I think if you make the rods to the panel joints multi-sided instead of a pure cylinder, it will have a ratcheting effect which might help hold up the entire structure. And the joints nearer the base should be larger for additional stability. I'm just wondering if it's really going to be $200 in the end. That's quite some coin! I love the axe. Some sloping planes to give it a sharper edge will help enhance it's aggressive quality. |

I took a break from the trailer because I needed to pull back and re-work some details. Yeah, I think it will be pricey in the end. At $1.40/cm^3 for the WSF it adds up REAL quick. I wanted to have sharper edges on the ax but kept the edge at 1mm. Perhaps I could take it town a bit. |

| Vehicon Join Date: Oct 2011 Posts: 542 | Woot! Finally got my first samples of these OP mods from Shapeways. I need to add some mass to the swords. I mistakenly made the edge of the swords a sharp point which didn't work so well. It would probably be okay with the FUD, but not so much with WSF. I've already been modifying the model but the sample helps a lot. The new model has an edge of 1mm, which conforms to the minimum thickness spec. for the WSF material. Overall I think it's pretty decent, but I do need to thicken up the pieces overall. Utilizing the Mech Tech port worked well and I like my application better than what Takara Tomy just released. My updated design for the swords will have three hilt options. The smoke stacks are awesome. They're a little loose so I need to order another sample before I make them available for any that would be interested. |

| Vehicon Join Date: Oct 2011 Posts: 542 | After receiving my samples of the swords I revised them. What do you guys think? Two hilt options. One uses the Mech Tech ports on the Jetwing Prime's forearms. The other fits into fakebusker's hands. Should I make a hilt for the standard hands? If I do, I think I'd need to just create separate sets of swords to keep the price down. |

I scaled down the length of the handle and the handle end to get cost down, so this photo is a little longer than what's currently on my Shapeways page. Let me know what you think. |
