Btw: you're allowed to use any of my pics for your showcase here and on shapeways of course. I say this, cause on sw there's is no painted pic of the evil sentinel hands ATM

Damn it Fakebusker, just when i get my v7 molds out, you release this? Geez...let some of us amateurs get some of the spotlight once in a while... :lolol

He does look good so far. Seems to have a few too many ports, but i suppose that makes sense for the whole "weapons platform" concept.

You make at least some money on Shapeways, right? Then you are no amateur. You are a professional. No mercy for you.

I, on the other hand, have yet to make a single penny!

    :D

Or make it semitransformable between port mode and a flat area (or just some unobtrusive decoration). Buyers can then put it in whichever mode they prefer.

    Don't tempt me :)

Thanks for the feedback guys. In response to the comments, I decided on a subtle, 'V'-shaped detailing so common on other WFC Decepticons.

I was thinking of doing a removable socket like my leader Starscream hands, but I found it's too small a model to make it reliable unfortunately.

Be rest assured it will be fine. In cassette mode it's slightly thinner than the Thugger, so barring any accidents in design, it should fit in Soundwave pretty well.

Well...I'm not designing a Howlback, if that's what you're suggesting. It was a conscious decision to give him these chunky proportions, as a thin, sleek looking cat will not work at that scale and I'm matching the WFC aesthetic similar to how I did the Thugger. The feet are already 1mm thin I can't go much thinner than that.

I think your keyboard is malfunctioning, watch your caps. I don't dig breaches in online etiquette.

    Erm..starving?? Haha...
No I'm just trying this out full-time for a few months. How often do you get the chance to take a sabbatical out of the corporate world and do something you really want? I want to spend this time clearing up all my overdue commissions (the guys, I'm sorry! :( ) and finishing up some ideas on my own.

Of course, how long I can do this depends on how much support I get from you guys...If things are not promising I'll just look for a regular job again and do this in the evenings, just like how I've always been doing it.

Thanks for your offer! Yep I'll definitely use your picture. That's one impressive custom!

    Read this it helps!

Soon, guys...Because of the whole delivery fee issue, I want to consolidate a whole bunch of test models into 1 order. Hopefully I can send this one out end next week...

    Thanks MBT!

Apple-bottomed jeans, boots with the fur!

    Maybe? Don't tempt me :)

Oh, and guys, now I'm on FACEBOOK!
I think it should be the fastest means for me to put up my updates, so check back often!
Of course, I'll be updating this thread frequently as well, but I'm thinking of posting just the major announcements, cuz the thread length is really growing too long!

Awesome Purrdator, Ariel. You've almost got me wanting to redesign my ravage again.

As promised, here are pictures of the awesome knuckle hands for leader Optimus Prime!

Not only do these hands possess the posability of all the other hand designs, their back panels unfold to reveal their deadly secret: vicious fist spikes that flip out for Prime to lay the smack down on the enemies of justice and freedom!

They fit in perfectly in alt mode as well.

Okay, so now you guys are saying,"Ariel, aren't you going to release this already?". I'll reply nope! The sample Shapeways sent me was extremely loose, and I can't be sure if that's just a fluke or a problem with the CAD. I've been using the same technique and tolerances on all my other hands so it beats me why it failed now. To circumvent this, I've been working the past 2 days tightening joints and reinforcing the structure. It will be made public when it's ready.

Additionally, for those who simply want hands with no brass knuckle, I'll be updating the normal OP hands with levels of detail similar to the knuckle version as well. Available in a few days.

    Meanwhile, enjoy the pictures!

Those look really nice. It does look like Shapeways dropped the ball on the printing this time, however.

And you make us all look like novices yet again. You should work for Hasbro, Ariel. Seriously. :)

I'm not exactly sure if i like the new hands, but i do have to ask: How much face-ripping goodness is included with each set?
