To kill time I rewatched my season 3 & 4 DVD's. I never realized how layered a character Cyclonus was. You have someone deeply devoted to the Decepticon cause, but he also has an honor code as well as the unfortunate role of being Galvatron's second. Anyway, it got me a bit inspired to trying to figure out an update to his original form. The G1 version never did his cartoon form justice (like most season 3 toys). The Botcon version was a nice little homage as well. Like most Classics designs, I tried to keep the essence of the character's robot and vehicle modes, but making major changes to the way he transforms.
To go from vehicle to robot mode, the wings fold over the thrusters as the thrusters become his arms. The front portion of the nosecone houses a firing projectile that can be detached to become the robot mode's gun. The middle portion of the front section becomes his legs. The cockpit and top portion of the rear rotate to become his back. The portion below that extends a little to give him a thin mid section. The middle thruster would convert into his head. Anyway, comments and crits are appreciated.
