Yeah I know what you mean. Actually the 'piledriver' mode was a happy consequence of the design I didn't intend for them to be mounted in that manner. That being said, it's fully possible for the barrels to be pushed down and the piledriver end extend, but we have to keep in mind they are so small...Also, the 2 guns are supposed to sit into each other in alt mode, so having them in single pieces is preferred.

I'm also worried about paint rub issues that arise with sliding parts.

I like your thinking though. When I receive the test prints I'll see exactly how small the guns are and maybe changes can be made?

Yeah I thought about that as I was typing that. Well Im still hoping you make them bigger down the road as for the rubbing isues. I know that the color of the plastic determins the strength of it but i would try a gray print of them. It would cut down on rubbing and give you less to paint
good luck with those test prints

    Update!

The preview of posable ROTF Starscream hands are up! Each pair of hands are designed with double jointed fingers and posable thumbs. Additionally, the centre portion of the hands can be interchanged giving the freedom of having weapon mount holes or not.

The alternative center piece (with the weapon hole) will be released alone as well so that you can choose to print it in metal to prevent paint rub.

The only issue with these hands is that you need to do some dremel work and epoxy sculpting to install them, so they are not for everyone.

Currently they are in testing phase, so they'll be released once I'm assured of quality. As usual.

Posable hands for deluxe Hot Rod! I'm still not sure how effective they will be at that scale in holding weapons and stuff. They can possibly be the smallest posable fists ever. The fingers are on pivot joints and the wrists are on ball joints.

Requires dremel work, strong glue to install.

    Waiting for test prints!

That render of ROTF Leader Starscream hands is kick-ass!  YOU are a genius!

Maybe you can do the same for the hands of ROTF Voyager Starscream. :inquisiti

I got some ideas that would best utilize your talents:

A redesigned cockpit for ROTF Voyagers Whirl and Grindor that resemble the cockpit of the Sikorsky CH-53E Super Stallion Heavy-Lift Cargo Helicopter (circled in red).

Redesigned propellers for 2007 Movie Voyager Incinerator that transform into working hands/fingers.

Oooh, those Starscream hands look great! Do you have an estimate on the price yet? If they're not too expensive I might have to snatch a pair up.

Thanks for your support, kai! I hope I get to see you used one of my SW stuff for your amazing projects! :)

    Thanks Omar!

These are some nice suggestions. I especially liked the Voyager Starscream hands suggestion, as that will really enhance what I thought was a weak figure. The finger/propeller idea for Incinerator is awesome too. I might just try my hand at these when I manage to get my hands on these figures...

I'm not so sure about the Super Stallion though. Not really familiar with helicopters and I'm not confident I can pull off that level of accuracy. That being said, why Super Stallion?

    Rhino3D :)

As a ballpark estimate I'll probably charge $15 a pair of hands. Is that alright a price for you? The metal centerpieces are about $6 a pair, but I might release them individually for $3.

I've just sent my order last night. They should take about 10 working days to arrive. Be patient!

    And thanks for the compliment!

I can do that, but I'll prefer cadding from scratch to ensure the joints don't go out of whack due to scale issues. The leader's hands make good reference though.

Thanks dude! You have inspired me much and I appreciate it!
I'm looking forward to them as well. I hate waiting for prints though...

Sounds like a very reasonable price, though I worry that shipping to the Netherlands will be a bitch, even for something so small. :(  But I'm definitely considering it. Don't really care for the centerpieces though, the holes don't bother me THAT much.

But first I'll have to get a Starscream, otherwise it's a bit pointless getting these. :lol

Good news dude, if you're ordering straight from Shapeways the delivery fee is already included in the price. Nothing else you have to pay.

Besides, Shapeways HQ is in the Netherlands (SURPRIZE LOL) :lol

But of course, those hands will be in the colour you chose for them. You need to do the painting yourself afterwards.
