This is super awesome true geeewun Transformers 84 style yay!!!

....Yeah, I'm not too big of a fan of the whole lets redraw Animated into "G1" thing. Mostly because a lot of the ones I've seen seem to take out all of the actual defining characteristics of the original design, leaving a rather generic looking bot. Though technically well drawn, their "G1" designs really show a lack of inspiration and imagination when it comes to character design imo. Not to mention what I find to be a rather clouded perspective of what is strictly "G1".
So I've taken a stab at this concept, though instead of trying to redesign the core characteristics of the designs, I attempted to translate them out of the Animated style and directly into the old 84 cartoon, still retaining their original characteristics.

Here we have Bulkhead. I mixed characteristics from G1 Hoist and Omega Supreme to transform old Bulky to a 84 style.
I as much as I'd have loved to leave it in, I couldn't think of many G1 bots who actually had an under bite jaw like his, so I kinda translated that characteristic into a faceplate.

Here we have Lugnut. Before you'd like to tell me how clamp hands don't have any place in G1, I'd just like to direct you to G1 Autobot Whirl .
I have to say though, given Lugnut's deco as a purple bomber, he may actually be more suited to G2 then G1.

And here we have Lockdown. I tried my best to take his original character design and de-evolve it into a 80s cartoon style. I think I may have gone a bit too blocky in his legs, even for 84 G1.

I only drew characters that weren't actually in G1. I donno if I'll actually do more or not.
Redrawing Prime just seems redundant to me, as it would just end up with me drawing a picture of basically G1 Prime, only with some very slight little detail differences.

Lockdown looks right on, but Bulkhead...he looks kind of different and in a way more like a contemporary cartoon attempting to have a kind of retro flavour? I don't think it's a bad thing though, just a little unexpected.

Lugnut's glorious body however looks a little uncomfortable.

lol Yeah, I thought that myself after I drew Lockdown. It's the head design. I tried moving his face down to try and just make his "neck" into a full Brawn style helmet, but it just looked stupid.

I guess it just goes to show that Lockdown can't fit in with the puritan fan's idea of a G1 universe. His design is just too radical.

well that's the fun of artistic interpretation. You never know what people will come up with till its done

I'd dare to say if every one here did their own LockDown none of them would be the same yet all of them would be instantly recognisable as LockDown.

Any ways I do like them. Lugnut reminds me of something I'd see in the Ark books.

They look more like 1985 (second season) TF cartoon designs to me.

How the Animated toy line REALLY came to an end

I love these! The Lockdown one really reminds me of a Go-Bot for some reason. Can we expect to see some more from you?

There's tons of characters in Animated that weren't in G1

Well at least I hit it somewhere in the general 80s toon realm.
Thanks.

I had thought about doing Oilslick, but I started to get tired and thought 3 was enough.
