Looks like you're doing well to me! What's Maya like to model with, I thought it was just a rendering package.

Awesome. My boss has suggested we invest in some animation/ rendering software. I'll suggest it. Good luck with you're projects, they're looking really good.

Sweet Galvy. Do you mind if i ask how much this cost from Shapeways? I'm anxious to know if only because i'm doing a Devs that's slightly smaller but much denser, so i want to know how much pocket money i'll have to save to get it printed...

I did sorta react with "that's remarkably simplistic" when i first saw it, but i'll give it to ya that the detailing on that thing is superb, and frankly the transmech isn't your fault. I just wish it didn't feel like an upscaled deluxe, and i know that's slightly unfair a criticism but it's what's holding me back from saying "I WANT ONE!!!" just yet. From what i can see, it's just "bend elbows, rotate shoulders, clasp legs together and retract, lie robot on back, it's a cannon", right?

Anyways, can't wait to see it painted. I don't like the fact it needs a Silverbolt frame, but then again, anything to turn that piece of crap into a custom is awesome in my books! :)

EDIT: Which program are you using? I know G60 uses Maya (which is much harder than he makes it sound), i'm still a Sketchup fanboy, but i don't recognise yours...

I think it cost around £230 in WSF, with just the cannon in Transparent. Wasn't cheap by any means.

If I was to do Galvatron again, I'd do it completely different, this is quite an old project now.
Yes it's simple, but it worked well at the time.

The Program I use is solidworks.

You are one rich bastard. :lol  j/k

I shudder to think what my Devs will cost, then, as a 16 yr old doesn't exactly have a few hundred pounds just lying around... :(

Also, does solid works have a "draw line" function? Like, I know in Maya, Blener, etc. It's all based on importing shapes like cubes or spheres, and then contorting/extruding/bending them into the models you want, but in sketch up it starts blank and you simply draw lines to make faces. I've always preferred sketchup's interface, and after trying Maya, Blender and even Creo's software, I still prefer having that draw line tool. Does Solidworks have it?

Yes, I think I know what you mean, draw on a plane then extrude to make a solid shape?

You can even import illustator line drawings.

Well, yes, drawing freeform (but still straight) lines, which create a face when you link then back together provided they are on the same plane, and then the good old extrude tool to make a 3d shape.

Please tell me Solidworks is either A) free (keep dreaming Treadshot  ), or B) available on free trial basis. I'd like to try that sometime.

Yeah, well, I wasn't really getting my hopes up. But that's a crazy price, especially for a timed lease. And as a teenager, I don't have 1000 pounds to spare (except around the waistline, but thats neither here nor there :lol  ).

I eagerly await the finished Galvy, and make it PURPLE. Blue Galvy sucks. :(

The first one I did, has been and gone. Think there's some pics in the customs sections. I've a second one unpainted in a box that's been gathering dust since last August. I just dont have the time to do anything with it.

I used the profits from the sale of the first one to buy the second, but I just ran out of spare time.
