Alright, i tried everything i could with the legs. Seriously, i give up, i'm not wasting any more time on that. The geometry is really screwed up (Sketchup seems to have pushed almost every line off axis, making it that much harder), and even when i extended everything to add a joint, the panel folded back didn't change the silhouette. The legs still looked just as wide, however the knee articulation was sacrificed. Therefore, i'm not going to bother on the legs, they will stay as they are. Personally, i quite like them like that, as Shrapnel's legs should be wider to emulate the G1 figure's. Kickback had thinner legs because he was a grasshopper, and so this set of figures i designed stays true to that. :)

However, i did manage to make the hip ball joints appear bigger. The original post has been updated with the new robot mode pics. The hips changes will not be carried over to Kickback, though, as his i would prefer to keep a thinner, perhaps leaner look for Kickback. Don't know why, but i always envisioned Kickback as being sleeker than the other two. :)

Anyways, here's the group shot, pre-scaling:

They look nice. I'm not sure I'll buy the entire Insecticar, at least not all at once. Will you accept regular monthly payments of $5.99 until the debt is paid?

    :lolol

Seeing Shrapnel and Kickback together, they do look more different than I originally thought. I could see you doing something to make the upper arms look a little different, that may differentiate them more, but I don't think it's necessary.

    Thanks Yuyuyami. :)

The upper arms I decided to keep the same, because frankly these guys are costing a lot anyways and I wanted to maximise the amount of material I could hollow out. I have made the decision that unless tomorrow I get some really bad news when uploading Bombshell and Shrapnel, this will be the scale they will be produced at. Mainly because any smaller, and the hands would have to be shrunk, meaning good bye 5mm compatibility, and that's a no-go. ;)

From head to toe, Kickback stands 114.3mm, Bombshell stands 121.2mm and Shrapnel stands 116.6mm tall.

    16.74 cm * 1 inch / 2.54 cm = 6.59 inches.

    Nice, that's deluxe size.

But if you measured from the head I'm guessing Kickback's closer to 3.4 inches.

To be fair, probably more a large scout, i mean don't forget the 167.4mm is to the top of Kickback's wings, and slightly above Bombshell's horns. Probably somewhere between Scout and Deluxe, now that i think about it. I just hope it won't cost too much. I'm looking around $75 for each piece (ouch, i know). But who cares, if i had to choose one, i know who i'd choose...Kickback! :lol

Still, i intended to net all three. I want that Insecticar! :D

EDIT: The measurements for the three are given below the picture, no need for guessing. ;)

D'oh. I just looked at the picture.

Once you get the Insecticar, you'll have to send it my way so I can review it and POSSIBLY send it back to you.

Much as I'd love a review for the three (preferably not too negative :lol ), I'm not sure I'd risk sending those three. I mean, I would like to get them back, and...well, I trust you and all, but still...

    :lol

I don't think you'd get much from having the printed samples in hand. So, you could make a few KO's in China, but that's about it. It won't help you to design, and it won't make you much money, plus, this community would still know me as the designer. :)

Also, i started work on a Tracks design. Wish me luck!*

    *Preferably good luck. ;)

I wasn't talking about taking your design from you, just making a joke about our profitable hobby and keeping the Insecticar toy for myself.

I look forward to seeing Tracks.

I wonder if there's any way for us to submit designs to Hasbro? :lolol

I suppose you could interview and go the route of Alex Kubalsky with Takara.

Another Aussie Transformers designer. He made classics Mirage, Animated Prowl, Universe 2.0 Hound, etc.

    I always like his designs.

Wow, that's quite a list! All figures that I love. Hopefully one day I'll e as good as he is.

Oh, and i forgot to say, it's not normal Tracks. It's Animated Tracks. ;)

Well, Tracks has taken a bit longer than i'd hoped he would. Normally i can show off a design every about 2 days if i'm on a roll (and have 2 whole days free), 3 days if i'm not. Well, Tracks isn't the smoothest build i've have. In fact, it's been challenge after challenge. Still, i thought the progress i'd made was good enough to show. :)

Yeah, one image teasers do suck, i know. ;)  I hope to have him finished tomorrow, maybe Sunday seeing as tomorrow is a very busy day for me. Oh, and reference art is here: Tracks (Animated) - Transformers Wiki. I'd say i stuck close to the reference art for the most part, but the art does cheat a bit (where'd the wings go?) so i had to change a few things, namely the spoiler. :lol

Oh, and yes, the rear end of the car is a bit skeletal, in the sense the blue doesn't continue all the way back. That was intentional, it's my way of showing that Tracks is more than just a speedway-bound racer. A bit of rough road ain't too bad! ;)

Edit: just uploaded Bombshell and Shrapnel, and the prices for Bombshell is ridiculous. $150? I don't think so. I'll have to check the hollowing tomorrow, as he should only be ~$95 maximum by my budgeting. If the hollowing checks out then all three will have to be scaled down a bit, probably to 90% or maybe 85% of their current size. If the size does change, I'll repost a pic of the scaled trio. :)

Looks nice. Perhaps a little too hollow to the sides of the vehicle compared to the lineart, but nice.

    No rawboot mode?
