Definitely. I think the mouth would look better if it were more narrow. And you might possibly be mistaking his original expression, which at least to me looks a lot more like a smirk than a sneer.

Well, it wasn't exactly a ball to start with, but that was the main idea! Just...hush up about it, kk? We don't wanna give away too many secrets! :lol  I'm just kidding bro. It's good to see that it's improving.

Don't think i was going for a sneer at first, but if it came across that way...uh oh. Still, i guess a smirk fits BB, as long as i don't make it too malicious. Perhaps more of a friendly smile with just a slight hint of 'Con-bloodlust (or technically energon-lust)?

What about this? It's thinner, it's a smirk, and it's...well, it's not too evil.

Right now, about $70-75 AUD, which is about $69-73 USD. But that's a tentative price range, what with exchange rates and all that. :)

so im looking to be in about 70-77 dollars i think its worth it, it would be nice though to have the black panel the head sits on to cover the gap in between the head and the chest

The mouth is getting better, but it's still a bit too wide. It reminds me of the perspective independent mouths of shoujo heroes.

Wide? Yes, i completely agree. However, i will not be making it any thinner, because i want this design to be able to be printed in WSF. In my experience, any thinner and the mouth might not show up in the print. For safety's sake, i'll keep it at this size. :)

@Jetcracker: I know what you mean. Covering the gap in the chest would have been nice. I did actually manage to cover it in an earlier version of Bumblebee (which wasn't shown publicly), but that left Bumblebee's head trailing along the ground behind the train. Aside from the obvious problem of his head scraping along the ground, he also ended up with his nose next to his...uh, rear end. Not pleasant. Hence, this version. I know it leaves a slight gap, but i've covered it as much as i can while allowing the transformation to work. :)

    ---------------------------------------------------

Anyways, here's what i've been working on for the last few days.

    Cartridge Robot Ravager

It's been a while since i made Ejector and Rewinder, and it just didn't seem right for the humanoid minions to be designed and then not make Soundwave's favorite stealth cat.

For Ravager, i wanted to actually make a cat. By which i mean, it was important to get the proportions i wanted. Sort of bulky, since Ravage needs to be strong, but still relatively believable as a jaguar. Key word being relatively.

When it came to detailing, i had a choice. I could either go with the angular stylings that FR and Ejector/Rewinder use, or i could use the style Bumblebee used. In the end, i chose the more angular style, as it seemed more fitting for the idea of a powerful hunter, and it would fit in better as a set with FR and Ejector/Rewinder. However, i did use some of the things i learnt from Bumblebee on Ravager's torso. It just seemed to fit. :)

In terms of weapons, i never really got what Ravage's G1 weapons were (rockets? Glit managed to make them medical tools...?), so for Ravager i improvised a bit. They're now made into powerful rockets, on account of the fact this cat doesn't look too stealthy any more. Not that he needs stealth at the speed those rockets can propel him. You shouldn't even notice he's there, until it's too late. ;)

I do hope you guys like him. I'd ramble on for longer but it's past 1am here, so i'll shut up now. *yawns*

I wish I could see these pictures at work, but my job hates Photobucket.

We're getting our dimensions crossed here. I think everyone's saying the mouth should be more narrow side to side, not top to bottom. If the mouth were brought in on the sides, I think they'd look better and still show up great after printing.

Oh, woops. You know when people say your mouth's "wide open", it's about how far up and down your lips are? That's what i thought you guys meant. Left to right can be shortened, no problem. In fact, here it is. I don't dare go any shorter than this, though.

Just so you know, my order for Squak/Beak/Saw v7 in WSF has been rejected due to insufficient wall thickness. Might want to hold off on buying that design until it can be revised.

Yeah, I got the email from Shapeways about it. Don't worry, it's actually not the design.

If you'll look in Creative General Discussion, you'll see TheDreaded1 has started a thread detailing this very problem. Shapeways has been having it a lot lately, even with models that have already been printed. Apparently they are having printer issues according to Maartje of Shapeways. She said that's why one of my orders has been delayed, and I'm betting that's why the random error messages have been arriving to everyone recently.

Bottom line: wait a short while, and hopefully Shapeways will have their printer fixed. :)

In the meantime, I should have RWX-09a Kickback arriving shortly! Also coming with it is RWX-09c Shrapnel.

Good to hear, but you did read the description, right? I got the email from Shapeways, and it says Index was ordered. No sign of Pt2. It's not necessary, but some people require it (I've asked Shapeways, they have no idea why, but I made the second part for safety's sake). Apparently a something about flipped parts or something. I hope it doesn't happen to you, as i've fixed Pt1, but just a heads up.

I hope to get BB off the ground very soon, probably right after Kickback and Shrapnel.

As always, thanks for your support bro. :)

    TFP Starscream Missiles

So i recently picked up my first TFP figure, Staarscream. I really like the mold, and agree with the whole "it's ingenious" sentiment, but one thing that really bugged me was that the missiles came in soft plastic. I hated that. So i set about making a version that was printable on Shapeways.

So, what's so special about this version? Well, i went for toy accuracy instead of show accuracy (primarily because on holiday, i don't have access to the TFP Cartoon). I tried to replicate the missile from the toy as closely as i could, down to the detailing on the side and the fins on the back.

I guess the whole point off designing this was simply to remedy the problem of my TFP Starscream coming with bent missiles. If your's did too, then here's the solution!

Normally i like to test models first, but since it's just a pair of missiles, i think it's pretty safe to release them.

Normally I don't like to bump threads for nothing, but...

...I finished HOS Bee's first draft and uploaded it here on the 31st of December, to mark the end of the year. Well, to continue the trend, I just ordered HOS Bee! And it's the last day of the lunar year!

Seems Bee always marks an important event! Happy Chinese New Year! :)

    TFP Arcee Blasters

Ever since i saw TF: Prime, i knew i wanted an Arcee figure. She's just so cool, except for one slight problem...she has no flip out blasters. That's kinda annoying. They didn't even have to flip. Just slot over her hands. But apparently that was too much to ask. Well, i finally got my hands on a TFP Arcee figure in Hong Kong, and i set about correcting that problem.

For these blasters, i used these as reference pics: Link1 Link2

My main concern was obviously having the blasters slot over the forearms. Originally like everyone else, i tried to take advantage of the 5m peg on the back of her arm, but the end results were sub-par. To get around that, i used the peg on the side of her arm that locks her arms in place in bike mode. Since everyone seems to think that's unusable due to the length needed for the peg blocking her hand from sliding in (and they're right), i had to find a different method. Thankfully hasbro built one in for me. Having a wrist swivel meant that her hands could be slotted in first, and then the peg pushed in afterwards.

The rest was all just detailing and making out the details as best i could form dodgy pictures (since i left my TFP episodes back home). Oh, and there's a 5mm hole drilled into the bottom of her blasters, so they will be able to store on the sides of her bike mode using the 5mm pegs of her existing blades. They still point forwards and to the side as well, so she can blast and ride at the same time! :)

Shapeways Page for TFP Arcee Blasters here

Sadly, i'm no magician. I encountered the same problems everyone else did how to get blasters on her without being too bulky. It's just that i managed to make them work. :D  Within FD and FUD, anyway. So, um, yeah, order in FD, it's cheaper. :)  I will be ordering two copies for myself, FD and WSF. I'm 99.99999999% confident in FD working, but WSF i cannot be too sure. If it does work, i'll release it in WSF as well. :)
