So it's been a while, but I've been ripping models from Transformers: Fall of Cybertron and plan to make use of all the models I can get my hands on. This is for upcoming video projects that I won't do unless I'm certain I got what I need. I'll update this thread with all the characters I'm doing and go from there. Thanks to some people from other forums, I'm able to get some characters done and out of the way. 1st of them being G1 Optimus Prime: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sa5QaMVPfM0 I will keep this thread updated as much as I can with new characters and progress once I start completing them one by one.
Thanks! While I have it in my mind: WIP Jazz Keep in mind that this is only for the PC version of Fall of Cybertron. The DS games can't be ripped properly ASAIK. If I could anyway, the models for the characters I find would be too low-poly to use. No Motormaster, Ramjet, Kup, or Cyclonus I'm afraid.
I'm noticing the sides of Prime's abdomen aren't attached quite right. Also it could be the lighting, but the colors seem a bit over saturated for FoC.
The colors are meant to replicate the G1 look of Prime rather than the dark shading of Fall of Cybertron. The textures come out as black and white so it's difficult to make them accurate without the ingame lighting getting in the way. Some bones on Prime's body act on their own sometime, so I'd have to pose them too to get it right. The pic was just a preview testing how good the movement is.
Too a bit long for this update, but here's another finished model: Cliffjumper! Comes with a bodygrouped Burst Rifle on his right hand that can be switched for a normal arm. Prime and all of the other TF models will have a similar feature. Alt mode coming soon.
Why does it look flat and were is the other optimus prime model from fall of cybertron including war for cybertron
Time to let you guys know about something. These guys are very tricky to work with. They're in multiple pieces that need to be put together, the diffuse textures NEED to be filled in with the right color scheme via PS or Gimp which I'm horrible at, and the normal maps are inverted. I can only do so many characters by self. Right now G1 Prime is a priority, and here's another preview of him.
I've got the model pack also so I fully understand where you're coming from. Coloring them is a little easier with Blender's built in image editor but it's still very time consuming. You are doing a superb job with them, I almost forgot that the textures were originally white when I saw G1 Optimus, you've done that good a job on him. Keep it up!
The textures aren't my edits, this guy here did it: Goreface13 (GOREFACE) - DeviantArt Without him, I'd hardly go anywhere with these models. I don't have Blender, so I don't know how good it is compared to Gimp or blender. Still I'll find a way to do it somehow.
Sorry for lack of activity, but I've been busy juggling college work, finals coming up, and what models to work on next. Here's a bit of something that I completed. Took me months to get out of that funk, but at least it looks okay. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOg5BmY57sc&feature=youtu.be
My apologies, but I was held up by college and writing a short story. For progress, Ironhide and Megatron are done. Jazz and Sideswipe are next. The problem is that their vehicle forms have their textures washed out and their bumpmaps inverted like their robot modes. A good use of Photoshop or Gimp can fix that, but I'm no expert in the subject. On my to-do list for the year: Ratchet Jetfire The Combaticons Starscream and the Seekers Soundwave Shockwave Their vehicle forms Bumblebee(?)
Possibly. I might have a file of Megatron using Gmod settings that I can copy/paste to other models, but I didn't test it because I stopped some years ago. Will try it later this week. Thanks! That's the wonder of the Source engine, it has amazing lighting.
Another update, this time for a ship. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=628654224&searchtext= Now you can carry the Decepticon Empire wherever you go!
