not change the forearms, use the actual forearms as arms, that would make them more articulated and not so "cramped (01)" inside the body
(01 - i dont know if its the correct term)
and then attach a new forearm to the hand's balljoint, obviusly with enough articulation, and the removed hands to the new forearms
bulkier forearms with similar mechtech ports as the original
    why?
that should make ironhide bulkier, more articulated in the arms and well, better looking
the new forearms may be the exact size to actually fit inside the cab, but its possible
there's enough space to make them
but i wont press you, it your decision

    something like this
actually i only repositioned the arm
no digital mockup of what i "want"
why i ask about new voyager ironhide forearms?
because many people i know think the arms doesnt look good
    XD
and because i want bigger arms
    hahahahahaa
the arms look better in person
and sorry for the awful photos
    but i hope this helps

    Ah... I see

There's a mod for that... I'll have to check where it is.

For some reason, I was thinking about Leader Ironhide.

Well, I don't like to judge people for their typing language, since maybe english is not your native tongue, but I'm having a hard time understanding you.

So what I garner from your description is this, correct me if I'm wrong:

    1. Position the existing arms in such a way that the original forearms become the new upper arms.

    2. Remove the original hands, put the new Shapeways forearms where the original wrist joint connects.

    3. Connect the original hands to the wrist joint of the Shapeways forearms.

I understand that there are many who think voyager IH has skinny arms, but I don't think this idea would be popular though, since #1 it's a partsforming solution for a tiny aesthetic fix, and #2 it sounds pretty awkward a solution to me. What is more, you are partsforming a piece twice. (the hands)

I think you will get more value by kitbashing the forearms yourself, dude. I can do this on Shapeways, but I'm not convinced enough to do it.

    Yeah...

actually no partsforming, since there's space in the cab, once "moded" its just matter of fitting the arms in the vehicle, without removing anything, may be a little difficult, but possible
yeah, english is not my native language
and writing at 4 am can destroy any coherence left
    XD
¬¬ yeah i know i suck in english

It could be done by just adding a clip-on part for the forearms if you want to have a beefier look to it. But, just like FB mentioned, it might not have a whole lot of buyers for it.

Just want to give you guys a heads up.

Shapeways will be implementing a new set of prices from Oct 1st onwards. Overall, material costs will be cheaper, but now delivery and handling fees are included. There is no more $25 limit.

How this will affect my prices and how I'll set up my designs, I don't know. From what I understand, bulk, large volume orders will be cheaper in the end, while small individual pieces will take a hit.

My intention is to deliver my designs in the lowest prices possible, even after this pricing change. Just be prepared for a period of messy pricing until I get everything sorted out.

    its not the arms themselves
its that he has almost NO shoulder articulation
making him so difficult to pose
my idea was making him more articulated and proportionated
    while still able to transform

    fakebuster
a new idea if you are going to make the dotm voyager ironhide arms, there's a way to make them bulkier
but it would require that one arm folds inside the vehicle while the other hangs underneath it, like movie one ironhide
    its just an idea
    if not, just say it
i will be ok with that

Yup, I got your point when you posted the pictures. There's shoulder joint mod that will fix that. You need to pull the pin out from the shoulder, and then turn the shoulder joint around before re-attaching it. I was pointing at how to bulk up the arm. If FB decides to make one, it can just be a clip-on thingy for the arm. :thumbs2:

but reversing the shoulder joints wont "fix" it, because the wheels are still in the way
and it still his upper arms look too skinny
thats why i wanted new forearms
because of his transformation, replacing the upper arms would "ruin" the transformation
while making his actuall forearms the new upper arms
and having new forearms would fix that
    i explained it before
"since there's space in the cab, once "moded" its just matter of fitting the arms in the vehicle, without removing anything, may be a little difficult, but possible"
what i want its a mix between proportion, FULL articulation, and accuracy

    Fakebuster
what about some blades for the jetwing/ striker optimus prime movie
    more accurated
    detailed
why? because from what i can see, its the most accurated optimus to date
but doesnt have the swords, just the guns
just a pair of swords that fits in his hands(both originals and your's)
    that would be awesom
and a mouthplate, for the buster/battle hooks prime
¬¬ if you dont like my ideas just tell me, because im starting to feel unconfortable because i am bothering you with them

FB, are you thinking of making hands for MP-10? I saw several reviews and the hands don't have a lot of articulation in them.

    Hey guys,

Presently I'm going to take a breather from Shapeways stuff abit, cuz I want to devote more time to finishing a non-shapeways job. Once I'm done with that I will be again free to make more stuff for Shapeways! An MP-10 set of hands could be possible. I just need to get a reference sample first.

    No problem!

Unfortunately not yet, cuz I want to get my sample first and confirm everything works. I'll try to get it done asap and release it! Due to the recent changes for Shapeways delivery fees I want to combine as many samples as I can to save cash too :(
