No sir! I was surprised as well... No alterations required. Just pop off the original and then pop this in. Remember that other project that I was working on? Yeah, these hands were too big for it. It needed 12mm hands. Maybe you can make some sort of interchangeable/clip on back of the hand guards, then we can have more choices. I'll take a pic of Soundwave with the new hands and post it here. Might show some "how-to" as well. ;)  Tagged it on facebook too. ;)

As promised.... Note that they don't fit when going to alt mode. FB, maybe you can make a different attachment point and possibly trim some of the sides of the hands. I believe the wrist itself can be replace and make this 14mm hands work in alt mode.

Sorry in advance... Lots of pictures to show you folks.

    Original hand.

Here's without the original hand and with FB's version

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Here's the wrist, which I mentioned above, as either replaced with a better connection point, or it could be dremel'd to get the fist in for alt mode.

    Here's the wrist...

Side view showing why it won't fit when going to alt mode.

    And from the top

If modded, either a bigger hole would need to be made, or at least shorten the wrist peg.

This picture shows the issue clearest, methinks. You are right, the wrist connector has to be much shorter than it presently is for the hand to fit in alt mode. I'd prefer not to have to mod the figure itself to fit the hands, so let's see if I can shrink or adapt the hand into that cavity. Your photos seem to prove it can be done.

Thanks for sharing! This is very valuable help!

FB, there are two ways to fix it... One is to redesign the wrist peg on the hand to be shorter; the second would be to design a connector that would replace the current wrist on the figure - that gray piece shown below

Dude, if giving the new Dreadwing hands articulated fingers is too difficult for you, just revise them as closed/clenched fists (like the ones on Classics Voyager Jetfire for example) that can hold the cannon! :inquisiti

@FB: Upon further inspection, I don't think the second option that I suggested would work. That's because there's not much space between the wrist on the figure and the joint/connection point on the forearm as shown below.

So, I think it would be good to just shorten the peg on the hands that you designed. Also, once you shorten that peg, you can probably make a locking mechanism so that the ball on the hand doesn't slide out...

Or... make use of a flat connector and put the ball on the palm of the hand. Much like how you had done your Leader Optimus hands.

Your design looks cool Ariel but I guess I'm the only one who is completely satisfied with his sword already.

It's supposed to be bigger than the current sword that FOC Grimlock has. ;)

I'm fine with it. But I wouldn't mind a slightly bigger one. Now a [much] bigger shield would be awesome IMO

It too late to also ask for final battle duel shields for Megs and Optimus? Since the existing 3Party shield can't mount on Megatron's arm

also if ya decide to scrap the Dread/Skyquake hands, would ya be willing to give me the test prints? :drunk

I'm still hoping for some solution to the hollowness, or may e even a tail add on. It's not a bad figure, but it's a letdown in its lightness, head sculpt
