I had an idea, could you do a pirate sword for thundertron? and maybe a pair of flintlock style cannons?

maybe a star seeker flag (compatible with minicon ports for mounting on tidal wave) too?

    just wondered.

also of interest would be some form of replacement foot for energon megatron's molds, (leader and voyager) so it could have an ankle tilt.

Would the Cybersonic Scimitar do? (http://www.shapeways.com/model/747795/)

As for the flintlock pistols, they sound interesting. Let me think about it.

I don't have Energon Megatron, unfortunately, so I don't think I can help you with that.

By flag do you literally mean a cloth flag on a pole with a 5mm peg on the bottom?

not cloth, I was thinking of it being more technological, like a hologram emitted from a pole (or similar) with a minicon port on the bottom.

and, the scimitar would do well if you could make a part to plug into his hip pieces and hold it.

For the flag I think it will have to be done as a commission, since it's not a common request. Feel free to pm me to proceed with it.

I don't have Thundertron so I can't confirm, but are those 5mm ports on his hips?

yep, 5mm ports, just need a sheathe for a sword really and, I wasn't after a holo-flag that seriously, just thought I'd offer the idea.

Ariel... I've just come to the realization that you, nor anyone I can find on Shapeways, has not made a classics Matrix that can be used by 5mm hands...

This situation should be rectified and I think you're the person to do it. You would design something with folding handles so it looks perfect or something.

The problem with the matrix design is that it's torn between wanting to fit in a Prime chest and wanting to be held by 5mm hands. There's no nice way to reconcile those two intentions.

Yea, folding handles might work (those cylinders can swing backwards to hide behind the sphere) but it takes some doing. And with this concept I guess it is never meant to fit into anyone's chest...

We also have the other issue of deciding if it should be a closed loop handle (accurate) or open ended handle (for easy holding) since not every hand is an open one.

Or open-ended handles with a lower section to the handle which swings or rotates into place under the bottom of the fist.

Or two-part handles which look closed and can retract most of the way into the inner sphere in order to fit into Prime chests, but which can pull out again to make the Matrix casing look larger, and because each handle pulls out in two pieces, the top part can pull out, be fitted into a 5mm fist, and then the lower part can pull out and cover the underside of the fist (or, if the underside of the fist does not have a hole, the lower part of the handle can extend as far as practical, allow it to at least look like it's fitting the figure more than a static open handle).

Heck, you could have the lower section of handle (just a straight piece of plastic) rotate to sit on the back of the Matrix in compact mode, and the upper section of handle (including the grip) fold up to resemble a much smaller Matrix-case handle - good for displaying in Prime chests.

(Or vice versa, with the top section folding away to the back of the center sphere and the lower section folding upwards to resemble a tiny Matrix handle itself. Good way to hide the functional-yet-bulky grips and let the relatively decorative-only lower handle section cover the looking-like-a-mini-handle duties.)

I don't even have any Optimus's or Rodimi that can have a matrix in their chest. I just want an awesome G1 matrix that my figures can hold and have faith you would be clever enough to figure out how to do it. I know it's a task made even more difficult by Classics Rodimus only having, what 4mm hands?

    YAY! HE'S DONE.

I've been working on this guy for a couple of months, and I promised myself to finish this before the year is up. This project has gone on long enough. For most of it he was just a bunch of chicken scratch sketches on my notebook as I deliberate on the best way to engineer him out.

Once I managed to nail down his transformation scheme I got down to 3D work. As it were, it took shorter than I expected (one half weeks) but I was working on him in intensive spurts over the festive season.

He is to date the most complex project I've attempted. If I counted correctly he has nearly 40 individual parts and he has ball joints and pins all over. The testing phase is going to be interesting indeed.

For all his complexity, he's a (tall) legends scaled figure, 5mm peg compatible hands and he meant to play ball with modern deluxe figures.

I'm glad to finally show you guys for the first time ever the completed version of Faceoff. Hope you like him!

Hmm...no time for sandwiches. This time I want to share an ongoing experiment. "Articulated" hands for Generations Trailcutter! Let see if it's gonna work...

Surprisingly, he's not as pricey as I suspected...as he's a similar scale to Trivia, he costs *just* a few dollars more...

Thanks sir! More to come soon!

such cool stuff you produce here!

i'd love to see the evil Sentinel hands on Leader Starscream, how hard do you think it'd be to alter them to fit?
