I'd think Ariel would make money if she Remolded Faceoff into Rung...
Because that is teh closest thing to a Rung we have ever seen...

No, it is just very similar, proof in the arms. Granted not much could be changed without making it a whole knew character.

Good. I didn't expect it to be a stolen design and I'm glad to have been correct.

    Hi all,

Firstly, I want to thank all my friends, especially Daimchoc, who brought this to my attention minutes after it went live.
It’s amazing how fast a news-churner the Internet is.

I just want to say that this teaser for ‘Tyrantron XLR’, I had nothing to do with it and I was as surprised as anyone of us.
However, I would like to personally dispel any comments that somehow designs were ‘stolen’. No, thankfully, no designs
were stolen. Faceoff and ‘Tyrantron’ are based off a common inspiration and I guess it’s a testament to our work ethic
that we made them look so close to the source material that people had problems telling them apart.

MMC’s designers are da bomb, yo.

As it has been speculated already, I suspect the ‘April Fool’s joke’ part was that ‘Tyrantron’ was shown, but the original intent
was to create a ‘not-Vos’. I confess I’m a tad sad that I wasn’t quick enough to get Faceoff (or a derivative design of him)
into production before anyone did. However, looking on the bright side, if ‘not-Vos’ does get into production,
fans who want a sniper-bot will not have to rely on Shapeways and their own painting skills anymore.
To look on an even brighter side, if this means the entire not-DJD team gets into production, count me in.

(Personally being the selfish bum I am, I still prefer my Faceoff figure. So there!) ;D

"Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get.
But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen." - Conan O'Brien

I'm still tempted to get yours Fakebusker. Of the two base designs I prefer yours. Also it is likely more than a year until MMCs is released since their Arcee who was traded last April 1 still isn't out. But the prepainted aspect is tempting.

Hi fakebusker - quick question: do you think the HFTD Whirl claws could be modified to fit FOC Whirl and give him some claws?

I suspect MMC's rifle will be much bigger than Faceoff, after looking at the size of the handles on that one. So it's meant for different size class of figures at least...

The HFTD claws will be too small for voyager Whirl. It's possible to create larger claws that peg onto his forearms similar to his hand cannon though.

Sorry - I meant the Fall of Cybertron Wreckers Deluxe Whirl - the repaint of FOC Vortex. His glaring lack of empurata (and blue) is holding him back from being amazing.

Oh, in that case, I think the current claws will work for the deluxe, since they use 5mm pegs to attach.

As promised. Though, it has to be plugged in upside down due to the hand guards..

Thanks daimchoc! Very much appreciated! I love how they can plug into the alt mode like scorpion claws.

Do you think they would fit over the fists if one of the guard sides was clipped off?

I just got in my Shapeways order today which included Fakebuster83's Generations Doubledealer upgrade kit. I had it made in polished alumide material which has a nice sparkly grey color, not an exact match to the grey of the figure but close enough for me to where I'm not going to bother painting or sanding it. I think it's a must have kit, really makes him look alot more G1!

    It's looking pretty coooool....!
The polished Alumide looks really good here. Hows the fit? Are the handles loose or tight?

It's a great kit Fakebuster! The handle for the gun is a bit loose, but I know that happens with polished Shapeway materials - what I usually do is just add a drop of superglue around the peg to thicken it. The notch you designed into the gun to accommodate the tab in his forearm was very clever!

The rocket holder plugs into his shoulder very well. Putting the huge rocket together overall was fun and snaps together tight for the most part, just the warhead itself fits loose - I might glue that into place.

How do I use those two bits you included to fix the shoulder issues of this figure? It's probably something really simple and I'm just not firing on all cylinders today :)  Using polished alumide worked great for everything else but made those two parts a bit fragile.

Thank you so much for making this kit for us fans!

Those two pieces peg into the cavity on the inside of his shoulder blade. The little 'tab' should face front. They fit inside via friction but you might find your pieces loose. Thicken them with glue or you can permanently glue them in. I think the Alumide colour shouldn't look out of place with the Doubledealer grey.

I just tried it and it works great! Holds together very tight in robot mode. Appreciate the pictures you posted, I couldn't figure it out before - should have thought to ask you earlier :)  Because the color matches very well I think I will in fact glue those bits in, it's such an elegant and unobtrusive solution to the shoulder issue problem and I don't want them falling out during transformation.

    Again, thanks so much Fakebuster!
