Challenge for you: create a new neck/abs piece for ROTF Leader Prime to convert him to DOTM Prime. Also, any chance you could do a second version of the forearms for those of us that are getting Fakebuskers hands? |

Hmm, that really would be a challenge as I don't have ROTFL Leader Prime. I think the base molds for the figures are the same, and just a few details like that are different. That may be possible. Let me noodle on that. Help me understand the forearm request. The one I've been working on has the knuckles, but if you're getting FB's knuckle hands my forearms don't really have a purpose? Yes, I'm waiting for the sample from Shapeways. I just got a tracking number so I'm hoping to get it by the end of this week, early next week. ![]() Current Project: Optimus PRID Tailer | Shapeways Shop: Lawson3D | My B/S/T Thread

With a chest/abs mod, Fakebusker's hands, and your forearms, that's a DOTM Leader Class Optimus Prime, for a fraction of the cost of importing Striker or Jetwing. Basically, giving customers the option of picking up the new forearms without the knuckle dusters.

What I've found with Shapeways' materials is none seem to be a good alternative to ABS plastic so anything we create has some caveats to it. Like the WSF is strong, and has flexibility so it won't just snap, but it's surface tends to wear down a bit because it still retains some of the powder nature. This makes moving parts problematic. The FUD holds incredible detail, but has zero flex and will snap like nothing. All that to say this is where metal pins come in, which is something I haven't found a solution for yet. I've had one successful test with making WSF pin but I don't know if that's a suitable replacement. I'll need to think on this some more. ![]() Current Project: Optimus PRID Tailer | Shapeways Shop: Lawson3D | My B/S/T Thread |

| Vehicon Join Date: Oct 2011 Posts: 542 | Just wanted to let you guys know that I just got the new sample back for OP's ax and it's even more epic-er than the original. I've posted pics in Radicons. Here's a link to the Shapeways page: Optimus Prime's Ax DOTM (FB version) v1.2 Thanks guys for nudging me to expand on what I had. I was content with where it was but the original sucks now. ![]() ![]() Current Project: Optimus PRID Tailer | Shapeways Shop: Lawson3D | My B/S/T Thread |

| Vehicon Join Date: Oct 2011 Posts: 542 | @ Josh - Thanks! I have a handle modeled to fit prime's regular hands, I just need to add it to the new ax head. I may need to dress the regular handle up a bit too, I remember it not being terribly detailed. In any case, there will be two separate models for the ax. @ InFluenc3 - Thank you, glad you like! ![]() Current Project: Optimus PRID Tailer | Shapeways Shop: Lawson3D | My B/S/T Thread |
