He hates you all. The design has been on my mind all week, I had to draw him... I tried to mix elements of the G1 and the 2007 Movie Bonecrushers - So, he's a bulldozer (being a Constructicon and all) but his body shape and head is more akin to the 2007 version. Just as TFA Mixmaster has the cementgun and Scrapper his drill, I gave Bonecrusher some built-in tools (destructive tools, of course) - jackhammers, in this case. I made his head more humanoid but leaving the overall shape - he has a mouth and constructicon helmet, and I turned the 'head-sideline teeth' of the movie Con into a full beard. Of course, I planned him to be fully transformable (not that he'd be made into a toy ever, a fact that he hates... a lot). TRansformation is similar to G1 Bonecrushers - the treads are attached to the front to the bulldozer, flip them down. Then separate the front motor block sideways 90 degrees to form the arms. Now, the upper body (the cab) rotates 180 degrees, and the front shovel can be lifted up and attached to the chest with a peg. (Yes, the line on the shovel is deliberate, it can bend slightly to give an angled look). The head is stored in the cab, flip it out. Just like on the G1 toy the end of the treads flip out to form the feet, the hands/claws are extended from the arms, the pistons (that normally attach to the shovel with pegs) become jackhammers. By the way, Mix(master) thinks his name is too long, and usually just calles him 'Bones'. Needless to say, Bonecrusher hates that.
Looks awesome! I saw one of those the other day for the first time and thought, Wow that would make a cool TF! Keep it up dude!
That's pretty cool, but I always thought a raging robot like Bonecrusher should have a jack-o-lantern mouth like Grimlock or Blitzwing
I like it. The big jackhamer seems fitting for the character. Though rather then it being like an over the shoulder thing, I could maybe see that becoming one of his actual arms in robot mode. But that's just me, Don't think I'm picking apart your design. It is a realy cool piece. I like the bit with Mix just calling him Bones, that's awesome.
Thank you all for the comments! Shroobmaster - at first I thought to keep his face more akin to his movie version to express his rage and hatred, but the 3 Constructicons in the show so far have quite uniformly human(like) faces, so I did not want to break the trend. I've also got a design for TFA Hook (Hightower, if you will) - way back when Season 2 aired and I saw that crane the Constructicons lift off Bulkhead, I thought he'd make a great Hook. And I plan to portray him as the "higher then thou" snobbish architect who orders the others around...
...I'm going to hate myself for asking but... Where's the ass crack? Cant have a TFA Constructicon without asscrack.
no matter how many times i look at that it doesnt cease to make me say "GLORIOUS!" brilliant job man, try to see if you can make someone here make it for you!
Heheh, glad you mention it! Yes, he has it. I was just lazy to draw a butt-shot of him... By the way, does Dirt Boss have it too? My next one might be not Hook but Long Haul. I have a new idea (not too original, I admit) for him. I wanted to give him some ability/tool, and I was wondering... What does Long Haul do? He hauls stuff around. How could he do that more efficiently? Well... you'll see! Thanks for all the comments, everyone! Thanks a lot Optimus-Wave! by "making it" you mean, as a toy? Hmmm.... Intriguing... I would ask Derrick Wyatt whether he had all the other Constructicons planned out already - but he's not really answering his mails, I sent him my Animated Octopunch parody pic and didn't reply - I'm sure he must be getting a gazillion emails each day.
I always try to design TFs in a way that they can transform as toys - makes them look more 'real' that way. I had done an animated design sketch before this way - for the Battlechargers, Runamuck and Runabout. My idea was to make them roller-skating punks with hot rod car alt modes, their engines become their weapons - a baseball bat (can be used as a boomstick) for Runamuck and dual spray cans (they spray a dual-component acid) for Runabout. But, they are in sketch format yet. I will finish them someday... Runamuck sketch 1 Runamuck sketch2
