I got the idea when I saw how bright the LED in the EOD cannon was.

The hood is mounted on a ball joint so you can aim it right where you need it.

The hood has a brace on the front so you can add a diffusing material.

The bottom is setup to house 2 AAA batteries, the battery contacts and switch will need to be added a la DIY.

I'm definitely gonna test this model before making it available.

Coolness. This can also be used as a comm device.

Do your normal tools have to look so awesome as well!?

Let us know when the physical test results are out, cuz I'm really interested in a few space desk lamps for my space desk.

Also, you mentioned it uses 2x AAA batteries. I assume there's no need for resistors?

Lastly, I have the same issues with ole SW sometimes...My megamace had a problem while the megaflail did not, even though both have the same handles and the same joints. I didn't appreciate that they use the 'engineers said it can't be produced and there's no way to fix it' excuse and try to hide behind it everytime.
Got tiring after awhile.

In case you have anymore space instruments for my space desk I can't wait to see them!

The voltage on the batteries should work out, the LED is 3-3.2 volts, and the 2 AAA will be in the 3 volt ball park.

Will do!

Also it would seem the drama with the crusader isn't over yet! The old model had 2 small pins that shapeways kept rejecting over, to fix this, I DELETED the pins from the model. Yup, the newest version of the model on my shapeways site is pin-less. Yet I keep getting rejection notices from shapeways, they keep using an older version of the model with the damn pins! I've been yelling at them for about 2 days now to fix the issue. The phantom Pin issue is all on their end, they aren't using the updated model. If you had your order for the crusader rejected, email them, and yell at them forever!! To make things even more stupid, my crusader part A arrived today. So they used the right model, then went back to using the wrong model? I have no idea WTF is going on at Shapeways.

I'm not crazy about the print quality, and the fitting will need some work. But for the most part if works as planned. I'm using 18 gauge solid strand wire for the pins.

The interchangeable handles work great!

cool, hope they are printed well. I'm working on an assembly guide. You'll need a piece of 18 gauge solid strand wire for the axle pins.
