Hi everyone, thanks to some great constructive crits I went back and redid 25% of the optimus cg model, right from the toes, to the thighs, biceps, parts of the back, shoulder and additionally the pime-jets. Thanks for the feedback guys, here's the updated image. As of now the jet effect is a painted in piece, I am researching into how to make it in 3D and look more like the afterburner effect of fighter jets. Hope you guys like the new piece :)

In all seriousness, forgoing the over exaggeration, all the work you have done is spectacular. You should feel immensely proud of yourself. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Oh, man. Can't believe I missed the last couple updates. Loving that Optimus shot. Buzzsaw looks good, too.

I like the idea, but I really think the beast mode colors should also be different than the regular Dinobot.

I didn't recolor the beast mode for Optimus Primal either. I pretty much just copied what SG Optimus Prime does where blue turns to black and red turns to purple. The optics also swap from red to blue as they do on all SG Characters.

I didn't try to repaint the beast mode on either of them because I just couldn't find a way to justify it in my mind. I mean they're suppose to look like real animals in beast mode so unlike a vehicle where they can just be whatever color you paint them to be the beast modes have to still look like something that would exist in nature.

Although I suppose a purple tarantula isn't really a natural occurrence either so maybe I can cheat the colors? I'm not sure though, I still feel like it needs to look natural.

Anyway, the other problem I have is even if I did change the colors what would I change them to? I'm using Optimus Prime and Grimlock for color references as to what their SG colors might be but that doesn't give me any clues as to how to treat their beast modes.

I'm willing to give it a try if you have any suggestions as to the best way to go about it. In the mean time I'm just curious which version of SG Dinobot's robot mode you like better.

Also just so you know, Waspinator is kind of impossible for me to do. I've heard that Animated Wasp changed colors after he went crazy but to me he was always the same color scheme. Same thing with the Constructicons who apparently changed colors after joining the Decepticons. I'm color blind so that whole color change was completely lost on me. There's only so much I can do by looking at numbers in Photoshop to try and do recolors and I just think Waspinator is too difficult to recolor without being able to see what I'm suppose to be coloring. I kinda think SG Waspinator would use Animated Wasp's "pre-crazy" color scheme but I just have no way to color that. I could try but it'll look like crap.

Do you mind your renders being put to use as a desktop background?

Hi everyone, thanks for continuing to follow the thread. Here's a piece I did a few days ago. Was holding off on posting it since I was over saturating the thread too often. Hope you guys like it :)

@Saberfrost01 : Hi, do you mean editing these images and making your own image as a desktop or just applying these as they exist currently? As long as you don't edit them or use them for scraps I don't have any issues with you using them as they are for desktop backgrounds. I'm hoping people wont dissect these for their own montages.

Love the night picture and great work on the sword renders but I think he's holding them backwards because of the way the tip is curved. I'd have to look at a picture of him using the swords in the show to be sure but it looks like the sharp edges of the swords would be facing towards himself.

So it is. Good thing I said I wasn't sure. He rarely used them in the show so it's kinda hard to remember a small detail like that.

On a side note, it was never actually in the show but is there any chance of you rendering Primal with his Skull Mace from the toy?

Your previous renders on blank backgrounds were amazing as-is, but seeing Optimus flying through the night sky and soaring above dense forests and mountain backdrops is absolutely amazing. Did you do the backgrounds too? Either way, it looks perfect and I love seeing him in an actual setting. Really brings the whole image to life.

If I could make one request, it'd be to see the others that you've already rendered placed in a prehistoric Earth setting too. :)
