Again, sorry for not updating. But I am gonna say that I'm gonna stop using GIMP for my artwork, or at least concerning character models. For now. Mostly because I feel GIMP kind of stlits my artwork, and because I'd rather be authentic and upload pictures from my notebook. Also, Photobucket's a pain in the ass to use on my computer, so I'm uploading from my phone. Lastly, I can draw poses better naturally, and I don't feel I get that same effect on GIMP. Maybe if I do big picture pieces, I'll use GIMP. Now with that out of the way, here's Chromia with a big ol' cannon.
Hey guys! My project's not dead! In fact, here's a long promised character! Name: Arcee Position: Sniper Weapon(s) of choice: Sniper rifle Vehicle Mode: Volkswagen Beetle Dune Concept Voice Actress: Michelle Ruff Arcee is smart, but rather clumsy. And sometimes, you have to wonder what prompted Chromia to take this young femme under her wing, especially since the little Volkswagen hoists a sniper rifle into battle. But being clumsy doesn't mean she can't do good at her job, evidence that years of schooling are not lost on her. Meeting up with the Polaris crew on a beach in a trashed stasis pod, Arcee was sent to Earth by Autobot High Command, using her connections to Chromia to justify sending her on a search mission to find out just what happened to the Polaris crew. It's scary how well she performs with her cherished weapon, though, given that she and Bumblebee are around the same age, and they're more or less teenagers. --- So yeah, first new design after two months. Sorry for the wait. I just got kind of lazy, and school and procrastination set in. The only thing I have to add here is that Arcee's "hunter hat" wasn't originally there. I added it in because I was honestly thinking of the sniper from Team Fortress 2. Also, her color scheme had more black and gray to it, but I honestly like the final result better.
Huh. Never intended for her to be adorable. Whatever. Here's the last character for Season 1. Maybe now I can make some actual artwork. Name: Inferno Position: Pyromaniac Weapon(s) of choice: 2x Flamethrowers Vehicle Mode: Mack tanker truck Voice Actor: Scott McNeil Inferno is best to be avoided at all times. Making his escape from an mental asylum ship run by the Autobots and crash-landing in the Pocono mountains during a snowstorm, this pyromaniac is armed and dangerous. Inferno wields two flamethrowers, both disguised as the halves of the tank in his vehicle mode. Rushing into battle with flames around and about, Inferno is dead set on taking the world with him into a fiery pit of hell. --- So, this is the last character for "Season 1". I tried something new and used a soft brush on the brown parts of Inferno's robot mode, and a soft eraser on his insignia, since I was trying to get a rusty, worn feeling out of those parts. That doesn't mean I'm gonna do shading. I just wanted to try it out. Also, it's not apparent here because of the dark background, but 'Ferno has a set of antennae on his head, kind of based off BW Inferno. Maybe later, when I get better at using GIMP (I'm kind of rusty with the path tool, since I haven't used it in months), I'll go and re-draw all of the characters here so that they don't look as stilted.
Arcee is cute...though I thought it was a fedora she had. I love the irony of Scott McNeil voicing Inferno.
HERE I AM, BACK FROM THE DEAD AFTER ALL THESE MONTHS! Nah, I've been alive this whole time. Just haven't done artwork on GIMP in a long time. But that changed today. Did this for a Tumblr art trade.
