I'm looking forward to the next one, this modern take is truly impressive.
Gah, who ever is next the suspense is killing me! "I hope it's Cheetor! Oh! Or Megatron! Terrasaur! Rhinox! GAAAAHHH!" Avatar-Foaming Mouth Guy - YouTube
He said he was working on a Predacon but hasn't said who it is. We do know it won't be Cheetor or Rhinox sense they're both Maximals.
Czacen, you've made a Beast Wars fan very happy; Your creative efforts are nothing short of astounding mate and I utterly can't wait to see what you do with Dinobot II (My personal favourite character/figure from the show). I think your modern approach to their animalistic textures and far more realistic proportions, yield just the right amount of 'upgrading' the characters need to meet a more contemporary look - At any rate, simply stunning achievements dude.
Hi guys, looks like I missed some of the action over the last few posts. Seems like some movie bots tried to take on the BW fans, glad there wasn't too much collateral damage . Anyhow, I haven't been working on a Predacon over the last few days, instead I tried to get some work done with an environment and integrating one of these new furry characters into it. Gave both my pc's quite a bit of a workout but the preliminary developments seem quite positive. So here a little something to tease you guys a little more, and thankyou all for all the immense support and really really kind words that keep me energised in this project. A test shot of Primal on primitive earth. *EDIT* - Image updated and moved to next page
Dude, if that had a jet effect coming from his back it'd be a perfect piece of stand-alone art. Well, even without it it still works. Or rather, people who can't have an open mind and individuals who like both series immensely, since that is possible, you know.
I know exactly what you mean about the jets missing, upsets me too. Maybe I'll look into what I can do to upgrade optimus in this image.
The Prime Jets would make all the difference between flying and falling in this picture. It looks like you caught him in a moment when his jets just stopped working.
I am SUPER tempted to make this my desktop. You are doing spectacular work man. Please don't stop any time soon.
YES YES YES YES! Looks amazing dude! Holy crap @ that background! Before, I didn't care about re-doing the cgi for Beast Wars, but...now I'd REALLY like to see it done! As for characters in general, I'd like to see as many non-Transmetal characters go through this process, IN the show or not (even BWII or BWN guys like Stampy or B'Boom/Apache), I just like animals a LOT in general, and wanna see more. Transmetals are great and everything, but we know robots in general too well, let's see some "organic" beasties!
It would be nice to see BWII and BWN characters done this way. They were never CGI to begin with so the difference would be even more dramatic than this is. As for the Transmetals, they had more Organic robot modes and doing it in this style would actually bring out more of the Organic looking elements in the designs. I'm not sure the beast modes would look any different but I'd love to at least see the robot modes done this way.
That may hit way too many "eww" switches. Seeing an all-chrome animal turn into a hairy robot would just be weird.
But that's what they were anyway. That's the main reason why all of the cheetah print is on Cheetor's robot mode and not his beast mode. Besides there isn't that much organic on the robot modes. Beast Machines would hit a lot more "eww" switches sense even if the designs were updated in this style they'd still look like crap. I love Beast Machines as a series but even I agree that the Maximals are ugly as hell... except for Cheetor because his TM2 design won that title for me.
