Hey guys, I thought I'd dig up another piece of my history as a TF fan. This time, we journey back to when I first got back into collecting (as in literally months into my venture). I was overseeing the computer lab at the community college I was attending at the time, and was looking up just about anything I could find on TFs. I was just getting into RiD at the time (as Car Robots was essentially in full swing, but RiD wasn't out in the US yet. I absolutely loved that TFs was shifting back to vehicles [for the most part] again, as I was mostly picking up G1s that I didn't have during BM.

Anyways, these three guys are very much inspired by the RiD Car Brothers, as I wanted a set of Decepticons to battle them. I found three diecast 1:32 cars at my local Big Lots! and always wanted them to transform and such. Back then, I wasn't into making customs, as that would come much later. I'll discuss that more in detail in just a bit.

As far as the personas for these go, all that I have written I submitted to Greg Gaub and his CybCon site when he was uploading fan art (My Fan Art at Greg Gaub's Transformers Fan Art Page):

    Cyclone:
This guy is reminiscent of Cyclonus (hence the name). Loyal but has his own agenda too. Sleek and sneaky, he does what it takes to get the job done.

    Road Rage:
Road Rage (which I created before the Takara repaint of Tracks) is the leader of the Roadwarriors. If you can think of having road rage, this guy embodies it. Reckless as Megatron, cold as Shockwave, and trechorous as Starscream, this guy is evil rolled up into one.

    Roadwarp:

Reminiscent of Skywarp, Road Warp has tried to follow in his predecessor's footsteps . . . just on the road. He has the ability to warp small distances to outmaneuver his prey.

It would be much later that I would venture into the world of custom Transformers. Once I did, I always kept these guys in the back of my mind. They've changed quite a bit since then. ROAD RAGE I eventually shortened to "RAGE" (due to the eHobby toy) and dubbed my yellow BT Tracks with the name.

"RAGE was the prototype to TRACKS, where the Binal Tech technicians tried to infuse the personality program of TRACKS into a BT chassis. The attemp was unsuccessful, and the result was a bot whose personality was warped to the extent that RAGE has uncontrollable fits of anger, only subdued by his Autobot comrades. Many Autobots get easily frustrated with RAGE (especially the vain TRACKS, as he believes RAGE makes him look bad), but OPTIMUS PRIME and ULTRA MAGNUS continue to encourage the other Autobots to help their comrade in all ways."

ROADWARP eventually became the name I used for my Alt Seeker version of Skywarp. I thought Skywarp would be a silly name for a street tuner version of Skywarp, hence the name.

CYCLONE isn't exactly a 1:1 version of Cyclonus, but Cyclonus was always one of my very favorite characters. I'm actually working on completing a custom with this one as I write this. The car that I had for CYCLONE originally was silver, and I still retain this today. More on this bot later :)

Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy my work. There are sketches at the very best, but I thought it'd be fun to share :)

I dig the characters, but Roadwarp's head is very similar to Cyclonus. But thats how I look at it. They're all cool, it'll be even more cool if they were in toy form. Just an idea.

Right, and even the CYCLONE custom I've got currently going is different than the head on this illustration.

A part of me would still like to see these three as I originally designed them as toys, but I've since moved on and changed many things about them. However, these guys are my first fan characters I've ever created in any shape or form (and I think I forgot to mention that). :)

so we got an F40, Supra, and a F360 interesting choice in cars I'd be tempted to swap the supra for a 599 just to give them some consistency since the Supra seems like the odd one out in the line up.
