Custom Painted Optimus Helmet Here is my helmet I painted up. I did the battle ravaged version. As well as a picture of Optimus I airbrushed from a comic. The bike is a woman wearing a cloak. The car is the eye of ra graphic with airbrush work all under candy orange. Then of course...who dosn't love fire and skulls.
The best tip is.. pay me and I'll do it! I need some money.. haha. Just kidding. It comes apart pretty easy Just unscrew and cut the wires. The most important thing is to go to a automotive paint store and buy some plastic prep. It is a scuffing agent that you would use on a grey scotch brite pad with hot water. It removes all the mold release agents. Then some "low heat" plastic cleaner" and some adheasion promoter. For the battle look, I drug the parts across the concrete and cut with a razor blade. Then I cleaned it. I used all automotive paint. So I based the silver parts silver, the whole face was painted silver and I just taped of what would remain silver. Then based the other parts blue. A little weak black to give the scorched look. Clearcoat. Reassemble. If you do not have access to all the stuff for automotive painting, you could get by with the plastic paint in the spray cans at wall mart. Or, go to ALSACORP.COM. They have all kind of great products in spray cans that work well. The most immportant thing is the prep though.
