Long story short: I started drawing these guys digitally now, so I decided to make a new thread.

Plus now I have AllSpark-Almanac style bios for them.




Rodimus Prime

Rodimus Prime, formerly known as simply ‘Rodimus’, is a ship commander in the Autobot Interplanetary Protection Buereau, which itself is a subsection of the Autobot Elite Guard. More specifically he commands the starship ‘Athenia’ and its crew to investigate potential Decepticon activity on Autobot-protected planets.

In boot camp Rodimus was known for his laziness and immaturity, causing and infamous rivalry between him and his superior, Sargent Kup Minor, who gave him the nickname ‘Hot Rod’. However, a during a Decepticon attack on the boot camp, Rodimus demonstrated an abnormally high level of skill to prevent the Decepticons from destroying the medical facility that was treating injured Autobots. This proved he was more than a lazy child and earned him a spot in the Elite Guard.

Regarding skills, his abilities in archery are unmatched. When armed with his bow he is more lethal than a squad of fully armed Autotroopers. This unusual talent has earned him several nicknames, the most notable being ‘Eagle Optics’ and ‘The Crimson Arrow’. Though his bow can generate energy arrows on its own, he has a quiver on his back that contains a number of arrows with special functions, such as crating smokescreens or acting as grappling hooks.

Rodimus also suffers from a minor glitch in his processor that occasionally causes him to see ‘hallucinations’ of other beings. The most notable is of Sargent Kup, who had passed on shortly after Rodimus joined the Elite Guard. Rodimus has said that he does not believe this to be Kup’s ghost, but rather a ‘caricature’ of Kup formed by his own mind. His ‘hallucination’ of Kup often acts as a guide, giving him advice in times of distress. However, he also on occasion sees other ‘creatures’, as he puts it, that will discourage and distract him.

Nice. I just realized, the forearms are somewhat reminiscent of Generations Springer/Cloud Rodimus.

Can't wait to see everybody else! Well, bios for most of them, considering I've already seen most of them

Damn, that looks really good! I love the colours, and the vehicle mode is an interesting choice for Rodimus

The hot rod camper is a nice compromise and the Cloud homage is neat.

 

This is one of the coolest Rodimus' I've ever seen! Awesome work!

Bludgeon

Bludgeon is, first and foremost, a warrior, bound by a code of honor… or at least, he used to be. At one time he was known as one of the fiercest and most deadly fighters in the universe, and to an extent he still holds that distinction.

Today he still utilizes a certain warrior’s code, make no mistake of that, but only in the battlefield. But when the guns and swords are stashed away, anything’s fair game with him. In fact, our mission on Earth is to find a supposed secret energy source buried somewhere on the planet that the humans have yet to find. Why? To cause enough chaos to re-start the Great War. You see, he has this mentality that the Decepticons, being a warrior race, are useless without a battle to fight. Unfortunately for us, he’s right.

His Earth vehicle mode is a tank, which seems odd as it’s probably the least agile vehicle on the planet- heck, the humans sometimes use term ‘tank’ to specifically describe something that is bulky and slow. However, there’s a bit of logic to it- if he’s already got stealth and skill in robot mode, why not have your vehicle mode do something different? That way you can cover multiple strategies. Pretty smart if you ask me.

Ah yes, a completely intentional homage to a thing that is totally known to me and not in any way likely a coincidence! I am so clever, aren't i?

I wanted to pay homage to the camper trailer of G1 Rodimus Prime without making him huge.

I decided I wanted to avoid the gray faces in my designs if possible to make the characters look a bit more unique.

That's awesome. I like how the sword forms the end of the turret like on the ROTF toy

 

A cannon that turns into a sword? That's a first.

 

I'm pretty sure it's a reference to the ROTF toy which did the same thing.

 

I love how much more skeletal you made Bludgeon than he usually is.
