Hey guys, long time lurker, first time poster: Thought I would take a crack at a CG Bumblebee and document my progress here. I'll be going for a detailed-but-not-cluttered G1 (yeah G1!) look. The goal is to have working parts to explain the movement but not have shards of metal everywhere like the movie (which I'm holding reservations about but will still see on opening day). The Volkswagen model I got the reference pics from is a 1300 series with some custom stuff added and scaled proportions to get closer to the G1 cartoon/comic look. Check it out:
