So I'm not the best artist, but I like to think that I at least have some good ideas.

I'm happy with how this came out, and if the response is good, I'll move forward with some more refined renderings.

I came up with the idea for this character a couple months ago while I was reading a thread in the RID section where people all came up with OC characters to fit into the RID2015 cast of Decepticons.

This is what I came up with: Bravado - A chauvinistic ape-like Decepticon who is basically Johhny Bravo the Transformer. As I hope it is evident, I used a lot of Johhny Bravo-esque cues in my design, right down to the sunglasses and "hair".

Let's move on to the bio and such.  

Name: Bravado
Faction: Decepticon
Alt-Mode: 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1
Reason for Imprisonment on the Alchemor: Bravado was put on trial on Cybertron for multiple charges of harassment, disorderly conduct, reckless driving, and possession of an illegal substance (A dangerously radioactive but highly effective armor polish from the Planet of Junk.) In a fleeting attempt to earn himself an acquittal, Bravado tried to "put the moves" on the judge presiding over his case. It didn't work. Now, finding himself stranded on a strange planet populated by...turkeys...Bravado only has one thing on his mind: babes. Chicks, ladies, and babes. But the problem is, there's only one Decepticon chick to be found on this entire jive planet, and she's hot, too, even though she ain't too bright, but still, she's hot, and this poor gal's already been locked up by those buzzkill Autobots! Weak. But Bravado has a plan, oh yes he does. The first thing he's gonna do is find an auto-shop and comendear some polish and buffer so he can wash the stasis residue off of his precious paint job, (He's gotta look his best for the lady, eh?) then he's gonna swagger right into the Autobot base and set that pretty bird free! He can take 'em. Surely there's no chance of the little darlin' rejecting him after that, right? It's a sure thing, baby!

So I'm thinking of writing a one-shot fanfic in the style of an episode of RID featuring Bravado as the star Decepticon. Thoughts?

If Bravado ever showed up in official fiction, I'd be so honored I'd die.  

But yes, Jeff Bennett doing his OG Johnny Bravo all the way. If you read the fanfic I'm writing with this character, be sure to read all of Bravado's lines in the hammiest Jeff Bennett voice you can imagine.  

 

I already read his bio in that voice.

I'm about a quarter way done with the first draft of the fanfic. It takes place immediately after the ending of RID2015 S1E13 "Sideways".

It's titled: Transformers: Robots in Disguise, Season 1, Episode 13 and a Half - "Sure Thing, Baby!"

Synopsis: While Bumblebee and the Autobots get some much needed rest after their most tasking mission yet, Steeljaw informs his pack that it shouldn't only be his duty to convince new Decepticons to join their cruscade, and he sends out a reluctant Thunderhoof and a terrified Clampdown to enlist a chauvinistic ape-like Decepticon named Bravado, by any means necessary. But despite Clampdown's cowardice and Thunderhoof's outright refusal, both somehow get wrapped up in aiding the hammy, self-centered Decepticon infiltrate the Autobot Base so he can peruse their stasis pods, all for the sake of "hot babes". Bravado is ready to get his mo-jo on! Hyuh!

 

Yes. Just...just yes.

 

What about it appeals to you? So I know what I'm doing right.  

 

The entire thing just seems utterly in character, and seems to fit.

 

Well, thank you, that was my intention.  

I'm putting a lot of effort into making this feel as much like an authentic piece of RID15 fiction as I possibly can.

I'm about half done with the fanfic I outlined earlier. I'm really trying to take my time and stay true to the spirit of RID2015, and not make it too intense

Thank you! The fanfic is coming along. I took a couple days off from working on it to focus on some of my other projects, but I'll probably have at least a rough draft done by the end of this weekend.
