You might want to show some mockup on SS.

The Fusion Boosters are basically goin to replace the two missiles shown in this photo.

The rear wings are rotated forward, so they can be used as attachment points for the fusion boosters.

The second last picture of the Fusion Boosters shows the orientation they would be in, then they replace the missiles shown above. Basically, the cannons turn into a set of thrusters for Starscream's jet mode.

Of course, you can still have them mounted under the wing, as boosters or as cannons, again replacing the missiles in the photo below.

If you put fins on those they would be perfect.

What sort of fins? I was wondering whether or not to add more plane-esque parts to their design, but i originally opted not to on account of them being more cannon-like this way.

Of course, i'm open to changes.

In order to fly properly he still needs elevators. Just replicate the elevators that are used to mount the cannons.

Heh, Cybertronian physics allows all vehicles to fly! (see: Transformers Energon) :lolol

Seriously, I will consider adding more fins. My only regret is that I already put in the order for my copy! :(  :lol

I just have to work out a way to add fins, so that they'll look right as boosters, but also look realistic when mounted under the wings. :)

I think the Gundam addon kits you've been doing are right up your alley. You should do a full fledged "Gundam" model kit. I think you could make something really cool and fun to put together.

By the way, a couple days ago I started work on a new figure. I'm pretty far along, but I would appreciate any feedback you could give me. Would you mind taking a look? You can see it on the first page and post of my thread:

    http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-fan-art/481532-misterfanwanks-shapeways-thread.html

I'm aware the level of detail is low right now, although I don't know how much detail I can include and still maintain the tuxedo motif. I'm also still messing with the shaping of the parts because I would like the torso to be more rounded for vehicle mode.

Thanks, I'm glad the addon kits have been well received. I will probably skip building a full robot kit, though, as frankly after Triple Ruler's....ah....success... I've been more focused on accessories. One of these days I'll get back to full on robots. I have Cartridge Robot Beast on the way, for instance. I just haven't yet had inspiration strike for one.

As for your thread, I saw it. It still looks a lot like rounded blocks to me. I'll have to see a bit more before I can really say anything constructive. Still, good luck. :)

    VAR-003 Shard

"The 'Cons could never really get enough drones. The Vehicons; drills, cars and jets; just a front for their drone army. Behind the scenes, swarms of deadly micro-robots plot against the remaining 'Bots. Underground, in the walls, right behind you; a Shard listens.

VAR-003 Shard had only one requirement; direct orders from Megatron for the cheapest unit possible. Swarms were created of these tiny recording devices, each armoured with a shell to bypass security and avoid detection. Each one armed with twin thermally-conductive horns, leaving no heat signature. And most importantly, each one equipped with the latest in audiovisual recording technology.

While the Shard is armed in robot mode, it is in Beetle mode where its weapons are deployed most. Twin Heat-Pulse Blasters do miniscule physical damage, but are capable of shattering teams of robots. Targets realise they're being spied upon, activating their thermal cameras; Heat-Pulse Blasters increase the heat signature of their victims significantly. Watch as teams believe their own member to be a traitor. Watch the teamwork decompose, watch the bonds break."

    Spallow Blade

Don't really know why this hasn't shown up in this thread yet. I thought for sure someone would beat me to it. At any rate, it's about time my Spallow got rid of his damned white decal'd knife and got a translucent blade. Why translucent? Just because I can. :)

This is a replacement blade piece for High Grade 1/144 Gundam AGE-1 Spallow. Given the decal on the original is prone to peeling and Bandai decided to cast it in white of all colours, I'm going to allow this to be printed in Frosted Detail and Frosted Ultra Detail for their clear properties, as well as the Strong and Flexible materials for those who want their blade dyed.

    TFP Starscream Fusion Boosters

What if Starscream actually led the 'Cons? He'd have twin Fusion Boosters, that's what. And they'd attach in Jet mode to make him fly even faster!

When you let Starscream finally have the power he desires, what could be better than rubbing it in his former master's face by giving him twin Fusion Cannons? Three missiles either side was never enough to really obliterate the remaining 'Bots. A fusion cannon on each arm...that's twice the firepower that Megatron had!

    Shapeways Fusion Boosters page

To add insult to injury, these Fusion Cannons aren't spiked just to look cool. They aren't sloped and sheared just for looks either. They're made to pierce the air, and when they're attached to the side of Starscream's Jet mode, entering orbit is a very real possibility. Powered by Dark Energon, even Starscream struggles to control his flight. He'd never admit that, of course.

    TFP Cliffjumper Evala Weapon Kit

"The Evala does one thing and it does one thing well. It blows stuff up. The Evala weapon kit focuses on long range combat, engaging 'Cons before they even know you're in range. The Evala Cannon wipes out enemy units before you step into sensor range, and survivors meet a nasty fate when the Evala Impaler slices right through their spark chamber.

    GMB-400 Quakeburst Exceed

"Space fights were the home of the Exceeds, ever since the debut of the Sabretooth, but ground warfare was a different story. Flying within the atmosphere, the forward facing guns couldn't provide the cover fire the EFF needed. What was needed was a ground support unit, what they got from Madorna Workshop was the GMB-400 Quakeburst Exceed.

A heavy artillery support unit, Quakeburst had the sole purpose of blasting holes in enemy forces. Often fighting behind the mobile suit infested front lines, the Quakeburst's onboard sensor array allowed it to fire between formations, and height-adjustable cannons let the sky rain cannon fire. Twin forward-facing blasters made sure the Quakeburst was never caught off-guard, rapid fire being their main use.

As with all the Exceeds, Quakeburst was capable of transforming into extra weaponry for G-Exes and the Shaldolls. The Quakeburst split into two back-mounted cannons, extra leg thrusters and the Quake Blaster. While the leg thrusters did inevitably aid movement, and the Quake Blaster did provide rapid fire capabilities, no pilot was ever known for using those armaments. Blasters were often strewn over the battlefield. Only the Quake Cannons were left on many units for their highly destructive capabilities.

    Quake G-Exes

With the sole intent of selling units to Bisidian, Madorna Workshop added their own extra features onto the Quakeburst. A replica of the G-Exes' connector was placed on top of the Quakeburst, allowing Cloudlash units to attach, sharing the two units' armaments. This let Bisidian unleash the fury of their twin dragon cannons. Previously inaccessible due to gravity restricting the dragon heads' movement mid-flight, the Quakeburst provided a stable platform from which to let loose the Cloudlash's power at ground level. Adding the Quakeburst's six thrusters to the Cloudlash's four, the combined unit was able to dash into battle regardless of terrain. The replica connector was not removed by Madorna Workshop from the units sold to the EFF, which led to EFF engineers modifying the Strikecharge, working with both the front X-Rifle and the twin cannons.

    GCA-150 Sabretooth Exceed

"Creating the G-Exes had been a huge step forward in repelling the Vagan. As a compliment to the AGE-1, the suit excelled, being able to match the Gundam's speed and firepower. With a suit almost as powerful as the Gundam, there was finally a testbed for new technology intended for the AGE-2, without risking modifying the Gundam, the best defense against the Vagan. With this in mind, Madorna Factory set about creating the "Exceed"s, optional equipment for the G-Exes to test technology which would later be adopted into the AGE-2.

    Shapeways Sabretooth Exceed page

The first of Madorna Factory's creations was the GCA-150 Sabretooth Exceed. A field test of transforming technology, the Sabretooth's main goal was to gather battle data on the effectiveness of a blaster being used as a jet's nosecone. In addition, the Sabretooth packed 3 remote-controlled Fang Bits, powerful blasters for swarm tactics, equipped with the ability to generate a beam saber at close range.

The Sabretooth Exceed also acted to test whether units could remotely attach and detach weaponry in space. Attaching a Sabretooth to the G-Exes mid-flight was aided by new onboard sensor arrays and advanced camera technology (disguised at the Sabretooth's "cockpit"). The Sabretooth itself could be set on autopilot find G-Exes or act as a manned support fighter.

(the blades are from HG 1/144 Shaldoll Custom [middle] and HG 1/144 Diva Colours Adele [left/right])

Ultimately, the GCA-150 Sabretooth proved to be a difficult unit to handle, and as such it saw little action before being retired. The Fang Bits were effective at cutting through Gafran units, but were difficult to control in battle, even for X-Rounder test pilots. However, it's Sabre Blaster, the nosecone of the Sabretooth's jet mode showed its worth providing cover fire, and the technology ultimately found its way onto the Strider Form of the AGE-2."

Any chance the Wheeljack Drill/Blaster set could be posted as for sale? That seems like a great upgrade for a lot of different figures (besides Jackie himself).

Well, it would be for sale, if it didn't break on me. As of now, the blasters are in need of redesigning. Once I get a test print that actually works, I'll release them.

Currently, the blades are somewhat too small and the guns...well, I want to store them in different ways on Wheeljack than just in the front.

Zirca v2 - Legion Vehicon Drill Conversion Kit

Hi all. Just got through the revisions to Zirca after testing out the first print. Had to reposition some connectors from the first run. Also hollowed out the model to save as much money as possible. :)

I'll be printing out this one in my next order.

Hope you all like Zirca v2. As always, comments and criticisms are welcome and appreciated. :thumb

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

For those wondering, this is what happened with the first print.

I've since fixed the drill (to make sure it's horizontal, and not at the weird slope the first print was) and hollowed it out to save cost. The treads I've adjusted to actually allow them to attach onto Vehicon.

Can AM05 megatron use a fusion booster instead of the micron cannon?

if so, what material would you recommend? WSFP? Detail?

Hi Ellamin, l designed the fusion boosters to work with FE Starscream. AM-05 Megatron uses a different clip on the side of his arm (and he only has the male connector on his right arm, his left has the female connector). It's possible to modify the Fusion Boosters to use 5mm pegs to allow him to hold them in hand, but attaching where the Arms Micron would normall go was not what the Fusion Boosters were designed for.

That said, they look good even in WSF. :)

    WIP: ESN-002 Veni

"Nice is an understatement. Veni would gladly help anyone who needed her, being known to aid wounded units at almost any cost. Unfortunately, most wounded units, no matter how damaged, still manage to run away for her; apparently fangs don't make for a friendly smile.

Those who've actually stayed near her, willingly or not, are the few who are thankful to be taken in pieces to a medic. Without her intervention, even the best medics would be useless."

Just finished ESN-002 Veni's head. I tried to make her as animalistic as I could, which should explain the fangs and the green 'ears'. Her hair's tied back, because running around with any other hairstyle would be remarkably impractical.

She'll transform into a Cannon-Tank when I'm done, which is basically a fancy term for "a cannon mounted on treads". :)
