I've actually planned out the unfolding process, so your drawings are not necessary. Thanks though.

have thought about making some forearms to ironhide voyager?
connecting to the balljoints of his hands, and then connect his existing hands at the end of the new forearms
there's enough space inside the vehicle to put the new arms, it would be a little tricky to transform but it could work
and would allow a more detailed , proportionated and articulated ironhide, and MechTech similar to their original arms
i will upload some photos to better show what I mean
oh and an interconnector to the chest part to add a better.....well, conection XD
That would be the forearms, elbows joints, because then it would have no articulation at the elbows and chest connector
    just 5 parts
and so we would have the best ironhide
    its just an idea
and sorry for requesting to much

Huh? He already has forearms. And as weirdly articulated as they are, they're pretty screen accurate.

@FB: You don't have to change it if you don't want to. The Optimus hands that you have there are already looking great. ;)

but they are not faithful to the design in a matter of proportion
and there's still some space inside the cab
so i came out with that idea
i know that it sounds ridiculous for some people, but i had to try
    and FB
you dont have to chage the knuckle spices, they look as accurated as they can be in that scale, and they look awesome
dont be so hard on yourself

Just out of pure curiosity, are the knuckle joints each articulated by the larger finger component of a joint having two toruses hanging off the end, and the smaller finger component having a kind of double-mushroom arrangement which clicks into the space between the rings?

I've been wondering how to go about making a non-pinned joint for a similar (much less detailed) project myself, but I wasn't sure at all about how likely such thin rings would be to break under normal use.

That's a very long description lol...but to put it simply, the fingers are all connected with a ball and socket system, reshaped in certain areas to look more finger-y. The double mushroom is not really a mushroom peg, if I read you right, but the ball of the joint sticking out of the flat surface of the side of the finger.

Well, from how I read your description you intend to change only the forearm pieces because they are not movie-accurate? I'm just trying to see what's the value derived by designing new forearms versus the time spent on it.

If mechtech is important for you on that figure why don't you try and see if you can use DOTM voyager Ironhide's forearms? Swap them out?

Let me get a sample in first to see the level of detail. If I don't feel 'itchy' about it (like I often do with a lot of my designs) I won't change it. Besides, looking at the screenshot you sent the mechanism is quite complex and extends all the way back into the forearm. To engineer something like that I will need a complete overhaul of the design and I don't want that. (or maybe I do...? Gasp!)
