In other news, I received my first sample of OP's cannon based on DOTM and I'm pretty happy with it. I did a rough assembly and it's pretty sweet. So far everything seems to fit well which is nice. Means I'm getting better at this 3D printing stuff. I need to check a few more things and then I'll probably make it available.

I think I'm going to put a standard disclaimer on all my Shapeways products. The printing process is not 100% accurate. There is a bit of variation in each print, which means end users need to be ready to file/sand/mod something somewhere, just in case.

My computer took a dive this week so I'm not sure how soon I'll be able to work on more stuff. No idea what happened. I was working on it, shutdown, then plugged into a UPS battery backup and now it won't even power on. I think the motherboard somehow bit it, which is probably a blown capacitor. Not sure how exactly it happened but there it is.

Your assembly looks fantastic! Print quality looks good too, I can't wait to see this thing assembled.

Might be the power pack in it is dead. Best to talk to an IT shop and let them diagnose it.
How does the that gun compare to the Striker OP one? I wanna know which is beefier 8D

No I hadn't seen that. That's pretty slick! The plans for my Optimus involve redoing the torso and tanks altogether. I'm working steadily (busily actually) at the moment so I haven't had a lot of time to spend on my TF projects. I like what that guy has done though. I think it's much better than the officially released figure.

How's the rebuild going? Any word on when the gun and shield will be available for purchase? I've been holding off on these because I didn't have a DOTM Prime to work on, but I pre-ordered the Amazon Jetwing Prime last night, and I'm super-excited to combine your work with some other projects I'm working on.

Yes, I plan on ordering another gun this week after making it larger, and I need to order another shield since I've made slight revisions to that. It will probably be the weekend before I can get to it though. Ordering a 3D printer soon though, so stuff will happen at a faster pace once that gets in.
