Is it possible for the back panels to close around the blades? They would be perfect if they could do that.

Last I heard you wanted to possibly fix the boosters so they would sit lower on the Deluxe figure's back because the 5mm ports on the back wings are way up too high? Let me know, thanks!

ROTF Leader Optimus Prime hands 2.0 (movie accurate)​

Hi guys,

As promised, I am releasing a version of OP's hands without the knuckle mechanism. I know not everyone is a fan of those knuckles, so I'm giving an alternative.

This is also an update of sorts to the old OP hands I did a few months ago, after learning the lessons I did while working on those knuckle hands. The level of detail in these hands are much, much better than what we had before. Cheers to constant improvement!

Having done a whole bunch of hands, I feel pretty confident about this pair, so I'm releasing them now to you guys. I will get a sample for myself eventually.

I love the Optimus prime's brass knuckless 

 

I like the design, but I'll wait until you make a variant where the back of his hand closes completely after the blades come out.

 

What do you mean back of the hand closes?

 

Oh no...I won't be revisiting that design anymore, not for a foreseeable future anyway.

That's how my brain works: I'll be captured by an idea, and I'll work on it to it's fullest logical potential, then I'll release it and move onto something else. I know there are many questions about the unability to close the panels, and after working on those hands for months I can justifiably give many reasons why. The biggest reason is that the fist has to be about 2 - 3mm thicker for that construction to work. This is why I have to split the back panels into 4 pieces, 2 of which is 're-used' as fist spikes; this is all to save space as there is not much volume to go around.

Also, if we want to talk about true movie accuracy those knuckles did not come from his fists at all, but they slid out from his forearm shields much like his energon swords. If you observe the footage closely you can't see the back of his hands at all when the knuckles are out.

As I designed the knuckles to be a close approximation to the movie appearance, I think I can forgive myself for making those design decisions i.e. kibbley back panels.

Loooong story short, not I don't think I'll be updating those fists, unless it's a functionality issue. I make this reply because I don't want anyone to have the illusion there will be a 2.0 when there isn't. I hope you guys understand.

P.S. I know it's possible to make knuckle hands according to how you want it, and if anyone else wants to have a crack at it I'll salute them and say give it a try...

Do all of the Movie Optimus Prime hands still fit the DOTM Prime retooled forearms?

 

As long as it's the Leader version, which are what Battle Blades, Battle Hooks, Buster, JetWing, and Striker OPs are.

Well, there's never a lack of things to do...
I have commissions and requests from Lime, U-9, etc which I got to pump out soon...
I'll probably do some simply stuff as well like HA BB hands or weapons just to switch it up a bit.
